I’ve read a few posts that suggest long sleeves for women in the evenings.  We will be sailing the Med  in the months of June and July.  Are sleeves necessary due to the air-conditioning?

I haven’t cruised in the Med, but in the Caribbean I was always cold indoors and wore long sleeves and/or a heavy wrap.

Looking at a deluxe inside cabin on the Queen Victoria.  Is the 3rd berth a 'pull-down' or a sofa bed?

I don’t know if all deluxe inside cabins are the same but I know that in our cabin the 3rd berth was a sofa bed. Cabin 1031 if I remember correctly.

  3. I received an upsell offer from Cunard in November 2022 about a week before our Caribbean cruise. The offer was an upsell to Princess Grill from a Britannia balcony. I don’t recall the exact price but it was extremely reasonable. We didn’t take the offer as we were traveling with our elderly parents and needed 2 cabins near one another.

I used in incorrect term. Can you buy the passes online in advance or do you have to go to the spa to make the purchase?

I bought the day of boarding.

  5. My family and I are booked on the V315 starting June 6.

Last September my mother and I did a Norway cruise on the QM2 in September. Generally we had to get up early to see the fjords as at that time of year, it would be getting dark when the ship cruised back through the fjords to depart for the evening .

We enjoyed the scenery of the smaller ports, the larger cities, while scenic, were not quite so exciting.

Choose between the cruises based on which appear to cover the areas you are most interested in seeing.

Maybe I will see you on board in June.

Slightly off subject but I cannot remember since it's been a few years since we are on board Queen Mary. Is there a shelf or some type of place to set your own travel size shampoo, conditioner and razor in the shower? Otherwise I bring a small caddy that self sticks to the wall. Thank you in advance for your help!

Yes I can confirm there is one small shelf in the shower on the QM2 in Britannia class cabins.

  7. I was on the QM2 (got off today). In addition to the sounding of the whistle for a moment of silence, there was also a book to write condolences, the flags were lowered to half mast until Charles was proclaimed King and at the inter-denominational service there was a special tribute and prayers for the Queen.

She only sailed for about two years for Cunard.  After a 1974 fire she was declared a total constructive loss, her hull sold, and converted to a sheep carrier.  You can read her history here:MV Cunard Ambassador

Thanks for the link. My parents were onboard in 1974, probably the month of February.

Sailing on QM2 to Norway...4th September 2022..M227.....does anyone know if  proof of a negative covid test is required for this voyage....can't make head nor tail of it now …different dates say different things

I am on this sailing. I received an email stating no proof of negative test result is required. You are required to take a test within 2 days and confirm a negative result.
