Update
Oh how I LOVE my Airtags
Only working in one of the 2 bags but I know both bags are together.
They just moved from Pier 12 to a nearby address which I looked up and turns out it's a Fedex shipping center.
Hopeful
Great news. Hope your items are salvageable.

What is proper hat etiquette? I have a hat I'd like to wear on Roaring 20s night on my upcoming cruise but want to make sure I do it properly.
I was brought up that a gentleman never wears a hat indoors except for public spaces such as hallways and elevators.

Has anyone else received this survey on the Cunard World Club? It asks about types of benefits you would prefer in a loyalty club. I received the survey this morning.

On Tuesday August 22nd we will be boarding the QE to sail from Los Angles to Fort Lauderdale via the Panama Canal, 14 nights. This will be our first time on the QE and our first time on any cruise other than QM2 crossings (3). Through an accepted upgrade bid we will be sailing PG, also a first. I will probably do little or no posting while on the cruise but will submit a review afterwards. I will be more than happy to try and answer any questions, take any pictures or do any research while onboard. Just let me know how I can help.
Thanks
Jack
It’s a wonderful cruise and an interesting experience for the technology of the locks. Spend your day moving around the ship to watch the transit from all angles. Wishing you fair seas and beautiful weather.

What is her first cruise after the refit? We are joining on November 26 for the NY to Caribbean.

Thanks for posting this information. Interesting that no steakhouse is included.

You can get cappuccino after dinner for no fee in Britannia, just ask. We did this on our last cruise on QM2 in November 2022 and on QV in June 2023.
Lobster is generally only on a formal night when they offer surf and turf.

When attempting to go to Illuminations, use elevator bank A and walk aft. You avoid walking down the stairs (good for those with mobility issues) and the side hallways which confuse many people.

I had them on my June 2023 QV cruise in the Britannia dining room.

I live in Chicago and rarely see 2500 rt businesses class fares.
Agreed. We paid $4200 RT per person for our June cruise from Chicago to London business class (United Polaris). After I purchased 3 tickets at that price, the next time I checked it was $10000 per ticket. Premium Economy was then $4000 and regular economy, which my sister flew, was $2200.

The my Voyage website has been inactive for two days. Really doesn’t make sense.
I’ve found that the omelette is the best breakfast food. I tried the English bacon. It was good.
The temperature is 58. Seas calm.
I agree that the omelettes are good. Also consider the avocado toast, it is one of my favorites.
Also have you had a chance to visit the lookout on 11? Worth your while if you haven’t yet.

I forgot all about that. My June cruise was my first as Platinum and I didn’t receive my pins during the cruise. When I made Gold the pins were placed on my bed one evening.

From one Chicagoan to another, bon voyage!

When I booked my cruise I received onboard credit and dinner for two in the steakhouse. I went to book this and it looked like I would have been charged so I stopped the process. How do I know I’m using the free dinners provided by the ta?
thank you.
You have to book that onboard.

Less than 2 months until I'm back on QV. Does anyone know if they are bringing Danish Pastries around like the did pre-Covid or is it still the case that you ask for them when you do your breakfast order? I ordered a bran muffin last time I was on and they must have made a batch as I got one every morning without having to ask.
You still have to ask and it still is not the large pre-COVID tray.

@Chart Room Princess - thank you for sharing you photos. I really wanted to try the Chieftain of the Clan on our QV cruise last week but never quite got round to it - as I was always drinking the Commodore’s Cure! I will be sure to make amends on QM2 in October. Did you think any of the cocktails were better suited to drinking at a particular time of day or the evening? Eg before or after dinner?
I think it’s certainly a personal preference as to what time of the day to try a specific drink. However for me, I prefer the Chieftain of the Clan, Land of Hop & Glory, and Over the Top for the afternoon. The rest I think are appropriate for any time of the day. Also Over the Top and All Consuming Passion feel more appropriate for tropical itineraries.

On my recent North Cape cruise on the QV, I decided to sample all seven of the signature drinks for the Cunard Commodores. I was greatly surprised by my favorite drink as I am generally a fan of manhattans, cognac and bourbon drinks. I am ranking the drinks here in order of favorite to least favorite:
1. Punch Romaine a La Carpathia
2. Yorkshire Pacesetter
3. Chieftain of the Clan (1st place for presentation)
4. Land of Hop & Glory (2nd place for presentation)
5. All Consuming Passion
6. Commodore's Cure
7. Over the Top
I am attaching photos of each drink to this post.
What are your favorites of the Commodore drinks?

I had a boarding time of 3:15 at Southampton on June 6. We took the Cunard transfer from the airport and arrived at 1:00. We were onboard by 1:30.

Regarding the side of the ship for the balcony stateroom position, I don’t think it really makes a difference. As there are 2 separate channels in the locks, you don’t know which side the ship will be going through. Pictures below. Our staterooms were on the starboard side and the QV used the port side channel through all the locks. Therefore from our balconies we were able to see the interior of the channels and the other ship moving through the locks with the QV.
We moved around the ship taking photos from all different angles. I recommend picking a cabin position where you will be happiest and not really worry about the side of the ship.
Also we have had the large curved balcony on another cruise plus the cabin next to it that you are currently assigned. Most people would not be peeking around the balcony to look back into your balcony or stateroom. In fact the balconies above the curved balcony have a better view of the curved balcony than the other way round.

For June 6 cruise we have 3:30. All members are platinum. Additionally we are arriving at Heathrow at 8:20 am and taking the Cunard transfer from the airport to the pier. We will be there way before 3:30. Seems to me Cunard needs to work on its assignment of check in times to be a little more flexible when scheduling transfers from the airport.
We also had 3:30 check in time on our last cruise as well. We were onboard by 1:00 pm.

When would that bus get you to heathrow?
I have taken the bus to Heathrow several times. Our disembarkation time has always been 8:00 am. So by the time the bus is loaded and depending on traffic, we have arrived around 10:00 or a little earlier or later.

Thank you Solent Richard. This is exactly the type of information I was hoping to see. Please post more pictures if you have them.

QE - removing balcony barriers between 2 cabins
in Cunard Line
Posted
We do this all the time on Cunard. Just ask your cabin steward as soon as you meet them. It is a very simple process. All the steward needs is a simple key to unlock the balcony door separating the 2 balconies.
