Per the email I received (was booked on Liberty of the Seas, now being moved to Independence):

"Beginning June 8th, 2021, we’ll automatically move you to the Independence of the Seas sailing departing on the same day as your original cruise."

"All moves will be completed by June 18th, 2021, and we’ll send an updated reservation confirmation with your revised details to the email address on file as soon as your reservation has been completely updated with the pricing fully adjusted."

The wording in the email gives them ten days to complete the transfer. Yours could be one of the first and will be done on the 8th. Or it could be the last one and doesn't get completed until the 18th. More likely, it'll take a handful of days to get everyone transferred over. The rest of the time will be spent taking care of special one-off cases, fixing issues where somehow a room was double-booked or other such nonsense that shouldn't happen but invariably will, and then fixing the smaller things such as pricing. So, I wouldn't freak out if you check later today and it shows you're leaving on the right ship from the wrong port, and/or have a balance due when you already paid in full. I'd try waiting until next week before calling in about the new reservation being inaccurate.

I am being moved from Indy to Odyssey and our email stated it begins 6/6.  Most people on my sailing have received their assignments and have access to Cruise Planner.  I am not upset just inpatient.  I called  inquiring why my reservation was moved to Galveston on the 7 day leaving the same day.  I was told this was just a place holder and all moves should be completed by 6/8.  My email did say 6/18 but the agent said 6/8 and to call after 5pm if it wasn't completed

I don't think they knew of my September booking, as they had not done the change. As of right now my account shows Liberty cancelled and no update to Independence. Royal will be doing the updates this week.  With all the changes I believe the person I spoke with had the wrong information.

I was told all changes would be made by tonight at 5pm.  I am waiting and my patience is dwindling....

We got moved from the Indy.  Same October dates, similar itinerary (one port change). No email as of yet, just an update on the RCI C&A website under "Upcoming Cruises."  I had been concerned that we would not get our same category, as the Odyssey only had two of them.  I was right, we scored a major upgrade. Woo Hoo!

What room cat were you in and what did you get placed in on Odyssey? Thx!

They moved us to the exact same room on the Odyssey.  It did not think they could give us the same exact room and type and they did.  We are scheduled for the July 3rd sailing and so far so good.  We are looking forward to sailing to celebrate our 25th Anniversary,   my son's High School graduation and my birthday.  Hopefully this cruise goes on as expected.

my problem is my same exact room does not exist on Odyssey.

a lot of hurry up and wait around this change;  the swing on cruise planner purchases can be very impactful - if there is not a decent sale soon i figured there could be a big swing in costs here as we got our beverage packages around $43/day and dining packages for $176 each.

plus we had great 1K room, 8500 on the Independence.

That is an ultra spacious OV did you have 5 in that room...if so what did they move you to on Odyssey

    Mine hasn't either

the wait is killing me and people can already access Cruise planner which doesn't seem very fair b/c the pricing is dynamic so more people book the higher the prices get!!! What is your reservations situation? I think mine is taking forever b/c we are a 5 person room with 3 minors and there aren't that many rooms on Odyssey that fit 5!

Issues here as well.  3 insides in a row with 2 of them connecting due to minor children.  Assigned 3 cabins but none adjacent and one at the other end of the ship.  Supervisor and Revenue working on it now, they said it will be done by the end of the day....we shall see

Thanks!! I am staying on hold until I speak to someone and I want my cabin numbers ugh this stresses me out!! We have  4 on one reservation number and 1 on another reservation number!

Hang in there a bit longer. I just talked to Royal because we have not received an  invoice or a cabin assignment, while others on our FB Roll call have their cabin numbers. The agent told me it could take 10 days, so I will have to be patient. We had a JS on Indy and I would love to be moved to a JS on Odyssey, have you seen the prices they are charging for JS, incredible!

I was told by the agent on Friday it would all be done by Tuesday! We were in a Promenade Spacious room...we literally just booked it last week!  Just by looking it doesn't appear that any rooms on Odyssey fit 5 other than the GS 2 bedroom and the loft suite.  Anthem has a bunch of Family JS ( we have one booked later in the year).  I just had a friend who tried to l&S to Odyssey from Explorer in an Ultra Spacious OV and they wouldn't allow it b/c  there is no cabin cat on Odyssey but the agent I spoke to said that it is a redeployment  so it is different than a L&S so we would most likely get two cabins.  I have to be patient but it makes me nervous!

  9. So I called right on Friday and spoke to a great agent of the phone who reassured me that we would have no issue getting placed on Odyssey b/c I was nervous b/c we were in a cabin cat that isn't available on Odyssey....well fast forward everyone in the FB group has been assigned their new rooms on Odyssey and we haven't.  We are a family of 5 with three minor children so we have to be together or in two cabins next to one another or across from one another.  Well I just checked my acct on royal's site and it looks like we were placed on teh Indy out of Tx for the same week.  Well I didn't consent to that and nor do I have any wish to sail out of Tx.  I have been on hold for over 2 hours....did this happen to anyone else??????

On top of the ongoing problems, Trinidad is now in a COVID state of emergency with nighttime curfew.

Add to all the horrors of sewage, theft, scamming, fraud,  corruption, the percentage of residents refusing to be vaccinated against COVID is “quoted” by the Government as over 60%, but in truth it’s over 75%.  So much so, my friend left the country after returning from his hospital, where he was a consultant eye surgeon, to find his house looted, furniture and clothing gone.

Luckily his wife and children we’re already safely out of the country.

Thank you for the feedback, I guess I will keep the reservation for Trinidad and I will decide closer to the vacation.  I just don't want to feel unsafe and God forbid something happen.

  11. I know this is an old post so hoping someone sees this!!! We are hopefully going to Trinidad and Tobago on our NYE cruise this year....we plan on staying at the hilton in Trinidad for the day and just using the pool and the grounds..do you think this is safe.  We will be traveling with my older in laws ( late 60s) and my small children ( 12, 9, 5)......After reading these posts, I am thinking of just staying on the ship!! We have tours booked for some of the other ports that seem wonderful but after reading this post I am a little suspect of T&T! Thanks for in advance for reading and responding!!

  12. We always stay in the 1ks and we have stayed in one big JS on adventure, and we are staying in a family JS on Anthem next year (hopefully!).  My friend has stayed in the 1ks before and they are awesome but we all have three kids so space is needed.  If it is just you, your hubby and toddler I think I would go for the JS for the $50 price difference. You get double C&A points and a bathtub!

Also the 1K may be noisy for a 2 year old next to the Rock Climbing wall if he/she wants to take a nap or go to bed early.

Where did you see the list of the new ports?
I’m on an 8 night also.

It was posted earlier in this thread...we are on 5/8 and we are going to Aruba, Curacau (spelling), DR and Perfect day.  We were suppose to be doing Antigua, St Kitts and perfect day on Brillance...but I am ok with the change due the total upgrade in ship!

  14. I am actually pretty excited about these changes. We were doing the 8 day out of Miami on Brilliance in May and we love the ship but were nervous how our kids would like it but we said a cruise is a cruise so they better just like it. Well Independence will be such  better option for them!  I am a little mad about the change in ports b/c I feel like I have done AC route before but oh well!
