Interesting about the speeds. I'll be anxious to hear how it is throughout the cruise. Out of curiosity I decided to run a test from my hotel room at Hyatt at DFW airport - The internet seemed perky but was blown away by the speeds. As we all know hotels speeds can be pretty bad also. I'll see how Apex is tomorrow -

I received my reject upgrade today for our April 15 Apex cruise. I'm in a CS and they did have a RS open up 5 days prior to the cruise. The mid-range price of the upgrade was $1,500 more expensive than what I could have called and paid for an upgrade. Really out of sync with reality for this cruise.

Not sure of his conditions but I have been in some rooms that have a Source button on the in-room remote. If yours does have one you can just press the source button and shift between sources. Even in the same suite I have had one that has it and one that doesn't. 90% of the Ships remotes I've see do not have a source button. I board Apex on Saturday so can update my experience on Apex

Normally I use a Firestick to access online streaming content like Netflix, YouTube and YouTube TV. I also have a Plex Server on my laptop and can stream from my library of programs and movies from my Firestick or Roku.

I wanted to point out that for any streaming device you need a wifi connection. Firestick is rather difficult to get to a Captive Logon Page - It is suppose to pup up a window but as much as I've tried not been successful. A Roku is a bit easier as it has a pup up that guides you through logging on via a webpage on you and a confirmation code. The easiest way to get your Firestick is to create a hotspot on you laptop and first log onto your wifi account and then connect your Firesteick to your hotspot. Also be aware that if you are out of the country you may also need to use a VPN to make the site believe you are in the U.S.

Does Celebrity allow you to bring back baked goods to the ship.

I've seen people being denied bringing food back aboard in Nice but it was in a plastic bag. I believe that if you had it in you Back Pack and wasn't visible you could probably get it aboard. -
Thanks all for all the suggestions. At least with a good solid booking I'll check in tomorrow on and keep an eye on conditions. I'm pretty confident we will make it and when I called Chase Saphire they said their travel interruption insurance will cover the additional hotel nights. I've never filed a claim with them before so should be interesting.

Well we have made it to DFW and overnight at the Hyatt DFW. Absolutely beautiful evening here. We have a confirmed reservation into Miami for tomorrow.... I'm feeling better about going into Miami. I'm currently watching the WPLG Local 10 in Miami and looks like rains are still coming down pretty heavy. Broward County have cancelled schools for tomorrow. Latest forecast is for FLL to remain closed until at least 5:30 am. Since we don't have a flight until 6PM I inquired about 1/2 day rates. The clerk was really helpful and said they don't offer them but if I went to daystays.com I could book a 1/2 day through them for Hyatt Regency DFW. Really a good site and in 10 minutes I had a reservation so we can stay in our room unitl about 1 1/2 hours prior to our flight.

Cunard is definitely designed for North Atlantic cruising and because of the design is built for speed and smoother crossing. The majority of their TA's are 7 day crossing and don't include any ports along the way. If I were looking for just a crossing it might be a consideration. They also sail the North Atlantic route which is known to be rough an often cold and rainy. Even in really high seas you are going to feel a lot of motion. When it comes to hitting high seas Cunard may be a bit smoother but are also heavily impacted by high seas and winds. Two years ago with a huge storm brewing we were diverted south of the Azores - Apex was in front of us and even Queen Mary was behind us. Should also point out Only QM2 is a Ocean Liner in service on Cunard other ships are cruising ships.

Ugh.... It's going to be a wild day for sure. Just got a call that they will be keeping FLL closed all day. I immediately jumped on the line to AA and as you can expect the lines are clogged. Luckily I had a premium number that helped. All flight to all origin airports near us and in the Miami / FLL area are totally sold. Best I can do is fly today to DFW and overnight in DFW. The only flight I could get doesn't depart Dallas until 8:00 PM Friday getting in around 11:00 PM
