So glad you enjoyed the Hyatt Place.....and yes they will usually check you in when you arrive if room is ready...so this varies...just a matter timing.
Now I just need March 2019 rates to show up [emoji6]

Update: I called the Hyatt front desk this morning to confirm my reservation which they did have on file. I asked them to email me a copy of the confirmation so I could have it on hand. Looks like we're all set but I never did receive a confirmation via Valuetrips.
For those that have stayed at the Hyatt - do they really charge $30 for a check-in prior to 3pm? That's what it says on my confirmation? Our flight arrives around 12:30pm so I think we'd be at the hotel around 1:30pm. I guess we could always have lunch some nearby before checking in.
We had a similar experience to you in that we received confirmation from the hotel before VT got back to us. We eventually heard back from VT about a month after submitting our initial request. All worked out. We stayed at the Hyatt on August 12th and we were happy with the pre-cruise accommodations.
Our flight got into FLL at 1pm on the 12th. We were at the hotel before 2pm and they checked us in right away. No additional charges [emoji4]

That's about what we're paying for our Star on Oasis in March. Four people.
I looked at some other prices for just the two of us for 2020.
A Star Loft was around 7K+ PP.
We got our Star Loft on Harmony (march 2019) for a bit less...$12,375 for the 4 of us. But again, this includes KSF, star savings of $1000; and TA discounts.

Yes. $12,700 and some. I should also include that when we booked in January there was a Star savings of $1000 and I also got a significant TA discount. But still good enough of a deal to make me grab it. Especially since it's after dry dock.

How many people on that $3000 PP booking? Four?
Yes 3 adults, 1 child

Unfortunately, my daughter is a teacher so we are stuck with end of June - 3rd week in August. :(

I am a teacher too. Also stuck with summer and March [emoji17] I currently have 2 SC bookings. Both are in March. Summer prices are crazy!

Mac..you might want to check Oasis prices just before and after dry dock. I was able to book 9730 on Oasis for March 2020 for about $3000pp. It will be even lower if we can get KSF again. I booked in January this year. Prices have stayed pretty consistent since January.

My memory isn’t as good as I thought. :D
Not your memory...I feel like they have changed the price of these cabanas a lot over the last year and a half or so. I can't keep track either. I'm pretty sure the last time I was in Labadee last summer, the price was more around your ballpark Andrew. Oh well, Hubby likes the the beach, and I will only stay if there is a cabana...so that's the compromise [emoji6]
My thanks to both of you. Exactly the type of information I was looking for. It's both good and bad news. The Good. One of the things my wife is looking forward to is a more casual and relaxing dining experience. I'll bet we have all our dinners on the balcony.
The Bad. I'll need to budget more for Star Class cruises.
I second that! This thread is full of useful tips. Thanks to Amy and Mac! And rocketman...you are not the only one. I have curbed my spending considerably since booking Star Class [emoji38]

I know someone questioned why teachers should receive a discount. I think I figured it out. Teachers can only cruise when the ships are filled with child passengers running about. (I knew a teacher who went on a cruise for her honeymoon and ran right into some of her middle school students at embarkation!) Teachers find it nearly impossible to ignore children who are misbehaving around them--especially if their behavior is dangerous. By enticing teachers to cruise along with all of these kids, MSC is getting all kinds of extra help with supervision! If the parents won't keep an eye on their kids, the teachers won't be able to stop themselves from speaking up. Brilliant!! ;)
I love this thinking!! [emoji6]

It was close to or over $400 in March. My mind is thinking $395 but that could be old pricing. If my memory is correct OTW Cadanas are closer to $500.The Waterfront cabanas, B1 and B2 are $495.
Standard Cabanas S1 - S9 are $395
Hilltop and Over the Water cabana la are $595.

Amybk27...earlier when you mentioned that your genie arranged ice skating for your daughter, was that a private session or she just made sure she got into a session that was already being offered?

Does anyone have the kids menu for Jamies Italian? Contemplating going on Mariner of the Seas. Not looking for the chicken nugget/french fry menu, looking for the restaurant specific kids menu.
Will Jamies on Mariner be a la carte or fixed price cover? If a la carte how does pricing work for kids under 5 that would otherwise be free at specialty dining?
Here it is LMaxwell [emoji4]

I'm somewhat concerned about this Star Class thingy. We usually book suites but it looks like this is such a cut above that my cost of cruising is going way up. Very much like when we booked our first suite after several balcony class cruises.
I too am afraid there is no coming back from this level of cruising [emoji45][emoji4]

Definitely interested! We'll be sailing our first Star Class sailing in March on Harmony in a Star Loft! Any info is good info. There hasn't been a live Star Class review for a while so excited to follow along.
And mac_tlc...looking forward to your scopes [emoji4]

Actually this gives me no idea of when a Bella cabin will get off. I know YC people are escorted off early. I really need to hear from a someone in the "cheap seats". Thanks anyway though.
We got off at 8am and there were lots of people disembarking at that time (not in YC).

Here is the disembarkation memo from the July 21st sailing:
It's for YC but it might give you some idea for timeline?

If you walk forward from 16007, you cannot access the lounge from there. Also, to reach the elevator, you would have to walk right after exiting your cabin (towards the aft) and head down the hallway and then back out to a main hallway that holds the elevator. You cannot simply cut across the hall. There is a wall there. Here are some scopes I did of the YC inside areas from last week. Hope they help. The "wine & cocktails" area is not part of the YC. The bank of elevators just next to that is also not part of the YC.

I found your forum a few days ago. I was not on your rollcall. My wife and I have done the YC on Divina. Our experience was so awesome. We go on Seaside YC this December. Your livecast was awesome. I read almost every post. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sacrificing your time for others enjoyment. I will now download the periscope app. Blessings to you.
Honestly, I throughly enjoyed every part of it. It's not a sacrifice at all. If I wasn't blogging or scoping, I would have my nose in a book. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your kind words [emoji4]

We still haven't cruised Royal Caribbean and I'm a bit hesitant to try which sounds crazy... somehow it feels like I should at some point try to build up some loyalty on one line or another. Anyway, I really appreciate the thoughts about comparing DCL to MSC. Next year we will be on DCL for a transatlantic and I really wanted to book DCL for the Med too, but instead we are doing the MSC Seaview. Just compared prices now.... DCL concierge is literally 3x the price of our YC room on the Seaview. Even if my kids hate the kids club on MSC [they do love it on DCL] I couldn't justify that price. Thanks again for sharing, Sabrina!
Now that my kids are older (10/12), I cannot, in any way, justify the cost of a Disney cruise. Even the last one we took in December we felt that we have outgrown that cruise line and that our money goes further elsewhere.
