I used to have spikes  and still have two pairs of Gina evening shoes, in their boxes, which I can't bear to part with. Memories of bygone days.

I'd break my ankle in them now! 😄

I have a pair of Jimmy Choo's that haven't seen my feet in 20 years but I hold on to them because they cost more than my first car.

Sounding out opinion on this one, but what I will actually do I will decide!

My son married a girl from Mauritius, so I have two jackets I bought for the wedding, which was Hindu.

The first is  gold and red, so I am considering it for a 'Red and Gold' night.  Leaving aside any discussion of cultural appropriation(*), how would people react, given it is obviously not a tuxedo?

    Red and Gold Jacket

(*) I should say we got approval from daughter-in-law and several other family members before we bought our clothes.

Are you on Elizebeth for red and gold night next week? If you are you should find me! I have fire engine red hair. Can't be missed!

  3. I haven't been on Cunard in more than a decade. Back then it was a formal dress every night.  It sounds like the dress code has changed drastically. I am disappointed that I won't get to see my partner in a tux every night but he is excited to wear a tshirt and jacket for dinner. I don't want to stand out like a sore thumb. Can I wear white jeggings and a fancy top to dinner? Do people wear athletic shoes in the dining room? When I searched for dress code there was mention of "shoe gate" Are they picky about shoes?

I was just going to say the same thing. I originally thought OP was asking so they could limit spending. Haha. Nope! I want to be adopted, too! 🤣

My child doesn't want children so I have no grandchildren to spoil so I still spoil the grown child. If your willing to knock out a few grandchildren for me I might consider your offer 🙂 😀

  5. I feel like I should know the answer to this but I don't. I am taking my adult son and daughter in law on a cruise. I want to take care of any of their expenses on board. Can I just put my credit card down on their room or does the card have to be in their name? If it has to be in their name does anyone know what the amount is they authorize per day? I know I could ask princess but waiting on hold is exhausting

    Thanks!

I’m really hoping that Good Spirts can make a Ramos Gin Fizz. I’m sailing 12/11. Fingers crossed.

they don't have orange blossom water. BUT I brought my own orange blossom water (I also use it as a facial toner) when I was on Holland and the bartender made it for me so I am going to try again on Princess. It is my very favorite drink

  7. We usually order pesos from our bank but we forgot! I've seen expose news shows report on fake cash machines and fraudulent transaction fees. Does that really happen or is it hype? Has anyone used cash machines in Cabo successfully?

  8. I've literally gotten 3 answers from 3 different representatives in 3 days (and hence given my clients 3 different answers that might all be wrong.

Can someone who is onboard or just got back tell me if princess is allowing people off the ship if they don't book an excursion and if yes are they letting you take independent excursions? I really can't believe that the "current" training has conflicting answers and the staff doesn't even know!

While I would call a Princess Rep or PVP, this is not something to bother a TA with IMO.  TA's do not have access to the MC App nor the system for it.  They only have access to POLAR.

As a TA I absolutely think it is my job to advocate for my clients and do the work of escalating until I get resolution.

The OM either works or it doesn't ... most pax don' have access to a team such as that used by the OP to shake the developers loose and get problematic accounts fixed one by one by one.

That's why I posted. I really want to know how bad it is so I can try to use the resources I am lucky enough to have

  11. I feel so blessed to be able to afford vacations and it really brings so much joy to our lives. My partner and I have the in for a penny in for a pound rule when it comes to cruises. We always book the balcony, if we get at it before they are all gone the deluxe ones on the aft. You are already spending a few thousand dollars, whats a few hundred more to make it perfect?

  12. Oh my goodness! My 14 month ordeal is finally over just in time for my cruise. My medallion ap just would not load my cruise no matter who tried it and no matter what phone. I was on the phone to Princess once a week for a couple hours as they tried to figure out the problem. They kept hoping each new update would fix it. Each time the update didn't help they escalated it to their supervisor team. Finally, after getting my franchise owner, our business development manager and his manager involved someone called the developer and they fixed it!! My information was parsed wrong in the reservation. Nothing wrong with the ap, just the way that my reservation was!

It took so much persistence (47 phone calls and over 100 emails) and I am so grateful to my franchise owner for really pushing them to fix it. I just really hope that everyone else is fairing better with the ap than I did.
Did everyone else finally get the ap to work or are people still having problems?

  13. I always purchase my own insurance because it covers you for the whole trip not just the cruise. I have to park my car at the airport, rent a car at my destination, stay at a hotel, get on the cruise and everything else on reverse. Travel insurance (we use travelex) covers you from the time you leave your door to the time you get back if anything at all goes wrong with any of the steps

That is true.  No access to casino, Solarium, balcony only in theater and no mytime dinning.

.I would rather not be chosen for that.

I spoke to some of the RC staff and it sounds like they were the ones who got designated as non-vaccinated but they were pretty chipper anyway on account of getting PTO to go on a free cruise.

Everyone here is so cheerful today I think everyone will have fun
