Spending 1 hour watching a TV show out of a 7 day cruise is no worse than spending hours of the day smoking and sitting in front of a slot machine dishing out cash to the RCI fund.

Whatever someone likes to do for fun on a cruise should be entirely up to them and judgement free.  I'd rather go for a root canal than sit and play bingo on a ship, but they still have lots of participants and they are more than welcome to play.  As long as they don't force me to play... I see problem.

Yes i agree , our cruise is after GOT final so we don't have that problem , but was thinking about taking a usb memory with maybe some series on it , probably will not be watched, but from what i am reading we can't get to input to beable to use it  , we will be on Seranade , i have seen apps that are supposed to work as remotes no idea if they work.

Just a small correction. It's not the metro you can take from Copenhagen Central Station to Østerport, but the S-trains (there's a train every other minute during the daytime). When the metro opens sometime later in 2019, that will be an option too.

It's a 20-30 minute walk from The Little Mermaid to Nyhavn along the harbour. You can take a tiny detour via Amaliehaven, Amalienborg and The Marble Church/Frederiks Church.

The Kings Garden is also an option, as you mentioned. This is a popular place for locals to hang out when the weather is good.

Harbour buses are an integrated part of the public transport system, so public transport tickets and passes are also valid on the harbour buses.

The admission to Tivoli Gardens is DKK 130, around EUR 17. Think 1 EUR is approx. 7.5 DKK.

Thankyou , when i looked at it i was trying to work out if it was a train or metro , you have cleared it up for me .

  3. We hope to arrive at our hotel about 14.00 so we have the afternoon to do sightseeing , due to a flight change we lost a whole day in Copenhagen , we are staying near main station i see we can get a metro from there to Osterport and walk from there to the Kastellet and the Mermaid , we would then like to go to Nyhavn how would be the best way to get there ? i wonder about walking to The Kings Garden  and then down Gothersgade?

I have just read about the harbour bus , i am thinking this could be an option for us , is it included in the basic transport 24 hour ticket that we will be getting?

I am wondering about the Tivoli Gardens , its very near our hotel am i right calculating its about 14 euros for the basic entrance ticket ? then rides extra .

    Thanks again for your help.

  4. I have just checked and 3 days after making direct payment we received an 18 page pdf with the full info of cruise including the docking area in port , a list of the ports where we are calling and if we dock or tender and general terms and conditions , a different document than when we book that had less info .

I hope ta sorts it for you soon .

  5. We won't have drink package , but abit worried about drinking alot of the water in fountains due to reading about people swelling up , if we buy online the evian package will this be in our stateroom when we arrive ? and would the normal thing be to take a bottle in at lunch ? in the evening we will buy wine. I had originally thought it was a 12 pack of 500 ml bottles but seeing they are litre bottles it's not a bad deal.

    TIA

  6. I live and my cruise is in Europe i know my online spendings will be in dollars ,i have a prepaid card that holds different currencys so i have put dollars on it to cover what we spend onboard but i think when we board we may have to register a credit card ,but i am presuming even if registered my credit card i would beable to go the night before and ask them to charge to my prepaid card.ls this correct? .

I would contact whoever booked your cruise and confirm the correct birth dates are on the reservation.

I will contact call center we booked direct ,have looked on my paperwork and no birthdate on there only comes up on the app .I am wondering if its something to do with age at day of travel ,that they make you of age a day before birthday.

If you choose Nørreport then a map will show up.

For some reason 25 is not marked but it is the bus stops infront of Tornebuskgade.

    https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/trafikkort/her-holder-bussen/

If you take public transport to the airport then I will suggest that you get of Østerport if you are on the 25 or simply just take bus 27 to the end of the line.

From Østerport you can catch a airport train every 10th minute.

They are more comfy than the metro from Nørreport.

Thankyou for your help , on our arrival we are going to get the basic 24 hours travel card as we will be in Copenhagen the day before our cruise , i wonder if we should also get one or just pay for the bus and then the train for our trip from port to airport, i presume the best thing would maybe to be buy the tickets for this return trip the day we are in Copenhagen before our cruise.

  9. i think the 25 bus from Norreport is the best option for us as it's in walking distance of our hotel , is the bus stop clearly marked ? as on google maps i cant see exactly where it is.

when we return our first thought was a taxi to airport , but seen as we have time as our flight is at lunchtime which is the best route on public transport.

    TIA

If you program Wifi repeaters this thing should be a breeze for you. As Host Clarea mentioned..Do the initial set up at home .. You would probably want to set up it's repeater mode (WISP) to repeat the ship's Wifi. Once on board set it up to pick up the ship's signal and then you log into your router. I purchased the GL.iNET GL-MT300N-V2 Mini Travel Router, Repeater Bridge, 300Mbps High Performance, 128MB RAM (Version 2) from Amazon. You will need to power it with a USB connection to a charger or a small portable battery pack works well if you are by the pool or away from your room. That should do it.... Good luck

Thats a great help thankyou , i have managed to find that one i had previously been looking at the TL-WR902AC tp link . I have battery packs as i find them a must when travelling , also great to use at home if you have to go out and battery is low , i have 2 smaller ones and a rav power larger one that has always worked well .

Yes... Amazon has them as low as $20.00.. the only thing is everyone sharing must be within distance of the router but it will definitely do the job. You just have to have a little knowledge on how to set it up and how to log in... really not too difficult. Good luck!!

Can it be set up before at home ?or does it have to be when onboard .My idea was to try and do it at home so not to have to spend to much time with it on cruise ,i program wifi repeaters at work so think i should be able to do it no problem , which make have you used ?

I am not sure what she has to do with this.....she is only 20.  She can't drink on Royal ships and wouldn't need to buy the package.

    6&8

We are booking from Spain and when i clicked to buy it came up for the 3 of us not sure if also could be because its a European cruise.

At that price break even is about 3.5 cocktails a day.  To me that is a no brainer.  A mimosa, two day drinks and a drink at dinner and you are even.  Add in the water, fresh juice, etc and there is almost no way to not break even unless you do not drink at all.  For me being able to try random drinks without risk is the best part of the package.  I recommend you buy at that price.

    6&8

If it was just the 2 of us travelling probably yes but our 20 year old daughter will be with us and at the most she will drink one cocktail a day .

Not sure how "tech savvy" you are, but if you bring a travel router you can share a single plan with multiple users at the same time by logging into your router after the router obtains the ships IP address.

Have you done this recently ,i am thinking of getting one before our trip .

  15. If we are 3 in a balcony cabin will the balcony have 3 chairs? or might there not be room for 3 chairs?

Can we ask for extra blankets?

How are the beds on Serenade? i hear mixed reports on Royal beds being confortable .

If we are 3 and have sofa plus pullman , which is likely to be made up for use ? we would probably prefer the pullman.

Do seasick bands work? on a previous cruise we bought one pair for my son that will not be travelling this time with us , so i have those and am thinking of buying another 2 pairs just incase , on previous cruise i was fine onboard when i got off ship was the problem i felt the ground was moving i was like that for about a week but didnt really bother me.

    TIA

I decided on these ones in the end , have used them a couple of times here when we go out walking and seem to be fine , i hope they are suitable for our cruise as have read mixed reports on the 10x or 8 x being better.

  17. i didnt really plan on booking any of the excursions but now i see for one of our stops could be the only option , i will be keeping an eye on the price currently at 131 euros , how do prices compare once on ship i imagine alot depends on how many spare places there are , i'm also worried about the weather as says go ahead unless there is snow and i'm not sure about a hike in pouring rain.

  18. Thanks for all the help , i think the taxi going up would be the only solution and then maybe get the bus down , i will look into the RCI tour but i know when i looked before it said tour goes ahead whatever the weather conditions other than snow , and i'm not sure i want to do a 4 hour hike if its pouring with rain , i do realise at worst scenario we could have to catch up with the ship in the next port , which is Kristiansand which i'm not really bothered about visiting :classic_rolleyes:
