  1. Yes I agree. The people that I talked to that had problems had back surgery a long time ago. I am sure things are better and improved. I guess we need to research more. Who is best to do that surgery, a neurosurgeon?
  2. Thanks for the info. I need to find out more from Linda who she has seen, and research surgeons. She has just been treating it with injections. It may be time to go to the next level and find a a good surgeon.
  3. Yeah Bob I'm not sure either. I heard so many horror stories of people who had back surgery that had more issues after surgery. I would like to find someone who has the same issues as my wife who had surgery and can tell their experiences.
  4. Im glad they put you under. I wish they all did that. Sorry to hear that about your husband. I hope he feels better soon.
  5. Looks like a great birthday celebration. Tell Micheline happy birthday from Sea Dog. I need to learn how to make my own pasta. My aunt used to do that and you could taste the difference. It was amazing. I’m glad she love’s Halloween. Next to Christmas, Halloween is my second favorite. I used to do a huge Halloween light display at my house every year. I don’t do it anymore and gave most of my props to charity. Now I wish I kept all that as being retired I have the time to do it again. On another note, how’s Micheline’s back? She had back surgery right? I think Linda is going to need the same surgery as she has a slipped disc and spinal stenosis.
  6. Have a great cruise. I will be interested in hearing from you which dining rooms and or specialty restaurants you dine at and how you liked them? We will be on Beyond for our first Celebrity cruise in April. Trying to decide which restaurants to book.
  7. I appreciate all your hard work. My comment was more for the people who want to try this cocktail and what they should expect. I like your next idea for a project.
  8. Unfortunately that recipe is a poor excuse for a Mai Tai. Granted there several versions from the original Victor Burgeon’s 1944 Trader Vic’s cocktail. 1 lime 1/2 ounce orange curaçao 1/4 ounce rock candy syrup 1/4 ounce orgeat syrup 2 ounces Trader Vic Mai Tai rum or 1 ounce dark Jamaica rum and 1 ounce Martinique rum I imagine some of the substitutions are because I never see Orgeat and Orange Curacao on board. I’ll be curious to try it to see how far off it is. Bottom line have a true Mai Tai is excellent. It’s such a great well balanced cocktail. I’m a big fan of Kevin Crossman’s site, The Search For The Ultimate Mai Tai: https://ultimatemaitai.com I have experimented and found that this recipe is the best and closely resembles Victor’s original recipe. Ultimate Mai Tai Recipe ½ oz Appleton Estate Rare Casks Aged 12 Years ½ oz Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaica Rum ½ oz Plantation OFTD ½ oz Plantation Xaymaca 1 oz Lime Juice ½ oz Orgeat (Latitude 29) ½ oz Orange Curacao (Ferrand Dry Curacao) ¼ oz Demerara Syrup (BG Reynolds) Garnish with mint sprig and spent lime shell Cheers!
  9. I wish I didn’t have to rely on th elevators but I will have to use them extensively on our October cruise as my left knee just can’t do well on stairs unless I do on stair at a time with my other knee. I look weird doing stairs that way. Takes me forever.
  10. Thanks Debbie! I am already on Tamulosin//Flomax. I did take a Hydrocodone that I had from my knee replacement for pain that helped a little. When I had my knee replacement I was on Toradol in the hospital. It was great stuff.
  11. It’s doing really well. Therapy has been going good and the therapist is pleased. Got an injection in her back to help her get through the cruise. I wish there was something better to do for her back than back surgery.
  12. Thanks Deb, I think I passed it last night as I feel better today. Still really tired and worn out. That was the most painful one I’ve ever had.
