  1. Hi,

Im new to NCL so i'm not sure of all the ins and out. I was in looking at our sailing today and see the price has dropped. We are less than a month out so I know I cant get the price difference. However the OV guarantee are the same price as our inside room. I could pic my own OV cabin for a little more than my inside.

    - Can I call and ask to be upgraded?

Will I loose by "choices" I was given at original booking?

    - is it worth it?

Now I dont mind insides. We had an OV once and did not find it worth the extra. I either do insides or go balcony. The window was nice but not needed.

I know on some ships the OV is a bit larger than in insides. Not sure if true on the Jade.

Any other words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Being new to NCL I could be wrong so please forgive me.

We booked our cruise and had the choice of 2 promo's we did the drinks (duh) and dining. I think I'm figuring out how the dining works by all the research Ive done. Though I keep reading the Jade has gone on to a al carte menu vs the normal menus.

Does anyone have copies of the new menus? I'm trying to decide where to book. Also which places my son might want to join us for dinner. i dont want to pay for dinners he may not enjoy. He is pretty plain jane burger and fry guy.

    Thanks in advance

  3. enjoying this review. Ive always wanted to do a Chartered trip especially a music one!! Once day I will suck it up and do it and deal with the sticker shock later. I know its really not as bad as the sticker price once you include the cruise and concert tickets but ..... Maybe when the kids stop cruising with us

  4. We are sailing on the Jade in March. I see they have a few tours for debarkation day that drop you off at the airport. Seems like a nobrainer considering the cost of transportation. But what worries me is we have a 330 flight and the discription says for flights after 330. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks in advance

  5. Just wondering if there is anything like Carnival's Luggage express on the Jade, We have a later flight out and would be super nice to not have to lug our bags with us for the day if we decide not to sit at the airport all day. Or maybe they have excursions that will kill time and drop us off at the airport after.

  6. Well, based on some not-so-cryptic posting by the band in question, NK Mafia has discovered that it was New Kids on the Block who chartered.

Well if it true I'm thrilled we dodged that bullet!! I'm not a boy band fan at all and have a special dislike towards that band. I suffered enough as a teen sharing a room with a sister who loved them. If it was not a full charter I would of envoked the satisfaction guarantee to get off if I could of waited that long. Swimming back may of been an option.

  7. You could get some of those individual flavoring powders - like Crystal Light - and add to water bottles for the kids. I know my grocery has quite a few different types from lemonades to sports drinks.

We thought the water was quite reasonable at $2.99 for a 12 pack delivered to your cabin and awaiting your arrival. Same price if you need more than you ordered pre-cruise. Comes out to $0.25 a bottle - not worth dragging it aboard for that price. :D

I wouldn't put any sort of drinks in checked luggage. If one pops open your clothes (not to mention those of anybody unlucky enough to have their suitcase below yours on the delivery carts) will be drenched in sweet yuck.

We always bring Mio to spruce up our water or make drink in our room. I agree for 2.99 its not worth lugging it. We just might order extra but the grandkids love there juice bags. Waters they take one drink and are done.. lol

  8. I have not cruised since the no bottle rule went into effect but planning our cruise for 10/2016. We will carry on a few 12 packs of soda as we are Pepsi fans. I will buy a case of water for the room now that its semi affordable. Of course my bottle of wine.

I was wondering though is it possible to bring juice bags/boxes on for the kids?

I know on the ship we will have no issue finding the kids a drink. I will even pack a bottle or two of water in our bag for excursions - but that gets heavy. And often finding a drink is easy on shore and many excursions have water/punch available.

I was thinking our day at HMC it would be nice to bring off juice bags or something for the kids. I know we can go to the food area for water/lemonade but that not uber convenient. We will get a cabana which does come with some beverages which is nice. But small juice bags would be better for our family.
