I've checked and we still have the weeks to wait. Not holding my breath after reading the above though.

Pullmantur/RCL were to refund fares and deposits for cancelled Pullmantur cruises. My TA says that our application was received by RCL, but we have not yet received our deposit refund. has anyone?
Our cancelled cruise was a Mediterranean cruise and we have been able to book a Celebrity cruise for next year with almost the same itinerary but for a huge difference in price. We hope that one will still sail (safely).
We applied for our refund and were told it would be paid in 90 days. I think we're at 70 days and counting at the moment.

Pullmantur have been posting on their Facebook page that they are coming back. They are asking opinions on what customers want or would be happy paying.
Given that all their ships were scrapped I wonder if they managed to clear their debts. Either way they are going to need new ships, perhaps one of the many Carnival Corp ships that are being sold or a couple of the older Royal ones?
That's very interesting. Their website in Spain is telling a different story. They are still offering for sale the original itineraries and all aboard the ships that are currently being scrapped on the beach in Turkey. If you look at the most recent photographs of Sovereign the bow has gone!"

From what I gather, they are sold "as-is, all accessories included".
So the decorations on the Blue Iguana bar, for example, get sold with the ship, can't be removed by crew as souvenirs. Which is too bad - I'd pay more than a few bucks for those ceramic (resin?) Blue Iguanas and Red Frogs!
You had better get yourself over to Aliaga then. From other videos of the operation there, it seems the streets nearby have stalls and shops selling the bits and bobs coming off these ships.

I was hoping to sail on her again before she was sold. Time moves on but I have a lot of fond memories of the three times we sailed on her.
I am surprised that the Inspiration still had her lifeboats still on.
There are four ships side by side and all arrived with their lifeboats. Those from the two ships of Pullmantur were soon removed and I've no doubt those from the Carnival shops will follow.

YouTuber El Rincón del Tripulante has shared a video of Carnival's Fantasy being broken up, but in the opening seconds is a glimpse of the sorry state of Sovereign minus her bow.

I've never cruised with Carnival, but I do realise that there many of you with happy memories of their time on board. Fantasy and Inspiration are now beached at Aliaga, Turkey and being broken up. YouTuber El Rincón del Tripulante has kindly shared a video from Fantasy of how she is looking right now... Sad!
Normally when I post a video, I end with the word "Enjoy", but not this time. -
Yup. Same here though they told us 90 days. No problem with flights for us as it was a fly cruise.

So it is. I missed that. Curiouser and curiouser!

@Skipper Tim Pullmantur called back to ask if we had made any decision regarding our situation. She was referring to the offer to move across to RCL with a decision date of 20 September. We had a chat during which she confirmed that at the moment we had three options :
1. Move over to RCL with an FCC of the amount paid +20%.
2. Take a cash refund now.
3. Hang onto our future booking with Pullmantur moving the deposit over + the OBC which in our case would be €100.
Her advice was to take the refund now, but we have until 20 Sept to think about it.
There has been no movement as far as the reorganisation concerned and she didn't anticipate anything in the near future. She did say that she doubted highly that they would be in a position to recommence operations on 15 November due to the lengthy reorganisation procedure and she had no idea when they could possibly be back on the water.
I didn't think to ask what would happen if we stuck with our booking for May 2021 and they finally failed totally. I think we both know the answer to that one already, but I have emailed her anyway.
Watch this space...

While I think she's still just south of Eleusis at anchorage, Pullmantur is no longer an option for cruise lines on cruisemapper and Horizon is no longer displayed by default - she does show up if you search specifically for her, though there seems to be no update in the last two days.
Marine Traffic has her at anchor in the Bay of Elefsina.

@Smurf2017, Very interesting! Well the obvious one for me is will the current itineraries from 15th November be operating as advertised? And if so, on what ships? Or when will we know such information? That would be great, many thanks for asking me.
You're welcome. I'll get back to you later, hopefully!

She's back at anchor today in the Gulf of Elefsina.
@Skipper Tim I missed a call earlier from Pullmantur in Spain and now on tenterhooks to see what they wanted. My currently furloughed contact says they might be checking up to see if we had come to a decision yet on our vouchers. That's odd as we have already used them to book for next year. We'll see, but while I'm waiting for my call back, are there any questions that you have that I can put to them?

On a more positive note, I had a reply from Pullmantur this morning for my request for any information. Here it is.
Good Morning,
We inform you that Pullmantur's intention with this reorganization is to be able to operate in the future in the same way that we have been doing up to now. With the same itineraries. To do any management regarding your reservation, you have to contact your travel agency and it can inform you of the different options you have.
Thank you very much,Pagos Venta Directa

This piece from the Travel Trade Gazette published at midday does not affect Pullmantur directly but must help.

Our friend El Rincon del Tripulante has posted a very brief video showing the speed with which they are dismantling Sovereign.
Do you think they maybe be making a gap large enough to squeeze Horizon into? The current destination shows as Piraeus, but she has been bobbing around off the coast of Greece since 6th August now.

Thanks for that Biker19.
It is little weird that Pullmantur and their agents Worldwide continue to sell cruises on all three of these ships. People right now are choosing cabins on ships currently being dismantled on a beach in Turkey.
I've just spoken to Pullmantur UK and enquired about a 2021 cruise on Sovereign. A very amiable person said that the current situation was that:
1. That Pullmantur was in administration, but they were anticipating (hoping!) a favourable outcome and that RCCL would transfer some ships across to become the new Pullmantur fleet. He did not have any new news regarding Grandeur of the Seas.
2. They are accepting bookings for all cruises in the current programme from November 2020 onwards, but were not able to allocate cabins and that all were 'Guarantee'.
3. I specified a particular cruise and the prices he quoted were 3 - 6% above what is showing on the UK website. He cited the fact that the site wasn't 'live pricing' and would eventually change.
4. They are asking for a deposit of £150 p.p and balance 90 days out.
A very nice agent to deal with, but I have always found that to be the case with Pullmantur UK and Spain.
While our lovely old fleet is having a beach holiday in Turkey (Monarch & Sovereign) or bobbing around off the coast of Greece (Horizon), we have to wait.

It is very odd for any cruise ship with no guests and a skeleton crew to make a week's round trip from one part of the EU to another. This is not the case of repatriating crew.
Given Cyprus's geographical position, perhaps drug running, people smuggling or some other cargo necessitating a one-off private charter?
Anything to make a quick buck and stay afloat!

Here is vídeo off Fantasy arriving. If you look across to Sovereign and Monarch you'll see they haven't wasted any time with the the dismantling and the lifeboats are already gone. There is a pile of them on the dockside.
And the Captain leaving :

Do you have any contacts out there that could at least tell us a little more about the particular part of the port that Horizon moored at?

Perhaps it's different your side of the pond Leyla. We booked direct with Pullmantur. They gave us a choice of keeping our booking with them or transferring to RCL. They offered us our deposit back in 90 days or a future cruise voucher with them which I think was for 125% of the refund due.
