  1. May I ask about your cabana experience?  Judging from the photos, it looks as if when you rent ½, you could potentially be sharing your space with others, even if they reverse the couches to make it sort of divided.  And having that walkway in the middle between your comfy furniture and the glass wall is just silly, even if there is no one walking there.  I mean, even with it roped off, the others who have rented the cabanas would be walking there, right?  It just seems that if it were not a port day, the pedestrian traffic would be very annoying, especially at that price.  Dunno.  Probably not gonna even think about renting one.

I looked back at the photos of the Accessible IV cabin, and our balcony is 1-½ times wider than the normal ones.  However, the one you toured did not have any extra furniture out there.  I just think it is too bad that there are such shortfalls on this beautiful new ship.  Although I understand how Suite pax would be very upset about it, I feel that the rest of us have a right to be upset about it, too.  There should not be that much difference in balcony furniture, other than what available space dictates necessary.  Furniture inside is, of course, another subject.  I do not envy you the Hoppen Rocker at all.  After all, we all get the Hoppen Tom-Tom!  That is a great consolation.  :classic_wink:

Hope you are having a wonderful day!  Enjoy your Eden dinner.  Can't wait for your report!

Again, thanks so very much for all you have done for all of us who cannot be there now, and will have to wait for a future cruise.  I am SO looking forward to 1-20!  Can't wait to meet you and all the other Edgies!

This was posted on Instagram this morning. Maybe they just ran out of trays by the time they got to VT?

Looks like a winner to me!  That is pretty much what I was trying to describe.  The handles would only be good to keep the tray from sliding off, which could only be one direction, of course.  But better than nothing.

But I cannot believe that they would give that tray to someone else and let VT try to make-do as they did.  Wrong person to mess with... they will answer to all of us Edgies for that!

  3. Regarding those dinky tray tables, can someone please measure the distance across between the handles, then when a room service person arrives, measure the width of the tray they bring the food on, not the long way, but the shorter way?  It would be nice if that would fit on the tiny table between the handles, and would then extend and square-off the top, so more would fit on it.  Just an idea.  Not being there in person, I cannot see if it would work, but perhaps...

  4. Marilyn, I was checking back yesterday when the discussion about the next-to-the-bed outlets was brought up again, and I believe I saw that in the IV Accessible you toured, there were outlets on both sides of the bed.  Do you remember if that was the case?  If so, I think maybe it is because it IS an accessible cabin, but why would they not think regular cabins would need that convenience, too?  Sure, it cost less to only run one set of wires to one outlet box and cover, but jeez... how much could it have cost during construction?  The equivalent of one less pillow?  Or was the extra outlet on the list with the footstools and loungers for the balconies?  Sometimes saving a little has big repercussions, and not in a good way.  I hope X is seeing all these comments and actually noting them for future reference.  Apex is still at the point where these things can be changed without too much trouble.

Get your reservations ahead of time. I heard one couple trying to get a reservation for any specialty in the Retreat so they are in a suite.  All sold out! They saved some for packages I assume.  Glad we got ours early ....

I was told by X on the phone that they do, indeed, have enough room saved in each specialty for those with the dining packages.  I am not sure how they can do that, but I guess they can (or at least think they can) and do.  I will be interested in reports from others who have the Packages.

VT complete the hat trick..... you need to do something that will cause security to bring to to the brig. Then we will be nearly complete

Don't EVEN hint at that, or she will do it!  You know our VT... she wants to see and do it all!  I am just glad she boarded safely and got her maple syrup back intact.

    Have a fabulous time!

    Bon Voyage!

My suitcase went to the naughty room because of maple syrup! They thought it was booze!

You've been carrying that stuff since your first voyage and they just noticed it NOW?  Wow!  Efficiency, huh?  *LOL*

Hope they give it back to you.

I had been wondering which direction the bathroom door would be facing, now I know. It appears the aft S1 will have a view of the sea from the bathroom with the door open! A nice compromise, I'm a happy camper. Just have to figure out a way to prop it open. 😁

    Use the Kelly Hoppen Tom-Tom!

  8. Thank you for the photos of the drink menus!  Even the Premium Package only goes to $13 per serving, and the Classic to $9.  I cannot foresee myself drinking at the Sunset bar or Eden very often, since it would involve a surcharge.  That is absolutely insane!  If they are going to charge more than the Premium Package allows, they should add another package above Premium to cover all those high-priced adult treats.  Call it "Over The Edge Package!"

With thanks to everyone who has been sending Bon Voyage wishes our way, I wanted to mention that we will be arriving in Fort Lauderdale at midnight.  I'm not sure what that means as far as a welcoming ceremony!  Here is our itinerary:

    IMG_2170.jpg.7e518ebd044396e925f1d515ba6831d0.jpg

It may mean that the water cannons, etc., will be applied on your cruise, beachbunny!

That would be really fun!  Or, it may mean that no one really knows.  I have checked the PE port schedule, and was a bit worried yesterday because they are not showing NS arriving and departing until 12/23.  However, that is because I started my Query on the 19th.  I just rechecked, and they are showing you all arriving on the 18th at 07:00 and docking at T26, with departure at 16:00 and not returning on the 19th.  Nieuw Amsterdam is assigned to T26 on the 19th.   That is not good because our 4-day is still scheduled to begin on the 19th, when NS will no longer be scheduled in port.  I know these things do happen, because I was watching the new Celebrity Edge's schedule, and it was a little wonky sometimes.  So, I will not panic at this time.

The good thing is that I am retired and can leave home to drive over to Ft. Lauderdale any time, so it's all good.  :classic_biggrin:  The bad thing is that all of you who are not staying aboard for a B2B have no clue when you are actually arriving at PE and when you can return home.  :classic_rolleyes:  I promise to keep watch and let you know when the schedule updates and corrects.  Meanwhile, as I said before, BON VOYAGE!  Don't Worry, Keep Sailing!

    ~Barbara~

  10. Thank you so much for starting this thread!  Thanks, too, to all of you who are planning to contribute.  I cannot wait to follow along on your voyage on this beautiful new ship.  I will be boarding her to sail with those of you who are continuing on the 4-day after her arrival here in Ft. Lauderdale.  I am planning to arrive the day before so I can be there for her arrival in Port Everglades, with all the escorts and water cannons bringing her in for the first time.  It is a ceremony that is really impressive and I cannot wait!

Bon Voyage to you all.  Safe travels and smooth seas on your journey.  See you on the 19th!

    ~Barbara~

  11. Couldn't edit my comment #715, so here is the addition:

And, looking at that photo, I think maybe you were lucky that you did hit the door handle and not the glass, because you might have hit and broken and gone through that huge pane.  That could have actually been much worse.  So, you are on the luckier end of the unlucky scale, IMHO.  Anyway, I am really glad it was not worse, and that you are doing well.  Had another thought this morning... you will surely have at least one black eye, if not two, if you don't already.  That is just what happens in these cases.  You will have to think up a really good story for your friends at work when you get back home.  Maybe you and LLP were in the gym and using those punching bags and she missed and hit you?  I know you can come up with a great one!

Thanks, Jeff. I am watching every step tomorrow. I am so ready to see 11268 to officially claim it for our club!

On the way out on Thursday I returned to the scene of the crime. Watch out for these gold plates on the floor.

I hit the handle on the window frame (next to the suitcase) with my face.

DC7FFFEA-D49D-4DA8-8F88-B601A201D435.thumb.jpeg.dec82d72f187d711c20a96cd15c486ba.jpegOh well, got to see Medical and meet some nice people. 😊

I can’t remember if we told you, but when I first entered Security, a glass bottle rolled out of my tote and smashed on the floor. It sounded like a shot rang out so Security shouted something and the place erupted until they realized it was Perrier. I thought THAT was going to be my interesting story to tell about embarkation....

I can definitely see ho you could grip on those floor plates, so klutzy is no longer accurate.  Unlucky, yes, klutzy, no.  It sounds exactly like something I would have done.

Now, the Perrier bottle... well, that is all you. Thankfully, I drink the much lower class type of water that comes in those disgusting plastic bottles, so I would not have to worry about that.  And, if I have occasion to transport my wine or other adult beverages, I have a rolling cooler that goes traveling with me for just that use.  Always took it along to use for my 4 bottles of Bacardi or Kahlua or Bailey's, or whatever we bought along the way.  Learned that lesson a long time ago when trying to carry one of those 4-bottle cardboard cases that almost cuts your fingers off, when the debarkation line stopped on the gangway and took a looooong time to get to the terminal.  Never again!

Have a WONDERFUL time!  Bon Voyage to you and all our Edgies!  I know this will be the best cruise ever for all of you!

When I booked on the first day of the release for the Edge I just picked a room blindly on deck 10. During the build process X reclassified them and I was notified. I had spoken to a guest who had Aqua on the 2 day sailing and they said they had the body sprays in the shower. So I will check it out tomorrow!  When they reclassified the rooms there was no upcharge so I wound up with an Aqua at C3 price!!

Thanks and congratulations!  Enjoy your Aqua experience!

Yours is an accessible IV - no change! There were about 20 cabins changed earlier this year to AQ from IV Veranda or Concierge (probably because of the demand for AQ and they can charge more).

Ok, good.  Thanks.  I don't like negative surprises, if you know what I mean.  Obviously, IT doesn't know what they are doing, either.

Do you mean Cruise Director change? 🙂

No, CitrusCruiser mentioned that her stateroom was reclassified as an Aqua.  I am asking because I was on the app today, and mine said under "Stateroom Details"

    Stateroom - 8239

    Veranda/Aqua Class/Concierge Class

Then listed me and Barbara #2

WTH is THAT supposed to mean?
