  1. This cruise will be different for us, the World Cup finals are at 11:00 am so we will try to get onboard and go to O’Sheehans to watch. Do you think they’ll be showing it?
  2. We fly to NY on Saturday and Escape in Sunday. Ok NCL cruisers, what would you do? What I mean is, if you were boarding the Escape this week what would be the first thing you would do and what is your “Not to be missed,” thing to do or experience all week on the Escape? Ready, set, go...
  3. We had an inside on the Getaway last year July 4th week. It is SMALL. I used one of those shoe racks that hang and it was a life saver. I didn’t do this but afterwards I thought that the packing cubes you can buy on amazon would really help in this situation.
  4. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve cruised the Escape and the first time we’re flying in so I’m having to pack lighter. Couple of questions, I’m hoping you can answer. Are there hairdryers in the room? What are the soap and shampoo like? Any other tips to help me lighten up on my typical two suitcase packing?
  5. So frustrating. Still can’t book for our July 7 on Escape.
  6. This is the third time we’ve booked GTY and so far they’ve all worked in our favor. We booked a balcony BF on the Escape for 7/7 and were assigned today a BA on deck 15. I would pick a cabin on 9 or 10 usually but for the price difference 15 is fine and will be super convenient for sea days and breakfast.
  7. You will be fine. We did the same thing last year on a last minute cruise. You don’t say where you’re located but we spent a lot of time on 8, in the quiet chairs on the water. Better than a balcony really.
  8. Seriously, you do get what you pay for. But, we sail balconies or suites 90% of the time. Last year we booked a last minute inside. I can honestly say nowhere on the ship were we treated any differently than when we booked a higher category. Now, we didn’t have access to Haven but we didn’t pay for Haven, if I get a ticket to a concert and pay balcony prices I’m not going to get a meet and greet with the artist. Just like everything in life, you get what you pay for.
  9. We had this exact experience in July of last year. I thought it was the timing of the sailing, July 4 week out of Miami. Don’t get me wrong, I love NCL and after having just cruised the Symphony on Royal there were some things I really missed, but the party atmosphere on that NCL cruise, encouraged constantly by the activity staff was more than I could take. I was ready to say never again, however DH has encouraged me to give it another go. We are now contemplating Bermuda out of NY, which has me a little concerned. Anyway OP is spot on to what we experienced, we were hoping it was a one time experience but we will see. We’re. It ready to give up in NCL yet.
  10. A little off topic but does anyone know if they serve any of the sparkling selzer alcohols like Whiteclaw or Truly?
  11. Much the same. However, much more beautiful for Sail away.
  12. Agree with BecciBoo. I've done keto on and off for years and alway have half and half in my coffee. No problems and it tastes great. I also order Sweetdrops (flavored stevia) from amazon to travel with. It comes in little travel size containers.
  13. Thanks for the live review and great pics! We will be following along for sure. We are sailing her in June Eastern itinerary. Chops for lunch first day, did you just walk in? How much was lunch? We are not fans of first day buffets.
  14. We had the same experience on the Getaway but to be fair it was July 4 week. It was awful. The fact that there is only one pool was horrific that week. I've never seen a pool like that one. We really like NCL but that cruise made me choose RCI for our cruise in June. Can't wait to try the Symphony. That being said the biggest difference I would say between the two lines is NCL's ships seem to emphasize the sea while RCI emphasizes the inside boardwalk area. We love the outside boardwalk area on the newer NCL ships. The large sea side promenade is really special. I'd definitely sail again, off season.
  15. Good to know. Miami is our favorite port to sail out of. The new staterooms intrigue me. I'm also interested in their new port setup. We cruised NCL and Celebrity last year from Miami and saw it being constructed.
