  1. We just got back from Italy last week. It is posted that you must wear a KN95/FFP2 mask, however, very few people wore them. Some wore no masks at all, others had just a regular mask. Personally, I would take a couple of KN95 masks, but also take masks that are more comfortable to wear. Other than the flight over, we did not use our KN95 masks...and on the flight back, we wore just our regular masks as did most people.

  2. We just got back from our cruise last week and stayed at the Airport Hilton when we flew in. It's a very nice hotel and breakfast is delicious.

We used Shared Shuttle to get from the hotel to port and they were wonderful. It was very reasonable and we wound up using them a couple more times throughout our trip. (Eating train and bus tickets we'd already purchased because they made getting around so much easier.)

  3. We just got back from our cruise and had originally purchased bus and train tickets to get us from Rome to the port.

Unfortunately, we missed our connection in Lisbon and spent over 14 hours there which forced us to book the Airport Hilton, cancel our previous reservations and come up with alternative transportation.

Since it was last minute, I thought for sure it was going to be a nightmare. I found Shared Shuttle online and reached out, thinking there was no way they'd be able to accommodate me on such short notice, but they did!

It was very reasonable, and super easy. In fact, we were so happy with it, we ate the cost of previously purchased bus and train tickets and booked them to get us from the port to Rome on debarkation day. It was totally worth it and we will be using them every time we go back to Italy!

  4. We just got back from our cruise and used Italy tours when we docked in Naples, and they were wonderful!

We did the Amalfi Coast/Pompeii tour and it was one of the best tours we did.

They met us right outside the gate for our ship, and took great care of us. Our tour guide, Gabriella, was so sweet and taught us a lot about the places we toured.

She also made sure that we got back in plenty of time to board the ship. In fact, during the tour, she said it was of utmost importance — which we appreciated.

At the end of our tour she walked with us to the terminal to make sure we knew where to go.

I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future.

Glad you got a good sleep and are now on your way!!  I didn't get to tell the front desk at the hilton that you had a flight disruption and ask if they had a 'distressed traveler' rate.  I had a few of these and I received a little discount and i also gave a little discount to a few who were stuck and trying to stay a night at the hotel i worked at.

I didn't even realize this was a thing. Good to know for the future.

I turned in my receipts and will hopefully get some money back from my travel insurance.

I want to thank you as well as @euro cruiser @marazul and @CruiserBruce! You all saved the day for us!

The Hilton was great. In fact, when we got there, they upgraded us to a suite and we had a delicious breakfast in the morning.

And the tip to get a private transfer was huge! It worked out so well that we decided to use private transfers for the rest of the trip. We were trying to save a little money, but realized it was totally worth having someone get us and our luggage where we needed to go.

    Thank you, thank you everyone!

There were definitely life savers!! We had a great night sleep at the airport Hilton and a very nice, private ride to the port.

    Thank you all again!

  7. We’re flying to Rome, but we’re stuck in Lisbon. We missed our connection by a long shot and now can’t get into Rome until after midnight.

I’m going to cancel our hotel in Rome since we’ll be up early to get to port my 12 and will only be there for a short period of time.

    Questions…

    Where should we stay?

It looks like most of the shuttles won’t be rubbing that late, so will there still be plenty of taxis at that time?

How should we get from the airport area to port?

Thank you, in advance for your help. We’re exhausted and frustrated and really can’t think straight at the moment.

I did Wonder and I went to the 4th deck to a room called the Attic.  Did this also on Symphony and will do on Allure this coming weekend.  It is easier and a bit faster than the app as they have folks seated at tables to help and can do reservations for all the nights in 3 minutes or less.  Then the review with you

But, there are standby lines too (which they were not doing back in the fall)

Outstanding!! Thank you for this great tip.

Didn't work for those interporting (at least for anyone in our group).  We could see deck plans but that was pretty much all.  We were able to manage though and still had a great time.  Wasn't too difficult to get shows at times we wanted even without the app working.  Ones we saw weren't full except the tribute bands which you cannot reserve anyway.  So for those, get there a little early if you want a seat.

Where did you go for show reservations? Or did you just show up early?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

We recently disembarked the Odyssey OTS and flew home from FCO.

We were concerned and asked the same questions. Here's what we were told by the GSM, Guest Services Manager:

    * There are hotels in Civitavecchia and Rome, that Royal Caribbean designated for quarantine.

    * $250 for hotels/day, $100 for meals/day, and up to $400 for change fees (for flights).

    * It is highly recommended to test while still onboard. (We tested twice just to make sure...one using the free test, and again using eMed.)

    * If you test positive after disembarking the ship...you are on your own to find available hotels. (Keep all your receipts)

    * I'll defer to someone else regarding the number of days required to quarantine...seems to be changing daily.

We leave for Rome next week and wondering the same thing. Thank you for all this information.

So quick question...do you know if testing before getting back into the US is 1 day before or 24 hours? Our flight leaves at noon the day after we disembark, but don't think we'd be on the ship to test if it's 24 hours.

Again, thank you for the help.,
