This is so sweet - love that you are celebrating your Mom!!!  Enjoy every second.

And if you see Dinesh at Playmakers please tell him that Desiree says hi - he makes the best Chocolate Martini in case you or your Mom are inclined.

Thanks - I board Dec 16th, and will definitely go find Dinesh, and tell him hello from you. And order a chocolate martini. 🙂

    Sorry no US and bidding.

MSC made a lot of crap, and as an result we ended in 2 YCP instead of one SD3....

So room number on ticket say YC, experience say Aurea and Fantastica at the  other...

Yes, when I was "unknowingly" upgraded before boarding... my cruise documents all said Bella Interior. The cruise card I was given at check-in had this same Bella experience and cabin number.

However, after customer service or the concierge printed out my new room key - it listed my YC cabin number and the experience as Bella; as that was the experience I had paid for.

Within the YC, I had all those benefits - however because I had Bella and did not purchase a drink package, any drinks outside the YC I had to purchase.

    Hello,

Having difficulty understanding what exactly is included in Ocean Cay (island) with Yacht Club.

I'm aware of the exclusive little island where Ocean House Beach (restaurant and beach) are located.

What else is available? Do you have free access to cabanas? Are they only in Ocean House or can be used anywhere?

Also, I'm aware the drinking package is available at the island. However, what about the ice cream at Smiling Fish?

In fact I'm not even sure if ice cream at the Atmosphere Ice Cream Bar is also included with Yacht Club.

If someone is able to provide some help. Thank you!

    Hey Igorjrr,

I was in the YC for Ocean Cay earlier this mo, so I'll try and answer as best as I can.

Cabanas - even for YC, they are not free. I'm not sure what they all include and the cost, but I think they have a dedicated server to deliver your drinks, etc. And I believe just the YC beach ones.

I never left the YC beach area, so I can't comment to the Smiling Fish.

Umbrellas at the YC beach were complimentary. Food and drink at the YC restaurant were included.

And I didn't try the soft serve the last cruise, but in the past as a YC guest it was free at Atmosphere Ice Cream bar.

It’s highly doubtful that you could upgrade once onboard.  I would be very curious to know if anyone has ever managed it.  IIRC, it wasn’t permitted in the past but things may have changed.

In 2018, as a Diamond (then Black card) I paid for a Bella Interior 7-night Med Cruise - but informed MSC that I would only be on for 5 nights. Got my Priority Embarkation and cruise card in the port, and much to my surprise... my cruise card and cabin had someone else's belonging inside!!

I went to customer service, and they said - oh no, that's because you are in a different room. The new cruise card was for a YC Interior.

I had several poor phone customer service experiences prior to sailing. So I never knew if the upgrade was due to that experience or my Diamond status (or both). And after that incredible YC experience, I will only purchase YC now. Good person to upgrade on their part. 🙂

I have a YIN on my next sailing, and there are a ton of YC Deluxe Suites available. I'll keep you posted if I am able to upgrade on this sailing.

    Thank you both.

    We are vaccinated.

Even the saunas were open? Everything in the thermal suite? I'm surprised, actually!

You're so welcome. Yes, the saunas were open. The steam rooms and all those different showers were open. I was actually the only there... ha! But one of the steam rooms was having mechanical issues, so I was all by myself until some maintenance workers came to fix it.

  6. I was on the first back Aug 2nd sailing for Meraviglia. I believe the "Muster Drill" was at around 5:30pm. You watch a brief video in your cabin.

Then you enter a 3-digit code on your cabin phone.

Then you must take the stairs (no elevators) to your muster station just so they can swipe your cruise card to verify you completed the drill. But you can take the elevators on your return.

On my sailing, there was a lot of late arrivals and sail-away was even pushed back to around 9:15; so therefore they had a 2nd Muster Drill the next day for those that missed.

    But best Muster Drill ever.

I would appreciate it if someone who has been on MSC before could help me.  My son is scheduled for this cruise and has no boarding documents as they are still showing on line he has not fully checked in.  He has completed everything and spoke on the phone with them last week and they said he was checked in and the portal would update.  As of today, not updated.  He has called numerous times trying to get someone to help him and they keep putting him on hold and then disconnecting after 1 hour of hold time.  We are/were avid cruisers and have never had this type of thing happen on any other cruise.  I do not know what to advise him to do if he cannot connect with someone.  His boarding time is 8 am so he is one of the first and as of right now he has no documents.. or luggage tags etc. Just looking for someone who could point me in the right direction of what he should do on this particular cruise line.  Thank you so much!!!

Did he pay for the cruise in full? if so,  MSC may have emailed him info. He may want to start w printing that out. And also completing his profile online.

Down load the MSC for Me app, got to the profile section then the checkin section and you should be able to get your tickets emailed to you. Good luck

Thanks - I do have the app. When I go to the Profile section, there is no check-in section. I was able somehow to get everything emailed to me. I think I'm all set.

But now wondering if I need to upload my health info (vaccination card). I probably will just have to call in again.

  9. Maybe I was lucky, the two times so far in Meraviglia YIN I have had a chair in the room. And I precisely did just that @Beamafar

, was to drape my clothing and jackets on it.

Judging from your photo (and from @mickey89 video), I recall the Meraviglia YIN shower was a tad larger than the Seaside (or was that Seaview).

Our first sailing on Meraviglia was in a Super family connected balcony on the Aft. I too was somewhat concerned about moving to an Interior, but absolutely NO question at all - we absolutely both loved being spoiled in the YC.

And just like you said, we really did not spend much time in our room anyways.

But for the OP, I believe too that you would be happier booking the YC balcony. It has a larger bathroom than YIN.

  10. I just left Meraviglia YC on Saturday, 11/03. And I can say first hand, it's all a very quiet area. Not too many people ever in the lounge, and the Top Deck was also pretty quiet.

The pool is somewhat small-ish and is not on the side of 18003, so I doubt you would hear any pool noise.

The only "noise" you might hear from 180003 would be any noise during sail away, to which... there was only a few of us out during sailaway, and still that was pretty quiet.

Honestly you can't go wrong w either.

  11. I purchased a 7-night cruise, however i am joining later for the final 5 nights.

I called MSC customer service to see if "it was possible" for me to stay an extra night. Before I knew it, the agent put me on hold to speak to a supervisor. While on hold, he booked another cabin - and then cancelled it. Which apparently must have put another fee or cancellation on my original reservation.

And now... i can't check-in using E-Tickets  because the system says that I still owe money.

I've spoken w over 5 different customer service agents, to which no one has helped. All supposedly "talking to their supervisor". The last agent told me that it might take 14 days to be updated.

So no - you can't just stay on 5 extra days. The cabin is probably sold anyways. And you don't want to experience the mess that I'm in.

  12. Haha! I was so excited for Day 20, so that I could log in and get my E-Ticket. Well, today is Day 20... and now the website is asking me to complete payment. (I already paid in-full.)

I guess I'll be calling MSC customer service..... ;)

I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Just shoot, i was so looking fwd to "Day 20". ha!

  13. Yup, I'll be on Meraviglia for Halloween this year. I think we're porting in Palma de Mallorca for the day. I have some decor for my door, and am thinking about a costume.... we'll see. But it will be interesting if the crew does anything.

  14. We loved Meraviglia! I've had some positive reviews, but I guess you may have not read mine?

We sailed April 2018 in an aft balcony. And I just booked an interior room the end of October. So yeah, I'm a fan!

In April we had late dining, so I can't really comment too much about the entertainment. Our friends went to both Cirque shows and really enjoyed those.

We ate at Eataly the food market, the Ristorante Italiano, and Chef's Table - loved!! - and Butcher's Cut. We actually spent more time eating not in the MDR, but the MDR was nice too. Same - we did not book the drink package, as we got the 12 vouchers ea w the Fantastic experience. Our friends booked the Drink package.

Our room was spacious... service was great. Really enjoyed the food. Loved the 70's night! That was so much fun.

And my husband has requested that I bring him some of the chocolate macaroons back from the chocolate shop. So good!

I'm really looking fwd to sailing on Meraviglia again. This time I'll probably explore more of the boat.

  15. I would recommend a food tour by Streaty. http://www.streaty.com/streaty-palermo-winter-tour/ We did a food tour with them in Catania this summer and it was brilliant! So I would expect their Palermo one to be good too. Only 39 euros each including food and drink. Check them out on Tripadvisor.

Same! We booked this same Streaty Foods Tour back when we visited Palermo in April 2018. We also were on MSC. But we absolutely loved this tour - it was our favorite port day! We love all the street foods they introduced us to, and learned so much about Palermo & Sicily.

And it was an easy walk from the Ship into the main part of town where the tour started. We met some other people from our ship during the tour too. ;)

  16. Thanks for all the updates here and I followed your threads on Periscope too. Awesome, thanks for sharing. Are you also sharing on Instagram? If so, what’s your handle there? (Please.)

Thanks again for all the amazing photos. [emoji1360]

The Venchi shop looks awesome... and that chocolate martini. [emoji1376][emoji1376]

Will be back on Meraviglia later this month, but sometime I’d like to try out Seaview & Seaside. So grazie!!

    Keep enjoying your vacation!! [emoji172][emoji924]
