  1. Travelling with my month in late March with a stop in Nassau. Her mobility is iffy and we rent her a wheelchair so she doesn't fall, stumble or exhaust herself. Does anyone know of any wheelchair accessible tours? She CAN walk and get in and out of a vehicle. Possibly a driving tour with shopping stops might be nice. Thanks in advance!

  2. I've never been so sunburned in my life as I was at Cozumel. The sun beating down on me PLUS reflecting back up from the gorgeous blue water. It was in March. Just a PSA to bring sunscreen and use it.

Looks like only inside cabins available. All other categories not available...

Sounds great, but Mrs. Schmoopie needs her balcony.

I would have preferred one too, but I was late making the reservation. Was going to get married on March 30 but now I'm not so I can go on this cruise instead. I am on the waiting list if one becomes available though.

We ported in Costa Maya earlier this month.  There was a tram that seemed to be running, occasionally.  I watched from our balcony when we first got there, and there was no rhyme or reason to how often the tram might appear.  Additionally, there were two ships at port, and there was no possible way that you could guarantee you would get a seat on the tram.

By the time we left the ship, the tram was no where in site.  But when we were returning on our walk to the ship, we did see the tram moving slowly through the passenger traffic.

I checked with our tour company and they can bring a collapsible wheelchair with us. So I rented one for Mom after convincing her it was just so we can make it down the long pier in a timely manner. Thank you for the update. It is very much appreciated.

looking at horizon for 8 day to a c and 2 dr ports. Covebalconys are available.  Any serious draw backs to a cove. We try to get an aft facing balcony. Will i be disappointed  ??  TIA

I adore cove balonies and book one whenever I can. I have forgone 2 upsell offers to move to higher balcony decks. I love the wind and occasional spray from being so close to the water. Plus it's shaded and cooler.

Asking the room steward to decorate a cabin for you is out of line in my opinion. Even with a tip.

How about you just decorate it yourself?

It's a surprise proposal. So it would give it away if I did it. Like I said, I was thinking of having it done while we are at dinner.

  7. One of our party will be getting engaged on our next cruise. Everyone dressed up for elegant night, taking pictures, he pops the questions, cameras are there to catch it. Dinner and champagne to follow.

I was thinking, while we are all at dinner afterwards, maybe I could ask the room steward to decorate their cabin.(I'm the mother of the soon-to-be-groom).  I could bring decorations and give them to him/her (with a nice tip of course). Have you ever done this/seen it done/know of any good decorations. There's no engagement decorations on Carnival's website so I would have to bring my own.

Do you think it could be done or am I asking too much? I already have a new door magnet to put on the door once she says "yes". And I am very confident she will say "yes".

  8. Has anyone tried any of the new mocktails at the Alchemy Bar? Since Carnival rolled out their high end non-alcoholic spirits, I was wondering if they were any good. And could you use them to substitute for regular alcohol? I used to love a cosmo but now I don't drink alcohol. Thanks!

  9. Are there rickshaw/trikes to help older folks navigate the pier in Costa Maya (like there is in Cozumel). Travelling with my 80 year mother and it's going to be a long walk for her.

I had a good experience with Tucan Tours a few years back.  I remember it was quite a hike to their stand in the heat, but it was do-able and the Chacchoben tour was good.

In September, I booked Native Choice. We're doing the Chacchoben/Lagoon tour this time. I went with my son last time, but this time I'm going with my boyfriend and he hasn't done Chacchoben. So, we're doing the combo so I'll also get to see something new at the lagoon.

I wish Native Choice offered the Chacchoben/Bacalar with a boat ride. I would sign up for that in a minute. I went with Eco Experiences because of it.

  11. We have a party of 8 returning to various states (VA, IN, TN, FL) after our cruise in December. Not sure what airlines the other are using but I do know we all need to get to the airport post-cruise. Carnival would cost $23 pp for their shuttle but there has to be a better way to get all of us to the airport. My flight doesn't leave until 3 so we're in no rush to get off the ship. Best to do the shuttle? Uber? Taxi? Private car hire?  TIA.

The access fee is included (and increases total when you select number of people) when you book. Have you pre-paid total?

We did prepay but the prepaid invoice is unclear. I think prices went up too. I booked Cabana 2 for 2 people and paid $121. I think you're right.  Thank you so much!

I just bought the Faster to the Fun pass (FTTF) for our September cruise.  Is it worth it?  Also when might it be available for our January cruise?

I got FTTF for all the rooms in my group (4). We have a tender port (Belize) so that plus the priority boarding made it worthwhile for us. I would have purchased it anyway though because my mother has HUUUUUGE anxiety over boarding times. Such in - if we're not 4 hours early to the port, we are late. Knowing she has FTTF helps stay calm and she knows we aren't going to miss the ship.

I am really leaning toward Cabana Beach, since I would like to be able to walk around Chankanaab and look around.

When are you planning on going? We have 2 cabanas reserved in December 2023.

I saw when I reserved that rental includes fruit platter/guacamole.

We want to do several things at Chankanaab Park... manatee swim, dolphin swim. Hopefully we can book the day of.
