1.
I'm so sick and tired of people forgetting their card key when they are at the pool,

Wow, seems a lot of insulting comments for someone involved in the hospitality business. We are not stupid, as you put it, because we do not know how hotels plan to roll out their wrist band system. We are not stupid because we don't like it.
Yeah, sounds like a real hospitality professional huh? Glad I don't go to her hotel.:D
  2. Add me to the no thank you crew!

I don't need the cruise line tracking my every move. And yes, every time you are near a reader (and you don't even know it) in Disney it can tell them where you are and how long you are in that area. Helps them figure out how to market to you, as well a other things, based on your movements, purchases, etc.

Didn't like the idea when it came out there and still don't. Hello Big Brother.

  3. Hey Steve, just bustin' on ya' a little. These newer post might be helpful to some though, no harm.;)

We just booked the Homewood Suites in Dania thru parksleepfly for $189 + tax and have free parking of our vehicle for the duration of the cruise. With port parking at $15 a day I'm happy with this hotel rate.:)

Edit: Oh yeah, Nov 28th cruise.

  4. Why not try another cruise line, and see for yourself, why so many people who have sailed have already discovered. You pay for what you get, and Carnival is a budget cruise line.

We've done both Disney and HAL at higher cost than Carnival. Tried both multiple times, didn't discover either of them to be exceptionally better. Did find more snobbish people on them though. Not everyone of course, but enough. Quite happy with Carnival thank you.;)

I too have found that many of the people that put Carnival down have never sailed on a Carnival cruise.

  5. If you are a well experienced cruiser you would be familiar with the forums. Why would i provide that?

With 14 cruises completed I hope that would qualify me as an "experienced" cruiser and I am not familiar with these other forums. Going on many cruises doesn't mean you read, or are even aware, of every forum on the web. I too would be interested in knowing which forums these are.

As to why would you provide that? Well, you are the one making the claim and citing said forums so why wouldn't you be willing to provide the information to back up your statements?

  6. That's a decision only you can make based on your wants/needs, not others on these boards. That being said, I would not give up a 7 day balcony for 5 day OV, especially when the cost per day is lower for the former, even if it is only $9 a day. But again, that's just me, you have to do what's right for you.:)

  7. Don't think I would call it a "lecture", it's just one persons opinion. I have to agree with him/her somewhat though as we too have found the food to be a bit inconsistent at times. However, we felt the same about some foods on Disney and HAL. Both much more pricey in cruise cost. I can't speak to Royal as we haven't sailed on that line. With that in mind we'll stick with Carnival. :)

  8. We have traveled quite a bit around England and Wales several times. Visiting areas with lots if tourists as well as locations with few, if any. We've been told by many Brits that we have seen more of those countries than folks that live there.:)

I have never brought anything to wear that I wouldn't normally wear here at home, never had a problem. I found most people to be very friendly and even go a bit overboard to make you feel welcome. No one seemed to care the least what I was wearing.

We worked for over twenty years at a very large, well known, vacation resort complex in FL with many visitors from the UK. Guess what, they wore plenty of sports related clothes, both from their favorite EU teams as well as US sports teams. For some reason the Chicago Bulls seemed very popular with them. ;)

Just based on my experiences, I for one would not worry.

  9. Again, the photos were great, I don't want to mock the quality... But 1300 bucks? REALLY CARNIVAL?

I agree, the price is ridiculous, but Pixel is an separate company, not operated by Carnival. Sure, Carnival gets paid to have them on the ships but the prices are essentially Pixels.

We rarely buy their photos. Heck, most of the time we don't even let them take the shot.

  10. I stopped using PVP's a long time ago due to way too many calls after telling them I will only call when I'm ready to book a cruise. Once I figured out how to do everything on my own along with reading cruise critic. It was a simple call not to use a PVP anymore.

Perhaps not so simple considering the problem you are now dealing with. A good pvp should be able to take care of this easily. Just sayin'.

I can say, my pvp never bothers me with calls, but as has been said by others, you need to find the right one, which is not always so easy I gather. We got lucky I guess. Our first and only one has been great. She came recommended by a friend so again, too bad we can't provide names here.

  11. How about using a PVP. You deal with the same person all of the time and since they get a commission from your booking, they have a vested interest in taking care of you. Sounds like the method you are using now is bascially throwing darts. Granted, not all PVP's are created equal, but ours has been great for the past 10 years.

If I have a question, issue, or a price drop, I call or email my PVP and BOOM, it's done.

My experience as well. To bad we can't provide names on the board.

  12. While it was ashore on Saipan during a working cruise, I did once meet (and chat with) a most unusually "famous" person. His name was Paul Tibbits. Google him if his name draws a blank for you.

Used to see him fairly regularly at the old Warbird Museum in Kissimmee FL where I worked as a volunteer. He even had his own parking space for a while. Great guy.

  13. We have wanted to try this but every time we have been to St T (at least four times) the attraction was either closed or not functioning. Maybe in December when we get there...

One time when we were there a taxi driver offered to take us to the top to visit the shops. Another driver overheard the conversation and asked the first guy why he would do that to us when he knew the shops at the top were closed and we would have a heck of a time getting a taxi back down. We thanked the second driver and stayed at the bottom.

  14. From one of his previous posts on another topic...

To many I am entitled people now on these bigger boats.

Pot calling the kettle black? I screwed up not booking ES but I'm entitled to have the rules bent for me?

Also, he is maybe going to "try" Princess

will try Princess out of L.A.
yet on another previous post he states he has quit Princess since they allow e-cigs in the cabins.
Since e-cigs are allowed in staterooms we have stopped cruising Princess.

    Um
