  1. I seem to recall someone at one time looking for a spot past the bridge in Tampa for a new cruise port but there weren't any viable locations. Building a new bridge was projected to be too expensive. As for lowering the water level as someone else posted, how do you lower the water in the entire Tampa Bay other than the natural tides?  You sure can't lower the water just under the bridge and dredging only lowers the seabed, not the water.

  2. I feel the op's pain. Depends on the time of day too. In the times of 'rush hour' the areas around Rt 27 and beyond heading east can be a total zoo, especially around Champions Gate and beyond until you hit the 417. We actually leave in the afternoon on the day before (and we live within a mile of 27 below Haines City) and stay somewhere either in the Orlando area near the airport, or Cocoa. Don't need the stress factor when heading on vaca.

I do the same thing, mostly because my kids (now 20 and 16) LOVE them (and still do even at their advanced, sophisticated ages😄).  But in addition to setting them aside on a little-used countertop, I attach a post-it note to the first one that reads:

Please don't kill me.  I like it here.

    -  The Towel Animal

The towel animal menagerie accumulates after that, and they are all there together at the end of the cruise with our extra cash tip being held by one of them. (And the post-it changed out to one reading "Thank You!")

    Now that's pretty cool!😊

  4. Wrong assumption never took my grandkids on Disney.

My point is, I don't care what other lines or boards are saying/doing and if Carnival is letting other lines try ideas, and possibly fail, that's a business decision that helps keep their costs down and they don't waste as much money. No harm in that. Why be so concerned? You don't mention how that hurts your cruise.

As for the jokes or comments on another board, it's like being on the playground and complaining 'mommy, they made fun of me.'

Ah well, it's your issue. I'm outta here on this one.

  5. You will also find that may of the people making the "party ships" claim have never sailed on a Carnival cruise and actually don't know didley. I'm 70 years old and love Carnival, do you really think I'm a big time partier?

Balcony cabin is a must for us as well.

Yup, we tried an OV but did not like it and an inside is definitely not happening. We do spend a lot of time on the balcony so...

Am I to assume that since you were able to keep your original OBC, that means that every time someone else upgrades, they automatically retain their OBC in every instance?

Where in my post does it say that? Never said that, nor did I infer that. I was responding to a previous post that states that if you upgrade your original obc would be gone. You assume wrongly.
