When I cruise out of Port Canaveral, I stay at POP Century precruise, take an Uber back to the airport and take the Carnival Cruise bus to Port.  I sail solo also and I think it was about $40 Uber to airport and then $31 one way on Carnival to port.  I could have taken Mears Connect from POP to MCO for $16 instead of Uber.  By taking Uber, I got picked up about 8 am and was able to be on the first bus to port.

She's cruising NCL not Carnival. Does the Carnival bus actually take folks cruising on other lines?

  2. Personally, and that's exactly what I mean, not for anyone else, to each their own, but I would do the hotel near MCO and Cortrans to the port. Not an Uber user very often but I would guess (I could be wrong) that an Uber from Disney to MCO would be cheaper than Disney to Port Canaveral and possibly easier to arrange and also Cortrans would be easy and cheaper. YMMV

I'm pretty sure the OP knows this.   As already said, it is just commonly done.  Not something to get too worked up about, IMO.

Don't count on it. I've seen plenty of interviews where young folk couldn't even locate the US on a world map. And, whose worked up? Just stating a fact.

Being in the deep south doesn’t help…had a great breakfast buffet earlier this year in Miami, which is nearly as far South as possible, but the gravy was like some type of paper mache or wallpaper glue!!
It’s the ability to cook “southern style” that eludes most of these “chefs”!

Geographic location may be way south but population wise, Miami is hardly 'southern'.

  5. We have used VRBO many times without problems. Remember, these are individual owners, not an entire company, and each experience may be different. Read the reviews before deciding. We find that if the majority are good, and well written, the rental is usually just fine. You may find one or two who were unhappy (you can't please everyone and some just scam looking for their money back) but if most are good, you should be good to go. Just our experience, YMMV.

    Hi,

Our cruise from NJ first stop will be Cape Canaveral. We wanted to go to Kennedy space but I think the time we are there would make it difficult . So I saw the Wizard of Oz museum the port . My question can we walk to the Museum ? Is there any other things we should consider that is within walking distance ? Not looking for restaurants or bars .

    thank you

    Kelly

No, not very walkable. If your ship docks north of the drawbridge, you cannot walk across the bridge. If you dock at terminal 1 it's about a 2.5 to 3-mile walk, much without sidewalks. It is not at the port.

No, Carnival doesn't offer an order form. It would be great if they did. You have to call ahead if you can even get a call through or order when you board.

On our last cruise when filling out the check-in it asked if I had a CPAP and did I need distilled water. I did not add anything else and there was an extension cord in my cabin upon arrival. Doesn't mean this will happen every time but I have always been asked in the terminal if a cord was needed.

I understand that. But what is supposed to happen and what happens can be very different things and I’m interested in the poster’s experience.

Well, I'm not the poster you refer to but just a few weeks ago we arrived for our cruise on the Liberty at 10:30. We were in a suite so we were allowed to walk right into the terminal via a separate line to check in. Once checked in we were directed to a separate lounge to wait for boarding. It was around 11:15- 11:30 when a staff member came to the lounge and we were directed to go ahead and board the ship.

None, you must go to a bar or the coffee bar and request you complimentary water. The water in the cabin will be charged to your account if you drink it.

Not always. we've had our cabin steward tell us just use the cabin water as our free ones and he would replace it. On our last cruise (Liberty) there were two bottles with a tag on them stating they were our complimentary bottles. Ya never know.

  10. I seem to recall someone at one time looking for a spot past the bridge in Tampa for a new cruise port but there weren't any viable locations. Building a new bridge was projected to be too expensive. As for lowering the water level as someone else posted, how do you lower the water in the entire Tampa Bay other than the natural tides?  You sure can't lower the water just under the bridge and dredging only lowers the seabed, not the water.
