Question....the airport has some amazing things to visit...but are they before or after security check in? We have a few days there and can arrange a day at the airport but our departure flight is 6am so no way to do anything that day! Can we do a day trip and see the airport attractions? Thanks

Cabin phones and phones all over the ship.
That only works if you know where the other person is.

SakeDad, she is ON the Barcelona-Dubai cruise. She said that Showgirls will be on Day 12 of their cruise.
Totally my mistake....apologies.

Hmm, my swimsuit does not have any pockets to put my card in... So I prefer the WOW Band - also for the Fitness Center. I can´t lose it, forget it and it doesn´t fall down.
Be aware that you can reuse the WOW Bands on other ships (Quantum Class, Harmony, Symphony). I reused mine from Quantum and Anthem both on Harmony and Symphony. On Symphony one got replaced for free as it had the muster station printed on it (I think that was the one from the Anthem).

Great to know!! Thanks

Maiden voyage:
Mo5aic played last night.
the feathery Showgirls show won’t start till day 12.
Not true. SHOWGIRL will be opening on the Barcelona-Dubai cruise. The Silk Road is due to open in Two 70 between Dubai and Singapore and Effectors is due to open before Shanghai. Of course all dates are subject to change.

What's the time limit on getting drinks? I like to drink a little of my drink and then have them give me another shot of whatever alcohol to mix in. If I can't taste the booze, it's TOO weak!😜
I have seen many ask for a double or a drink + shot at the same time with no problems

Is there anyway to stay in touch on the ship (Spectrum) if you don't have the wifi package? On Princess you could use their app on your phones to message each other even if you didn't have wifi package. Great way to say where you are without having to use post it's in the cabin or searching the ship for each other.
Thanks

The card is waterproof also. It doesn't hurt it to get wet.
I honestly don't see an advantage to the wrist band. The card is waterproof, you can keep it in your swimsuit if going into the pool. I bought this cell phone case and it's great to keep my Sea Pass and ID in. Plus my Samsung S7 is waterproof to certain depths so I don't have to worry about that either and it has a great camera so I leave the big camera for special times. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C6FRXHO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The Showgirls on Spectrum is supposed to me much bigger compared to Navigator. Instead of the 5 showgirl cast on Navigator there will be 18 showgirls on Spectrum.
Close. The Navigator has a total cast of 12 and the Spectrum has a cast of 29. But you are right that while the same show Spectrum will be "super sized". Can't wait to start seeing the pics during this weeks inaugural cruise!!

Spectrum of the Seas will have two productions shows in the Royal Theater and one Two70 Show. In the theater they have Showgirl, a Vegas-style show which is currently on Navigator, and The Effectors, which I think is a superhero themed musical with the different heroes themed to theater stage effects like Lights or Sound. In Two70 I know they are working on a new show called The Silk Road. Everything is in English and most of the headliners are English-speaking singers and magicians who might try to speak a few words of Mandarin, but it is all visual or music heavy.
I can verify this is 100% true...also the same cast is Showgirl does Effectors. Both are great shows and the cast is amazing! The Silk Road will also be a spectacular show!!

If you have the Deluxe Beverage Package does it include your in-room minibar?
-

Nope... It automatically puts a package of the same type under my and my wifes name once I choose a deluxe beverage package . Can't modify it.
You can modify it....there is a page BEFORE your choices where you click on which passengers you are buying for. It automatically clicks both of you, but you can unclick it before continuing to your cart so it's only for one passenger.

Does no one here use cell phone apps??? There is a GREAT free app called Passport Booth for Apple and Android. Extremely easy to use and formats it into passport size then you either share it or email to yourself. I have used this many many times without a single problem.
You're welcome.

We are looking at DIY in Muscat and just walking from the ship to the shopping area and some mosques. And we were planning on just doing the Hop On/Hop Off in Penang. But today we got an off for excursions from an online company that has a Magical Muscat/Taste of Penang dual tour. My concern is we like to meander, eat here and there, see sights and not feel rushed. For tasting different foods I don't want to be handed 3 little things, hurried to eat and move on to the next place. Also it's Ramadan in Muscat when we go so not sure how that would affect organized tours. If we are on our own we just change our plans.
If you have done these tours and also done these cities on your own I would love to hear what our best option is. We have traveled all over, are very adventurous eaters and shoppers but also want to see all the key spots in these ports.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the great photos! At least it looks like we won't go hungry, but it sure doesn't look like much else is going to be ready for April 18.
LOL....you have clearly never been on a new build or dry dock 2 days before paying passengers board! It is AMAZING the miracles that happen in such a short period of time. Think of ants at the farm and every single one has a special job to do and nothing will stop it....that's what that last 48 hours is like.

We're not getting it this time on Mariner. We purchased the refreshment pkg for $17 a day and I'll just pay cash for a shot to be added to my Pina coladas and my Mai Tai's when I want them. I'm going to track the expenses and see how it comes out for future reference.
This I'll be very curious to follow. But I feel if this was a great deal more people would already do it and RCL would have figured a go-around....but please post your results as I could be totally wrong!

On the Allure now. On embarkation day they were pushing the packages hard at buy one get one half off. $60 each meaning $90 for 2 or $45 final price each per day, plus gratuity. No idea if that is common or not.
So I pre-paid $47 a day for the package and if it goes to $45 online before the cruise I can cancel and rebook the lower rate. QUESTION - If it is lower than the $47 a day when I board can I cancel and buy the lower priced package onboard??? Has anyone tried this?

Good advice....but not just Royal.....I have had it happen on other lines too

DryDockDave,
I was just there on the NV. Glad nothing like this happened while we were there! Did the Aqua Cast go home (or were they even in Freeport)? And will they come back to sail overseas or do you think the AquaTheatre is a done deal until after major repairs?
Thanks for all your info.

Sorry, I deleted the email. Maybe someone else can answer your question.
We JUST got our cabin assignment today on Spectrum Dubai to Singapore. We booked a GTY XB knowing it could be anywhere on the ship and obstructed but got such and amazing price we were OK with that. We got Deck 11 midship and couldn't be happier! But we also got a Royal Up email offer to upgrade. We have decided to stay where we are as they can't tell us where the upgrade would be. But the offers were as follow:
Spacious Balcony from $60 pp
Junior Suite from $230 pp
Golden Balcony from $450 pp
Golden Jr Suite from $590 pp
Grand Suite from $650 pp
Also they could wait until 24 hours before the cruise to let you know if you won the upgrade or not.

if they give it us for free we will accept (actually we tried to change the upgrades by OBC instead of the balcony but hey refused, lol) but we normally save the money for travel.
You just have to realize they are not offering an upgrade to be nice....it means for one reason or another they either want the cabin you have or they can't sell the cabin they are offering. Either way it's a business deal for them....so never give up what you aren't willing to lose and never be afraid to ask for more if they initiate the dealing.

This is GREAT! 1,000 Meyer Werft workers get to travel on Spectrum as passengers from Bremerhaven to Malaga!
Three days in and still no Spectrum info
in Royal Caribbean International

I have seen a ton of pics from friends on their FB page but I don't want to post other's pics. However we will be boarding May 4 in Dubai sailing to Singapore and I promise loads of pics! She is an absolutely gorgeous ship and our friends are having a fabulous time so far.
