They are also going to be primarily featuring newer Oasis class ships with all they offer for the short 3 & 4 night Bahamas cruises out of PCN. Along with the strong market, newer + bigger = higher fares.
Yeah, I suppose more people want that than those of us who loved 3-days on Majesty or Mariner. It was fun while it lasted. Then again, I remember CocoCay when all it had was the one BBQ buffet, a bathroom, and the shack for snorkel rentals. 😅

.the prices just went up quite a bit.
That's an understatement. I know they have their bottom line reasons, but wow.

I'm sure times have changed, but about 7 years ago we took a transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale. We were taking a bottle of American rye to a friend in England. I had it in my carryon, wrapped in bubble wrap and labeled with a luggage tag, prepared to turn it in and get it back at the end of the cruise.
No one noticed.

It's not state but I have seen the Puerto Rico flag an ships sailing from San Juan.
I've sailed from Copenhagen and Amsterdam and never seen any national flags in the promenade. It just seems odd.

Not weird at all, it’s a TX thing, many don’t (won’t) understand.
I get that it's a Texas thing, I ask why it's a Royal thing. Is it a contractual obligation demanded by the port? 🙂

EVERY Royal ship cruising from Galveston has the TX flag on display in the promenade or centrum.
Wow. That's weird. 🙂

Do they do this for any other state? I've never seen it before.

Marc Walker, the BingBong cruise director, made a social media post about Mariner relocating and taking its first cruise from Galveston. Included was a photo of the Texas flag in the Promenade. Is this a thing for every cruise from Texas, or just for this one trip?

Hi new to RCL, where and when can I add our passport information to the booking? We are 75 days out from sailing, I don't see a place in the app.
When it opens, if you are using the app on your phone, you can scan the barcode and be done. Easy peasy.

Exactly. A photo on your phone is also a necessity for those parking garage signs that say “you are on level B7” and such.

Interesting story - now, don't hate me - but, is a paraplegic allowed on a tender? I've had to get realistic about my touring as time has gone by. Just saying.
We just did a cruise with a lot of tender ports and the center seats - the ones that are on the same level as the door - were filled with people who had limited mobility, and a stack of walkers and wheelchairs. At some stops, it was quite interesting to see the crew help them on and off, but they are very good at it.

The tender had taken their passports in and returned
Thank you, that was my question. The original article I read says they were left with no documents, no money, no medications, nothing from their cabins.

We are sailing next September and the price is $65. Nope.

STILL THERE.
This does not speak well of their IT department, at all.

It's STILL on their site! Starting at $577, quite the bargain.

I really want to go on this cruise.

I have to echo that, we took the Bermuda Ferry to St. George and when we were done took a local bus to Hamilton. It was great to see Bermuda and meet the polite Bermudans on the bus, constantly offering me their seat when the bus got full and I stood up for an elderly person.
Then it was the Hamilton Ferry back to the ship.
How much is the ferry, how much is the bus? They take credit cards I hope?

My daughter's first cruise was when she was 13, back in the days of dressing for dinner and assigned tables for all three meals. She doesn't like 'weird' stuff, so the first night she asked for a kid's menu. Bless his heart, the waiter brought her a kid's menu and some crayons. She ordered from the adult menu and tried something new every night. 🙂

How was the price? I have heard it has increased significantly.

Yes, the inflation is very very bad and the political unrest has increased. They had nationwide protests yesterday, which we saw
in Puerto Madryn. Evidently in Buenos Aires, many flights were canceled, because all of the government workers were on strike. There are no current protest planned for the day we leave, but I am still nervous.
We arrived right after the new president was inaugurated, and people were a bit nervous. From the time between Puerto Madryn and Ushuaia, the rate changed dramatically. 😞

@flamingos 822 Argentine Pesos per US dollar. That is the official exchange rate, the “blue” rate is 1,200 per US dollar. Hubby did not get a receipt from the ATM and he is not sure, but since it was from a bank ATM we are assuming the “Red” official rate.
Wow. The official rate mid-December was 347 peso to the dollar, and the blue rate was between 800 and 1000, depending on where you went.

What's the exchange rate today?

No. There has been no invitation from Royal for such a thing.
People who want to bring their pets don't need invitations, they simply falsify documents. 🙂 This will encourage them, I think.

If we do specialty dining, we do the cheaper lunch option on a sea day.

1993 - delayed because of Andrew. We walked down a service road to the far side of the island and sat on a deserted beach for 2 hours until we got hungry and walked back. Lovely.
