You have to manually put in your booking number.

Thank you. So for check-in, which I have already done, that works.  For any other option, like short excursions of checking my flights, it simply goes to a white screen and dies.  🙂

I hope they get it fixed soon.

I picked Manage My cruise and then submitted my booking number and it showed the booking I was looking for.  I also needed to finish checking in.

I just closed the window, typed in the website, clicked Manage My Cruise and still get 'no bookings found'.

I think they are allowed to choose if they get off or stay.  If you remember that awful incident a few years ago where the passenger swore when room service woke her up and the guy came back and attacked her, the first passenger who responded to her screams chose to leave the cruise with her because he didn't want her to be completely alone when she went to the hospital on land.

No, don't recall that one. What?

Hmmm...We've always had access to our same B2B cabin and our check in has usually been done the day before at the consecutive cruisers meeting.

    Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your reply.

The ones I have been on, we all were led off to the terminal. Got checked in, which included a skip the line pass if we decided to go back to town, and could get back on the ship. We switched rooms, but we sat talking to people who were staying in the same cabin who also hung out in the lounge with us.

@cccole I highly recommend The Ship Beneath the Sea.  I also really enjoyed The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition by Caroline Alexander.

Another excellent read is The Wager: a tale of shipwreck , mutiny and murder by David Grann set in the 1740s South America.

We bought The Wager, will be reading it on our voyage.  🙂

You will find you do not need to over-pack cold weather gear.

It actually was not that cold (see other post), nor will you be out in raw elements with no ability to retreat for that long either - just normal cold weather stuff.  The glass domed Lido pool area acts like a sun room,  and allows for a lot of scenic viewing too.

The forward deck four, when it is open,  is the coldest and windiest spot so you do need to pack one outfit for those experiences.

We live in Florida. It was 62 this morning and we're in long pants, long sleeved shirts and jackets.  🙂  But I do have two dresses, so people will see a lot of them.  🙂

Ugh, this is so sad. We took DS (15/yo at the time) on his first cruise last December and after the "ooohing and ahhing" I very soberly told him not to mess with trying to sit on a railing, push "upward" on a railing to hoist himself high, lean over too far, etc, all the dumb things teen boys might do. I explained what "going over" means in many gruesome scenarios and details. Didn't want to freak him out but I'd rather he had a terrifying visual to remind him to respect gravity and the sea. So sad for this family, a parent's worst nightmare.

We did the same with our teens.

Are you sure?  Just off Eurodam and I'm pretty sure bottles of water counted toward the 15.  Can't say for sure because we never approached the 15 limit.

We're doing Eurodam for the 22 day South American & Antarctica in December.  I'm really looking forward to it, as we did HAL for Alaska.  What I like about them is the naturalist on board, with daily lectures and outdoor nature watches.

I still am more comfortable with Royal, mostly because I have sailed more times with them on a variety of ships.

For us, it’s drinks at Kimo’s, followed by a visit to the artists under the banyan tree. We’ve been there countless times. I am so sad for her citizens, and future visitors, that it sounds like much of the fascinating historical buildings are gone. Thinking of all of you!

My neighbor used to be one of those artists. He just found out that his family is safe, but it's been a long day of worry.   😞

Apparently, it is a phenomenon that happens ever year, typically once or twice. They call it jokulhlaup, which is Icelandic, because this is also something that is observed in Icelandic glaciers. A very good description of how the seasonal glacier release and consequent flood waters is here for anyone interested:

Thank you, but this seems a bit more extreme than typical.  😞
