Chrism23,
For the zodiac landings you must have knee high insulated boots that you can either purchase or rent, so I am set there. My water shoes are open and airy-suitable for the tropics, not Antarctica. I think my feet would be very cold. Thank you for the advice.

Another benefit of the Sapphire reserve is that they will pay for either TSA or Global entry for the card holder and authorized users.

Primary is the first insurance company responsible. I have Blue Cross for my medical insurance and it covers foreign health care. But in Maryland, your travel insurance is primary and Blue Cross would pick up only that which is not covered by the travel insurer.

Primus, thank you so much, this is just the information I was looking for.

We are on the Silver Seas ( Cloud) starting on February 20 2022.

I have a question about kayaking in Antarctica. I understand that their is a wet suit with gloves to wear on the kayaks. What does one wear on your feet? Does it have attached booties?
-
We are on a back to back Antarctica cruise in February 2022. It arrives in Santiago and disembarks in Buenos Aires. It stops in the Falklands and South Georgia. So far, we are still going.

seaver, check your account with silverseas and see if they have removed it. They took it off my account. I may try and do it on our own, but since Silver Seas has booked our flights, I am not sure if that is possible.

I'll put my vote in for a bathtub. I only take baths at home.

I believe there are online travel agencies that allow you to see cabin availability.

Seabourn cancelled our Quest Antarctica cruise scheduled for February 2022. They cancelled it September 7 and promised a refund in 30 days. I spoke with their agent last week who said it was credited on October 7-give it a few days to hit my credit card. I called on October 15 and the agent would not speak to me as I had booked through a travel agency. I had my travel agent call and he was told the credit was made on October 13-give it a few days. I think they are prevaricating and it is not good practice. I already have a bad taste in my mouth with Seabourn for cancelling with no equal alternatives. Seabourn has $50,000 of our money. Since we had to rebook with another line and pay in full, we are extended by over $100,000.

We are booked with Silverseas for this spring. We have their insurance because this cruise has been cancelled by the cruiselines 4 times and when they do that they refund the insurance also.
-
WesW, I agree, our Wind cruise next February and March has been transferred to the Cloud. It is Antarctica, South Georgia and Falklands.
-
I assume it is covid related. Transversing from Brazil to Argentina and back may be troublesome. My travel agent is out of the office this week, so I will hear more next week.

Margbem, this is the notice I received last Friday. The body of the letter implies that yo can Choose from a number of Venture cruise, but reality is there are only six, all 11 or 13 days.
"We are contacting you to follow up on our previous advisement regarding your cancelled Seabourn Quest sailing. We have reviewed feedback from our guests and travel partners regarding their interest in having alternate voyages to choose from, and we are happy to reach out with some exciting options.
You may now choose from a number of Antarctica voyages on board Seabourn Venture at the rate paid for your Seabourn Quest reservation. To review these new options, please click here.
If you would like to select one of these sailings we ask that you do so no later than November 1, 2021; please use your original booking number when making your selection on the web form, even if you have already booked an alternate voyage per our prior correspondence. You will be placed in the suite category that most closely matches the rate paid for your Seabourn Quest reservation.
Please note, the 10% discount offered previously will remain available, but cannot be utilized on any reservation that is transferred from Seabourn Quest to one of the Seabourn Venture voyages noted on the webform.
Again, we extend our most sincere apologies for this cancellation and look forward to the next time we can welcome you aboard.
Kind regards,
Josh Leibowitz

Silver Seas just cancelled our Iguazu Falls post cruise extension. It was to be March 2021
-
I was incorrect. they are only offering 11-13 day cruises in exchange for the 24 day cruise I booked. It doubles the cost. Not a very good offer upon examination.
-
Ken, you are absolutely correct. It is not haw the letter was written, but when I called them I found out there were only 6 11 or 13 day cruises offered. We had a 24 day cruise booked. We would lose half our cruise-per diem then is doubled. Not as nice an offer as I thought.
-
On the other hand, they are now offering a cruise on the Quest for the same per diem rate-Quite a discount.

It does not have to be shorter. I had a 24 day cruise on Quest and Venture has some 20-25 day cruises. The cost differential is substantial, and I am happy they are making this offer. Unfortunately we booked and paid in full for a Silverseas cruise just hours before.
-
Last night, Seabourn offered to rebook our cancelled Antarctic trip on Quest to one on Venture at the same rate. Quite a good deal. Unfortunately, we had already rescheduled with Silverseas, so we cannot take advantage of it. I think they got a lot of push back and hence the offer. Very generous.
