Thank you so much for following along. I enjoy writing these reports and sharing my photos but it's always nice to know that others are actually (that favourite word again) reading it.

    Maris

I'm sure many of us are following along and enjoying as evidenced by the terrific number of "views" that your thread has  😊   I am simply one of those people who click "like" but don't comment very often, however please know that I for one am very much enjoying your review and photos!  Some of your sunset photos are absolutely stunning.....fabulous job!

Sounds great! My kids take a bit getting used to new places, so when they walked into the kids club on carnival with a bunch of other kids running and yelling around them, they just shut down. Actually, the older one shut down and the younger one follows. But when it’s just them getting all the attention? They’d love it.

My suggestion would be to have a friendly chat with one of the camp counsellors the first time you take your kids to the camp to explain what you described above and I'm sure they would do their best to try to accommodate a calm area for them if there are a lot of kids running and yelling.  My son has special needs (Down Syndrome) as does the daughter of a good friend who we cruise with and our kids can be a bit apprehensive in new situations.  We simply spent a few minutes talking with one of the counsellors our first time there and found them to be quite responsive to our kid's needs, and they ended up having a great time!

  3. My apologies in advance for what might be a rather silly question to many of you, however a search on the CC search bar did not provide an answer.

If I want to book a spa service/massage onboard and there is a sale or a discounted price on a port day (don't even know if they offer that but hoping they do lol), am I allowed to also receive my tier status discount on top of a "special" onboard spa offer?  Thank you to folks who can offer some insight.

  4. WOOHOO!!!!!! 😃 So thrilled for you that you made it.....what an (unexpected/unwanted) adventure!!!  I'm sure there are many of us on here on CC who are collectively exhaling now from holding our breath following along for the last several hours lol.  And you certainly handled it with grace!!

Enjoy your very well-earned martini (or two or three or four!). 🍸

Nothing here in Canada either except more snow.

Snowing here in the Niagara region as well, and nothing in my inbox either!

Have to say drakes2 that you have a great source (at least I think I recall that it was you?) who noted that there would be two PUP activities coming in Januay!!!

  6. We thoroughly enjoyed our aft balcony on the Summit.  The only thing I would recommend is take a quick look at the furniture before sitting down to ensure there is no soot on it!  My first time in an aft I had no idea to check and of course I was wearing the only pair of white capris that I had packed for the cruise lol.  Enjoy!!!

  7. OP, Thank you so much for your review!

Would you mind sharing what cabin you were in?  Just curious as you noted that it was not "refreshed."   I thought I had read somewhere that some cabins on Equinox were refurbished and some were not due to the shortened time for renovation because of the crane accident.  We are sailing the Equinox in June and am totally prepared for the "old room" but still a small part of me is hoping for the luck of an "updated" cabin as I felt they did a nice job  (sailed Silhouette after the revolution and loved the updated cabin).

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences.  Much appreciated 🙂

A quick caution/suggestion for anyone else who booked or made any updates to a Retreat, AQ class or Al package cruise in the last week or so:

Check your guest invoice and cruise planner order history carefully and make sure that it reflects all of your included perks.

Worst case, I’ll be bringing a print out of the email stating that all perks should be included onboard with us and hopefully it can all be resolved with a meeting with the Retreat concierge as soon as we board (and hopefully a quick one so that we can get right to the more important and fun job of showing Jeremy around his first E class ship)!

Ugh....hope you get this sorted out quickly and great reminder to take aboard printed confirmation (although I know many people do not like to print everything).  Showing printed proof of purchase at GR helped resolve the issue VERY quickly when I had upgraded to premium package before sailing.  Everything showed properly on-line before leaving home, but when we boarded my stateroom card indicated Classic so simply showed the paperwork at GR and he instantly printed me another card reflecting the upgrade.

Have another fabulous sailing Charla, and as always looking forward to following along 😊

If you book an S class ship but not Silhouette I am fairly sure they still have a basketball court. Uncertain on M and E class. Check the deck plans…I think all ships have a jogging track…Perhaps someone can confirm…I get my exercise on board walking between bars and restaurants.

You are correct Chemmo....we have been on the Silhouette since the refurb and yes the basketball court was no longer there.

And thank you for the morning laugh over coffee about your exercise regimen 🤣  (although I tend to follow the same exercise routine as you lol)
