We paid £200 to upgrade from inside to balcony 3 days in to an 11 day cruise back in April

We had a voucher when on Britannia in April. Used it on the last celebration night. Well we ordered two of the alcoholic ones and hubby drank both.

You know I’ll always have feedback. Always do a trip report/blog and keep spreadsheets of spends and things. Hubby thinks it’s crazy but it helps me to budget. He wants to buy a drinks package for £600 for the cabin for 1 week. This is because the drinks are more expensive than p&o and an extra 15% on top of the price too but I knew exactly how much we had drunk on the last cruise and used that to work out what we would have been charged instead on msc. We are now not buying the drinks package. I’ve not completely jumped ship though. We still have two on iona booked.

Well I’ve booked two now so we shall just end up finding out 😂 P.s. I don’t find p&o stuffy. And I’m 34 so of the younger generation compared to most on p&o

I’ve called them today. First person hung up. Second was lovely and sorted it for me so I could book the offer with the 50pp obc.

Disney cruise will have to wait. Have just booked two msc in the school holidays. Hope I don’t end up regretting it.

Looks like I might have gone round the bend as now looking at two msc cruises for august and October. It’s cos they are school holidays it’s good deals. One on preziosa and other on virtuosa I think as long as I go into it with the mindset that it’s not going to be like p&o then we might be ok. did also look at Disney which was the same for one week as these two msc we are looking at and hubby doesn’t think he will relax on a Disney one much. gonna have to stop going on these websites soon as we will have to have a gap year between all these holidays

My youngest likes to talk and has no filter so anyone they put us with would probably ask to move lol its fantastica so would opt for 6.30. Just with kids it’s easier to have freedom etc.

Going on preziosa. Can’t seem to work out what the speciality restaurants are and where to find sample menus. we have kids in the cabin, so are the Pullman or the sofa bed made up every night or just left out? Or can we put them away for more space if they don’t. are there any cabins or decks to avoid staying on? is there freedom dining or only the sittings 6.30 and 8.30? we are a family of 4 with kids and don’t really want to sit and annoy others. Will they give us a 4 table or will we be sat with others? we are going to Rotterdam, Hamburg, Cherbourg, La harves and zeebruge. Are any of these tenders? Can you still get free tap water? I don’t drink much. Do you all have to have the same drinks package? Or can I just buy for the kids etc? I don’t do alcohol. im sure there are many more

its preziosa we are looking at I get it’s going to be quite a bit different, so I am expecting that. it’s cheaper than p&o and we go based on price

Usually cruise with p&o. have seen that I can get 5% off with the loyalty tiers. can this be back dated? Wanting to secure the cruise today as it’s a good offer. But would like the discount

we are hoping it’s different tbh. We like p&o but want more for the kids. There looks likes there is more geared towards families which obviously p&o are trying to do with the new ships too but it’s still predominantly for the generations above me.

brilliant thanks. It’s the preziosa from Southampton that we are looking at and it’s because msc are working out cheaper in a school holiday I agree about the website. I’d just seen a few bad reviews that put me off slightly but they were comparing them more to royal Caribbean which it expensive for us. I think the drinks are a lot more expensive looking at it. And I can’t work out if you all have to have the drinks package or not in the cabin as I rarely drink alcohol but hubby seems to have seen a 2pint deal that he says would be best. it’s to ports hubby wants, not really for me those ones but it’s the school holidays that’s making me feel like it’s a good deal.

Looking at a different cruise line. Only ever been with p&o. can someone tell me the differences etc

if this was me I would be complaining, a lot. one or two being effected that’s pushing it but to have 3 of the restaurant’s and no afternoon tea either. That really only does leave the beach house and if that’s full the mdr and buffet. You can understand suppliers chains and under staffing etc but you cannot put up a product that is worth a lot less but still expect people to take it. unfortunately I think, especially on how we handle the petrol compared to France who block the roads, we seem to just roll over and take it. im on iona in November. While I won’t go to epicurean or glass house, sindhu might even be given a miss I would still expect most open if not it’s not going to be the cruise that was advertised

this is what I was told when I called p&o up. Was looking at arvia at Xmas and they have the same dodgy deck 8 cabins (no clue why they thought it was a good idea to repeat on the new ship) they said pay about £200 more for a different grade. Was better than the extra £1000 to have select price. we’ve not ended up booking but p&o would have gotten a shock putting me in a deck 8 as I am usually topless/nude in my cabin and i wouldn’t have stopped the way I am. People would have just gotten an eye full

We used a credit card and it did have a pending transaction on each day like a pre authorisation. It showed as pending then few days after we were back it just showed the full amount taken. they couldn’t have taken double as it always showed the correct amount of credit available on my card.

Maybe this is a trial to see if we can remove all testing
