  1. Thank you so much for your reply. I was speaking with them and yes they said they can pick us up. We'll go in the afternoon and do something different in the morning. Thank you for your feedback, it's much appreciated.
  2. Are there any tours that offer both land sailing and a tour to the salt mountains/slave huts?
  3. Hello, My husband is a certified scuba diver. When we get off the ship, does anyone remember tour operators there offering scuba diving excursions or is this something we should book ahead of time with an outfitter? Thanks for your help!
  4. Hello, we would like to snorkel or do a discovery dive with sea turtles but we only want to do it once in one of the ports to give us time to see and do other stuff in the other port. In Curacao, we read if we snorkel or do a dive at Playa Piskado, we'll see lots of them there. However in Bonaire, if you go with Woodwind, we should see lots of turtles. We do have a booking with them but we able to cancel if our plans change. So my question is: between the two places, Playa Piskado in Curacao or going with Woodwind in Bonaire, which of the two would give us a better chance of seeing and swimming with sea turtles? Do they both have equal amounts or does one island have more than the other? Thanks for your help!
  5. Thanks everyone for your feedback!! It's been greatly appreciated 🙂 I'll take a look at Travel Tues. 11/28 and if those deals interest us then we'll book and if not then I'll wait till after the new year during their Wave Season (which I didn't know about), so thank you Milhouse for letting me in on that. I know it'll be 3 months before the cruise, but if they haven't sold out or nearly sold out then I'm expecting the cabins should be on sale. We've just gone through a kitchen reno, so we do have a budget that we want to stick with. We're just hoping that we'll be able to do this if the price is right LOL!!
  6. It looks like cruise critic won't allow me to post where i got the deal from. I put it down but they deleted it as seen in my post.
  7. Thanks a lot everyone for your input!! It's been greatly appreciated. I was on the phone with ***** and they gave us a pretty good deal with $2878 US dollar for two people all taxes in - final price, plus $275 US dollar ship board credit for a balcony. Have a great week!
  8. Thanks everyone for your help! I also just made a separate post about when would be the best time to book.
  9. We'd like to book ourselves on Celebrity Equinox - 9 day Southern Caribbean Cruise to the ABC islands leaving March 23rd. I'm looking at the balcony cabins. I've been keeping an eye on the pricing and in just 4-5 days, I've seen it go as low just over a $1,000 (same price as an ocean view) to as high as $1700. This is crazy, it's all over the place. I'm wondering if the Black Friday deals coming up will be better deals or should I wait till Boxing Day? Does anyone have any experience with when the deals should be better? Thanks for your help!
  10. Oh that does sound like fun! Thanks for your input 🙂
  11. When you say lots of events by the pool, do you mean various competitions and games? Did they play music by the pool? It sounds like it won't be totally boring LOL!!! Also do they have Movie Under the Stars (movie played on their jumbotron on the pool deck)? On some nights, it's nice just to kick back and watch a movie.
  12. Hello, We're looking at booking the 9 day cruise to the ABC Dutch Islands. Celebrity Equinox is the only attractive itinerary out of all cruises that I've found where you're in port until midnight in Aruba, 10pm in Curacao on a Thursday (Punda Vibes and fireworks in the evening), and full day in Bonaire plus an extra port in Grand Cayman. There's going to be 4 sea days and 4 port days - Perfect!! We usually sail with Carnival and RCCL, we like the ships with lots of entertainment, but we wanted to try this ship because of the itinerary. What does Celebrity Equinox offer in terms of games, theme parties, entertainment, etc on sea days and also in the evenings? Thanks for help
  13. Ahhh yes, ok that does make sense too. Thanks for weighing in 🙂 If it doesn't work for our schedule, then it doesn't work, but I'll see if we can go in Feb. or March where we may have more options available.
  14. Thank you for your post. I'll check out the link you sent me. It's nice to know that there are other things to keep us busy in the evening and I would still like to see the bridge and Curacao lit up at night. Someone said "it's a magical time". Maybe we can look at March. We hope that will work with our work schedule here at home. I'm already aware that the first two ports of the ABC islands generally stay late and the third stop leaves earlier so they can get back to the US. But what I don't understand (and maybe you or someone else can shed some light on this topic), is why they choose to stay late in Bonaire and not Curacao? All they have to do is reverse the itinerary, instead of Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao - their stops can be Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire - with late stays in Aruba and Curacao. I would think that A & C would have more to offer than B would in the evenings. Wouldn't that make more sense?
  15. Yes, that's true. I remember once we had a cruise with one of our ports going to Grand Turk but because of a virus circulating the island, they decided to miss that port. I'll take a look, thanks a lot for your help 🙂
  16. Hi We are hoping to do the ABC Dutch Islands. I'm having a hard time finding a cruise that is docked late in Curacao on Thursday evenings. It seems like Carnival, RCCL and NCL dock late in Aruba and Bonaire but not Curacao. I don't know why they stay late in Bonaire - not sure what to do late in Bonaire. Does anyone know of any ships that are docked late on any Thursdays in Curacao? Thanks for any help you can offer 🙂 We were hoping to go either April or May 2024, but we're also flexible too.
  17. Thanks for the info!!! Have you been to Olympia? I'm wondering if that will be hot like Athens in the city? There's a few cruises we have our eye on. Some have Olympia and others have other ports of interest.
  18. Marazul - Oh I know, the first I look for are the ports if they have what interest us. The second is comparing one line to another how long they are in port. I want to make sure Santorini is on our itinerary and in port late so we can enjoy supper there somewhere along the whitewashed buildings.
  19. janetmojo - We are going this summer too. When are you going? How did you find out how many ships would be in port when you are there?
  20. Scottishclover - it sounds just like here. We live appx. 30-40 min from the Canadian Rockies and even here in Calgary we can get EXTREME differences in weather. You always know - dress in layers!! Most extreme I saw was the first week in March (several years ago) it was 21c and down to 0 (freezing) and snowing all in 3hrs and 45 min!! Last month I saw it go from 26c (hot) next day 15c (fall weather) and day after that it was snowing (welcome to winter!!), and it's been cold here ever since that snow hit the ground!! I never really thought about it but yes, they sound like us. Anyway with all that being said, after talking with our extended family members, we've decided to rent a car and tour around for appx. 10 days and then do a Mediterranean cruise to Greece. Our winters are too long, I want to go to warm beaches and a warm ocean to swim in 🙂 Thank you all who replied 🙂
  21. No worries, we're going for it!! There are 5 cruises that's doing the Greek islands around the dates we can go that we have our eyes on. Now to narrow it down! 🙂
