  1. Right now Pacific time is 1 hour less than mountain and 2 hours less than central. What time zone do they base the itinerary times on? It says we will be in Cabo form 11-7 but really what time is that?

12 noon till 8 pm Cabo time. Last tender will be scheduled for 7:30 Cabo time.

We have cruised on Carnival to the MR many times. They will move the ship's time forward before they get to PV and then move it back after leaving PV.

  2. Depends on the cabin category.

4K's are along the side and the lifeboats block some of (or most) view. Best cabins are between the life boats.

4J's are at the front of the ship. There is a public area in front of the cabins. Your view will be partially blocked by a short wall.

We have had both. Really love the 4J's.

  3. You all are correct- only I work in the legal department. I am the reasonble accommodation expert. Thus the dilemma- they will find a way and another way and another way to f$&@ me. Seen it done. A bit afraid to even post this.

So- do I give in, keep my job and skip my dream cruise or do I toss the dice and believe my employer will actually follow policy, procedures, rules and laws?

No matter what I do I am hosed.

Well, in that case, go on the cruise and enjoy.

  4. Not bothered in the least, and I'm on the cruise after there's. They know how to handle it. Nothing to be grossed out about.. Honestly.. I feel sorry for the crew that has to deal with the guests. Most of the crew come from very modest (in this way) background. I hope they tip well.

I wonder, does the crew have an option of not sailing on a nude cruise?

  5. No propeller shaft or azipod bearing that was causing vibrations would last a week, regardless of speed. An imbalance of the propeller (dented or bent) would cause this, and this would cause a bearing failure.

The Miracle may have had a thrust bearing problem that they were limiting the power on, but this would not cause a vibration.

Azipod ships have a very flat section above the pods, that propeller and rudder ships don't have. This flat section causes the "azipod shimmy" which is a vibration from side to side caused by water flow from the pods.

We were on the Miracle in Dec 2014 when it picked up fishing nets on the props. The ship stopped for a few hours then sailed at reduced speed. We skipped Cabo and spent two days in PV while they had divers working on the ship. I think for several cruises after that they were having vibrations and were sailing slow until it went into dry dock.

  6. I think this may be the beginning of a two class system on Carnival. They're just dipping their toes in to test the water.

Not a class system at all, anyone can book a Havana cabin if they want to pay for it. There is also a Family area that is limited to to the ones who booked those rooms.

Just like first class on an airline, front row seats at a sporting event, theater tickets etc. If you want to pay the price, you can do any of those things.

  7. On one of the stops you will tour the winery itself. Takes about an hour or so, lot's of walking and stopping and listening to the tour guide. Then you go to the tasting room for about 30 minutes. There is a small patio area with a very lovable cat and a gift shop.

The other stop, you can sit around a table with your family and sample pizza, bread and oils along with the wine tasting. Also inside the gift shop at this stop you can sample 100's of Jams and Jelly's. They do have some food and drink here for purchase.

We have done this same tour on Carnival and Princess several times. Always bought some of the Jam and Jelly.

The bus ride will take you through part of the town and then out into the country side on some paved and some dirt roads.

We have seen teens on the tour, but I don't recall seeing any toddlers.

    Hope this helps. Happy cruising.

  8. Vista lounge does not look any smaller then the Breeze Lounge. Two decks of seats on both. The vista does have some removable seats on the first level up front, but I don't think that cuts down on capacity for a stage show. The removable seats does allow them to use this space for other activities though.

  9. The ship just goes out and sails around the Sea of Cortez for the night. That's one thing we liked about Princess, the ship stayed in port and the tenders ran until about midnight and then started around 6 the next morning.
