Hello folks,
Forgive me if anyone asked about this question before
I know Princess had the option to reprice if I found out after I book that the same room category (to the code) is cheaper or offers a better deal. Is this ever possible with RCL?
Cheers,
Michael

Wouldn't surprise me. NCL did the same thing with Joy.
I would say quite likely actually - PCL is a relatively pricey brand now in China with low presence
They love Costa and RCL... While I don't have anything to complain about RCL (especially with their newest Spectrum), no thanks to Costa from me.

But it's interesting that Princess decided to move her here, instead of keeping her for that market.
Guess there are things that we aren't supposed to know. 😵🤐
I know right!
The move leaves the entire Asia with just Diamond now - probably the smallest deployment in ages (if my memory serves previously they normally have 2-3 ships - usually Diamond, Majestic and sometimes Sun as well)

Thanks
I'll check it out once on board.
Been thinking of booking a Mexico cruise as a replacement for my cancelled Sky trip.
Well you'd like it if you're after Asian cuisine.... lol
I was supposed to be on the ship next month.... We all know where it went
The biggest difference IMO between Majestic and other ships are the lack of nightclubs, the ability to smoke in the casino when operating in Asian waters and the Chinese words right next to English ones on all signages you can find - also being the only Royal class ship without full MedallionClass experience

I was on a Majestic ship tour once and the PCL representative mentioned the ship did not have a dedicated night club since it was designed for Chinese market (a market which doesn't usually have too much to do with nightclubs)
Apparently they used Vista Lounge and Princess Live! area (if my memory is correct) as a sort-of nightclub if needed

Hello folks,
I've seen quite a few guys @ both HAL and Princess forums mentioning about free casino sails. Wondering how did you guys receive this promo - like did you gamble heaps whine on the ship to be qualified for this offer? And guess it's a USA based offer only isn't it?
Cheers,

Thank you! Actually, far fewer days on the Majestic Princess. Something like 47. 93 days on the Ruby Princess.
Can only dream of getting some cruise this long, especially after the saga now!
Hope you'd enjoyed some of Aussie hosptality in the meantime 😉
I was on Ruby for the 3 night sampler in Feb'20 - weather was probably at its worst with storms and high waves but the ship itself was fabulous. Kinda sad when it got involved in the worst cruise ship cluster later on.

Lots of departure (and arrival) pics here:

i think it’s really my favorite ports to sail into or out of, even better than Rio de Janeiro, Venice and Bora Bora.
I just realised you spent 140 days on Majestic!
WOW!
Lucky you fella!

Could that be due to some ports especially in Norway cannot handle the size of Regal?

Grabbed myself part of Majestic repo to America - first leg of it actually. Departing 05MAR21 SYD to ADL
Just need to pay the tax and my credit have leftover! 😄

The fire boats spraying water, only occasionally happens such as when it is a brand new ship for Sydney or say three ships from the same line are meeting up in the harbour and the cruise line wants publicity.
In saying that it is a wonderful sailout and we always enjoy it. Especially exciting if you go under the bridge. Though that will happen less now as there are more larger ships.
Yep the biggest one currently fits under the bridge is Noordam and will become Pacific Adventure when it arrives.
However Pacific Adventure as Golden Princess never went to White Bay - same goes for Ruby but can be understandable (Ruby has one more deck than Golden)
After the sale of Sun and Sea it'd be Coral, Island & Pacific for Princess to White Bay only IMO - everything else will be at OPT

Do you get any extras from booking with PVP rather than just doing it online?
Not much really - that's why I did not try and reconnect with another PVP after my Oct cruise was canned
It's only a freebie that never arrived into my cabin (yeah) and extra $25 pp OBC - I don't really need this thanks. If it's $125 it might lure me that way but not with $25

Stupid question, what does PVP stand for, a travel agent or a princess rep? I haven't have a personal princess rep for years since she left. and i have not booked with a travel agent for even longer, since having all sorts of problems with them in past
Princess Vacation Planner
I have gone between booking direct, booking with PVP and via travel agent now - obviously I'm more a deal seeker lol

I just called my PVP and she transferred it over to a new booking..showed up in 30 minutes
For me my cancelled one was with my PVP but she doesn't seem to be with PCL any longer as I can't get a hold onto her now
I'll probably use an agent that I used before for my next booking as it can save me quite a few hundred bucks per person

Good point about loosing out on bonus. then again it is not a great amount on a $100 FCD
Well you can always add deposits onto the file before they canned them if you're pretty sure that's what is going to happen - and then they'll gonna get you more money for it 😉

Another thought - I have another FCD with another cruise that might need to be cancelled. Am I likely to get FCD back quicker if I cancel it myself rather than wait for Princess to do it?
Maybe, but then you might risk forfelting any money they offered
Unless this is already a bonus FCD from previous cruise - in that case I don't have an answer ufnortunately

Well thanks for the info. No more booking for me till it turns up then 😞
Fingers crossed it'll show up soon - I see you're coming from Perth and Majestic actually has quite a deal on her last voyage out! Hopefully you won't miss that lol.

Good grief, it took 2 months for the booking to fall off??!!
Oh yeah, welcome to Princess's IT - lol
The only thing I can praise them (as I work in the industry) is their back-end finance system. Everything else including most of the customer-facing pages are pretty meh at best - IMO I would say only the Medallion app was an exemption but then I saw the thread another day about the sailing cancelled cruise lol.

31st Oct. But I don't want it refunded to credit card I want it back at FCD, don't know why that isn't system- automatic once a cruise is cancelled. How long did it take for your cruise to fall off your bookings - mine is still "live"?
It's still on my cruise personaliser as an active booking - but with no values in there. Mind you their IT is quite a "genius" - apparently someone's cancelled cruise from ages ago was showing as "sailing" on their Medallion app 🙄
If you want an FCD just do nothing - they'll automatically credit that to you. And that's what we did beforehand as well.
Update - the booking finally got dropped off today. Was still there yesterday.
Cheers,

Thanks for that. I just got through on online chat with someone from Princess and they said they don't know how it will be treated yet, whether it will be available for reuse, refunded or turned into FCC. Very annoying, these FCD's are very valuable
They are for sure. I happen to had a large deposit on the cancelled cruise but not full fare - getting 100% extra of that was nice.
Did they give you any indication on when to request cash refund by? FCDs will probably come after the deadline for cash refund requests as a lot of older posts suggested.
The deadline given to us was 31 August so really it took them like 20 days to process them after this.

My 11 Oct 20 cruise out of Sydney was cancelled on 23 Jul and it showed up just shy of 60 day mark - around 19-20 Sep mark

Yep I agree - but they also need to be quaranteened on the ship like what has been done for all other cruise lines who resumed their sailings. Dream Cruises quaranteened in Keelung for 30 days, and I believe Costa and Tui did the same.

Do you mean that they will be sold in 2020 itself?
Most likely, they'll gonna need the cash for their survival

RCL Reprice - is this ever possible?
in Royal Caribbean International

Thanks all
They usually treat us (down in Australia) the same in terms of these arrangements as what it was in the USA apparently - fingers crossed the same will apply (and not being "cut" in an attempt to gain more revenue)
Cheers,
Michael
