Can you tell me if there are safes in the rooms at Princess Denali Wilderness Lodge?  Like on the ship?  Thanks!

I just looked at the ship cruise log from last year on the Ruby and it says "The rangers boarded the ship using the starboard pilot ladder at 06:00.  As the ship approaches Glacier Bay the park HQ, etc.. is off the starboard side so make sense to board from that side.

Can anyone tell me if you need a passport, if you are travelling round trip Seattle - Alaska - Seattle, with 1 stop in Victoria?  What if you don't get off the ship at Victoria, would you still need the passport?  Thanks

Do you know if they always board on the same side of the ship, and what side is it usually...….someone else on another post said she saw them port side, and that no announcement was made, she just happened to see them.  I think this would be interesting to watch......maybe I should inquire on the ship the day before we go into Glacier Bay?

What side of the ship was your cabin that you were able to see him board the ship?  Do the rangers normally board the same side of the ship?  Also is there an announcement of some kind so that you can get to your window or balcony to watch him board?   Thanks for the wonderful posts!!!

Ok I used the separate log in I made for Play Ocean and that worked...…..

Ok......I say it worked, but its only for DH...….I guess I log in with his e mail and password, but it's like it's him that's logged in, not me...….

Ok that worked!!!  So apparently for Ocean Ready you can use same password and e mail, and log in from 2 different phones.  For Play Ocean, you need 2 separate e mails.  For Ocean Now, use log in from Ocean Ready.

Now to download the other apps!

No....not with Ocean Ready......it's all fine and completed.  The "registration failed" is after I have downloaded the app onto my phone (seems to download perfectly)…..then you go into it and "join ocean" (I think that 's what it says), you have to then put in an e mail address and make a password, then your birthdate.  The next screen it shows the registration failed.

Any suggestions from my post above?  On downloading the other apps?  We keep getting "Registration Failed"

Princess doesn't herd you onto the deck and cram pack you like sardines the way Carnival does.  It's much more civilized.  You're in a climate-controlled public space where you can actually HEAR and SEE the safety precautions (unlike just about every other cruise line - the worst being RCI where people talked, ate and drank during the whole presentation ).  Once muster is done, THEN the ship will sail away.  It really works out perfectly.

DH and I are Ocean Ready using same e mail and password (we both have Ocean Ready on our phones and can log in with same e mail and password).  All the other apps (which sound like they don't have anything to do with the Ocean Ready app), do require a separate e mail (could be same password), for both.  At least that is my experience.  I have only done the Ocean Ready, and also Play Ocean (where you make your little avatar)  I have to use 2 separate e mail accounts.  DH tried to get Ocean Now, and was unsuccessful.  Not sure if we are doing anything wrong. I'm thinking as long as we have Ocean Ready when we board we should be fine, then once aboard, either we can ask (if we haven't been successful downloading the other apps), or according to one of the Princess Patters that someone posted there is a seminar in the theater after we get on the ship.

So we are doing Northbound and I have read "what to expect" as far as Glacier Bay......a ranger comes aboard ship, etc...…..does something similar happen at College Fjord?  What do I expect that day?   Thanks!

Thank you  PandaBear62 for all this wonderful info!  We leave on the Royal in just a few weeks...…...how was your experience with Ocean Medallion and the apps?  We are all "Ocean Ready", but trying to do the apps......it's not letting me, do you need separate accounts for each person?  We only have 1 e mail address that we share, and the apps are asking for e mail.   Thanks!!
