I'm a longtime NCL cruiser sailing on my first RCL ship next month.
I'm hoping for some advice on how best to navigate the MDR for solo dining.
I often enjoy dinner with just a good book, and on NCL it's usually no problem to get seated a a 2-top outside of the real peak times. Should I expect a similar experience on Anthem next month?

There is NO dollar more stupidly spent on a cruise ship then on bottled water.
For crying out loud, take an empty bottle, fill it with tap water from your sink that's probably cleaner than what you drink at home, throw a lemon slice in there (optional) and put it in the fridge. A hour or two later it's literally indistinguishable from what you pay for, AND you don't have to poison yourself by drinking out of an aluminum-lined box!

While we are watching others sailing out today & tomorrow, on the Gem & Bliss ... on the subject of beef, I think the mushroom beef burger w. bacon was good in OSH. It was big & edible and better than the ones in the buffet. Haven't seen much comments from those that tried it in the "Locals" 😛 😋
Early January in NY and it's 47, going up to 50 degree F with fog & drizzle.
Those frozen fries look so sad. Probably not even salted.

Ate there on the Gem in December and the vegetable fried rice tasted like packing peanuts.
The lemon pepper chicken actually wasn't bad.

What do you do with your room service dishes? Call room service/ cabin steward ?
I don't order room service, but if I did, that's exactly what I would do.
People who leave their refuse in the hallway are trash.

This is one fee increase I won't bemoan.
You can't turn a corner without finding a place to eat on these ships, and you also need to tie on the feed bag in your room? Then pay up. Otherwise squeeze yourself into some sweatpants and waddle up to the buffet.
There should also be a $500 fee for the disgusting pigs who leave their dirty trays and dishes in the hallway.

Exactly. Thanks to Frank Del Rio we have starting cruising other lines. Before Frank we were pretty much loyal to NCL.
RCL can thank Frank for my first ever sailing with them coming up next month!

The fact you can buy priority boarding in front of Platinum cruisers is such a slap in the face. What next NCL? Pay for cuts in the buffet line?
NCL hates Platinum cruisers. It's so obvious.

You mean the pnuemonia room?

Thanks for the info. Any details on rates for using the a la carte kiosks in the library?
-
If I sign up for the WIFI plan a couple days into the cruise, am I retroactively billed for the previous days?
Are there "a la carte" options in the library on the kiosks? If so what type of pricing applies?
I'm on the Anthem in February, and I'm trying to figure out my options if I realize I need Internet access but don't commit to it before the start of the cruise.
Thanks for any info you can provide!

Honestly - I'd probably pay the $5 for that crab cake.
DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

I can't think of anything sadder than traveling to another country to eat at a lousy American chain restaurant like Bubba Gump Shrimp or Margaritaville.

This is for 3 people.
1 app, 1 main, 2 sides
There is no limit on apps or sides using the dining package. The only restriction is a charge for additional main courses.

Pre-2015 dry dock, Gem's Bliss Lounge was just as inviting ... No views whatsoever, lights on a dimmer ?? with dozens of loungers & oversized sofa and several beds ... bring your own pillows, blankets & throws - optional.
Hardly anybody inside when we've roaming around, let alone seeing anyone taking a nice nap. Remodeled since, last time we're there for the Latitude CruiseNext marketing seminar/reception - beds were gone.
What?!

The same pillow this sea witch is rubbing her bunyons on could well be the one you see other people pressing their face into and drooling on. So freaking gross.

What's the point of paying for premium liquor if you just dump it in a margarita?

Hmmm.....never had a beer with licorice root. Is it good?
Probably tastes like black jellybeans. Gross.

The lava cake sucks.

Spinnaker is essentially the same kind of space, just smaller. However you don't see the vile barefoot masses conked out and drooling on themselves for hours on end. What's the difference? Does having the food right there make people more likely to encamp themselves?

Thanks. I opted for MTD.
Was hoping for details like which MDR if any is best for this, suggested times (I assume later is better), etc.
