I didn't want to do a Norway cruise thinking it would be an Alaska 2.0 and was pushing for Japan but "Ms. Nuts" really wanted to go. Glad we went because the scenery was amazing. For those who enjoy terrible puns, Alaska and Norway were a night-and-day difference
We are sailing on Princess to Norway as we don’t want to sail E class for a scenic cruise.
In Vienna today …

The two tops are too close together for my tastes…

When will the pricing show up for 2026?

I just want to mention, that if someone is on the fence with an Alaskan cruise, strongly consider a Norway cruise instead. Alaska was a one-and-done for us, perhaps when there's more to do in the ports we'll consider it again. The Alaska Fjords were enjoyable, but the Norway Fjords were stunning in comparison plus you get 18 hours of daylight. It was just magical to walk around the outside of the ship at 9 pm and it's still sunny out illuminating the Fjords. In the Alaska ports, after you finish your tour there isn't a whole lot to do besides tourist shops, bars, and restaurants. Much more to do in most Norway ports as they berth in major cities which are often several hundreds of years old. Norway was occupied by Germany in WW2 so there's some interesting history in most ports
This is our next ocean cruise …

I do find the Chefs table and wine pairing rather pricey on X.
I am currently on a river cruise where the chefs table is no charge and we get to visit 3 times. The experience is much better also. Local cuisine and local wines.

Have not done a River cruise, will do so in the future. Will sail in June when the water levels are lowering from their peak spring runoff. Will try one and see, all one can .
You will love the river cruise. It is a large step up from ocean cruises.
I would compare Celebrity to a river cruise but people tell me it is not a fair comparison.

Imagine combining that with a river cruise..talk about a snore fest.
@PTC DAWG I am surprised that you cruise at all if it is all about the night life and entertainment.
perhaps you would be better off on a Vegas vacation…. With A grade entertainment and night life. To me the Celebrity entertainment is very average on a good day.

We are doing the whole Danube.

I would like to do a 2nd Europe cruise.
-
I am currently on the Danube. Which rivers should I consider for my second river cruise?
BTW I am totally impressed with river cruising…

Carnival is your party line …

What does a cruise fare include? Excursions? Wine? Any extra fees?

Perhaps it is the separation/segregation that leads to these unrealistic expectations.
On my current cruise (not X) every one is treated the same and eats in the same dining room. Excellent service for every one.

For us it's because even if our kids are allowed, they'll be bored out of their minds.
The premium lines may lack some of the fun (though Sun Princess is changing that) but they at least have things available for our kids to do.
Fair enough. I get having kids on the mass market lines.

I am on a river cruise now…. Starting to book more river cruises.

Sigh…
Not sure why people don’t do luxury cruises vs the nickel and dime of mass market cruises.
The economics of the luxury cruises is better. And is the service all around…

E class more like Edge …

I prefer room service myself. The OVC is too much of a circus…

So do we get a T shirt for being in the one and done E class club?
Asking for a friend…

Now you know why some of us will not choose E class again unless in a suite.
Besides the loud and shouty I missed the views and connection to the sea.

I will likely book Princess also. Don’t want to wait and find out it is on an E class ship.

We also are looking at Norway in 2025 and prefer the longer cruises. Thing is, we much prefer S-class or M-class ships since they have real balconies. It appears we're out of luck and will be on Apex, unless we abandon Celebrity, the only cruise line we've ever used. Apparently it's time to start shopping around.
Not a fan of E class myself…
I am looking elsewhere.
