Lots of ships have left with lots of passengers since the corona virus appeared. What lines other than Princess have there been cases? Has there been a case on Celebrity? Betting odds are good that there will be more cases on other lines, but for now: "the only thing we need to fear, is fear itself".

Trump just announced that: "we will help the cruise line industry". Let's see how this affects the stock.
-
There is an old adage: "Don't try to catch a falling knife". That could well be applied to RCL stock today.

How much time do you need?

I would still cancel. Not only the coronavirus, but the drop in the stock market might force a lowering of prices. People might begin to reevaluate their spending.

It is not a TA, it sounds like Viking Ocean (VO)...
bon voyage
I reread the OP's comment and he says "it's not Celebrity" so you are once again correct. Why would the OP post on the Celebrity board?

I would agree with Bo1953. The real risk is that prices go up rather than remaining the same or going down. If you really love your cabin you run the real risk of not getting it. However, with the current environment the odds are in your favor to get a better price, but in this case there seems to be no option and you are not getting any discount. I know you can't answer this question without violating the posting rules, but what TA wants final payment 6 months out? Now Crystal gives a discount if you pay in full 9 months out as an option. I'd look into other deals with other TAs if you decide to cancel.

I'm sure that the people in the Corporate office are feeling the heat. They have very difficult decisions to make and I am certain that they're doing their best to protect all.

In past posts on the same topic I posted several examples of good buys I found on more expensive handbags, Jewlery and watches. If you have non refundable OBC and want an item that credit should be counted as part of the savings. On a recent Crystal cruise my DW purchased a Ferrigamo handbag she had been looking at in stores back home. Using non refundable OBC she spent $250 for a bag that was way over $1000 at Bloomingdale's. "Use it or lose it " combined with researching prices may lead to real buys.
If you take a B2B on Crystal the unused OBC carries over from one cruise to the other. That can result in substantial OBC which must be spent or lost. Crystal only carries high end products and OBC is a good way to reduce the impact on your wallet. I only wish Celebrity treated a B2B as a continuous cruises and perks were carried over.

We are flying in the night before our cruise and planned to board in the morning. After checking in via the app, we are assigned to board at 1:30. Is Celebrity strict in making us adhere to that time? We’ve never been assigned such a late time before.
Yes!

Appears to me that when posters say they: "won" a move-up bid" they're really saying that they were willing to pay more than anyone else for an unsold stateroom. Guess price really doesn't matter if you want it.
-
I've been following Edge April 5th and 12 cruises and the prices have come down dramatically. For some reason there is lots of availability on the 12th in all cabin categories.

"Me too' and would be staffed by all female officers. "Me too Two" also would be staffed by all female officers and would provide an opportunity for women to be promoted.

RCL stock would go down even more than today!

I actually lost weight. Didn't have bread and pasta. Only used small plates in the buffet.

To answer your questions:
We asked if RCL was going to "Buy" the last 1/3 of Silversea they do not own and nobody knows? Those investment decisions are kept close to the vest I would assume.
Regarding Captains club and Silversea's Venetian society. The Ventian societies best benefit is free laundry after 100 nights and is cheap about their free cruises.....only offering a 7 night cruise after 350 nights sailing......Not sure how they would integrate but if they did I bet they would have many more "crossovers". When we brought up RCL buying Silversea, many of the long time Silversea passengers claimed they already see cuts? Not for us to say. Sometimes the whisper causes panic......We stopped talking about it as we didn't want to "rock the boat" Onboard sales was CLUELESS on anything Celebrity or Royal.....There is NO cross selling yet happening. This is strange to me as many of these passengers have grandkids and great grandkids and Royal is a Great line for Kids and family trips etc.
Dress code: I squeaked in with a Jacket and Tie on formal nights. You do not necessarily need a "Suit" however most men were quite dressed up, actually more so then the Women on this cruise. Many many tuxedo's also in attendance. I hope this helps your packing.
Lastly, I forgot something very nice to bring up. They had a few singles onboard well into their 80's and the butlers would wheel them into the dining room at night for dinner and then take them back to their cabins.....a Nice personal touch I thought.
As far as Galapagos, I may be wrong but I think Celebrity sold the sister of Flora to Silversea to increase their footprint....adventure travel brings in BIG $$ for these cruiselines. Also, as you are in a national park, each cruiseline is only allowed a certain amount of "Medals" which allow the ships to sail there, so nobody has an unfair advantage and it controls pollution etc. So there are only so many ships that can go there.....FYI.
Safe sails to all. Cheers!
Try Crystal! More expensive, but to me worth every cent. I'm a Crystal Loyalist.

I've found that a sincere "thank you" works well. A positive comment card notation is also appreciated.

I disagree. If you simply cancel the cruise, it is just one more book and cancel. They get thousands of these all the time. The email is the best way to start the complaint process. Telling them on the phone about your complaint is OK but a written letter to the president of the company is the best way to go.
I would be surprised if an email sent to the CEO is actually read by the CEO. Large businesses tend to have secretaries who screen email and then send them to the proper department for response. A call receives an immediate response. You need to note the time of the call and person or persons you spoke to. The personal touch t you can get from a call to a human being can sometimes result in their going the extra steps to help you.

An email is impersonal and all you can expect is another email. A call is probably the better option. If you don't get satisfaction you can always ask to speak to a supervisor.

If you're referring to the cutting of the 4 tags on luggage -- NO. We searched for awhile then went to lost and found where they had been left. Had a noon flight back to Canada. This was in 2011 and I remember the tag on mine had to have been cut. 4 tags just don't fall off. I complained because the cabin steward had come into our cabin on two separate occasions each time I was not dressed. Knocked on door once then walked in. No I'm sorry or anything so I went to guest relations. Should have kept my mouth shut.
Hint: Lock the door from the inside when you are in the room and no one can walk in. I would have reported the incident. They have so many security cameras they could have traced the path of your luggage and would have seen who might have tampered with it.
Yikes! Over age 70 passengers need doctor’s note (Merged threads)

Sending out a note without examination would not insure that the passenger was really free from infection. Also, you can be examined a week before the cruise and be a carrier when you board. Only a real health check right before you board would possibly be effective. Who pays for the visit to the doctor? Sounds to me like the cruise lines and government are using the bureaucracy to protect themselves from legal action
