  1. Royal has Choice Air which has fantastic deals on one way flights for repositioning cruises. Go to the Choice Air website and put in the quick search for flights for your cruise. You will probably do better yourself going from Fla back home....we've bought flights from them MIA (better prices IMHO than FLL) to Rome and the prices have been about a quarter of what a round trip ticket (not using half the ticket) would be.

Choice Air is available for Royal, Celebrity and Azamara cruises.

  2. Orator, I tried what you suggested. It is true that if you click Manage Your Reservation and go to the main info page and then select Shore Excursions from the top menu that you get to another page where it asks you to narrow down the excursions by choosing a type or a city....but when you do make a selection and click....nothing happens.

If you try to click Shore Excursions directly from the list of your reserved cruises you immediately get the error message.

Bottom line...neither option lets you make any shore excursions.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day...

  3. There is no need at all for you to be patient. Polite, yes (but then you are Canadian!), but not patient. I would call on a daily basis and keep a written record of the time and person you spoke to. Call the Captain's Club and any other person/department you can think of. Be persistent. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I had a problem with a TA that was "resolving" a booking for me. I kept waiting and waiting...at the end of each week I'd send an email asking for progress reports. Finally I realized that wasn't doing it and I started sending daily emails with the date in the subject headline saying Resolution Needed Now and cced the head of her agency. Surprise. It got resolved a few days later...

  4. Hey, not sure if this is the correct place to post this. We are taking two cruises and have a 2 night layover between cruises. I thought about going to the Keys as I've never been there. From Ft. L. But I don't know where the best place to stay would be....I'm more interested in being off the beaten tourist path (sorry, forgot to say our layover is Feb 6-7, 2014) and having gorgeous nature views.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

  5. Transatlantics are great buys! Our last one was Silhouette's April FLL to Rome. I booked it the previous December (before final payment) when our balcony cabin for 2 was a total of $1777.96. Choice Air (available for those cruising on X, Royal or Azamara) has great one way prices....we paid under $1000 for TWO flights from Rome to FLL. So the whole cruise/air cost less than $3000. You'd need to add in hotels....etc.

  6. I was on an Eclipse sailing in January and never received an email or other notice from X that the vouchers were to be used. However others on our Roll Call did and so I was alerted that would be the case. We loved it!! We had drinks at the bar aft of the Buffet. Sushi is put out around that time so you could get a snack if you wanted. I drink white wine so at least it was always cold....which it was not often when passed on trays. And we would stop at the Passport Bar to pick up a drink to take into dinner; the Martini Bar was always crowded.

  7. Just one more accolade to your inimitable review. Even if I were not interested in sailing on Allure or Oasis I would have luxuriated in your detailed account/review.

I started off an interested reader; I ended up booking the Oasis, motivated entirely by your pictorals.

And I'll just be one more of the throngs who tell you that your photography is absolutely unparalleled.
