  1. Thank you. Good to know for the first day for sure…definitely in my experience it’s nice to move around the ship and see what you can view from different areas.
  2. 100%…that’s my luck too! For me wildlife is a bonus — if it happens great if not okay as well!
  3. We are Starboard side too so good additional question.
  4. I am looking for some input/thoughts on the viewing of scenery on the summer sailings out of Seattle. I am fully aware of the limitations of the itinerary and do not need to engage in conversation that I picked the wrong one. I have previously sailed out of Vancouver and appreciate the benefits but for various reasons am not this time. Given the itinerary, what days/times (if any) might have the best Alaska and Northern Washington Coast (if that is visible at all as that was great on a previous Seattle to Vancouver train ride) scenery to view? Trying to wrap my head around what to expect. If they will all stink I’m good with that too just trying to plan. I read some posts over on the Alaska ports section of CC and just got annoyed as it was the typical garbage that people picked the wrong itinerary and I’m not asking for opinions on my personal itinerary choice. Thank you in advance for any positive input on this matter as I’ve seen others post that they will be on the same itinerary this year and I’m sure some might like to know what to expect as well.
  5. I’m following along on this convo…going to Alaska on Edge this summer. I’ve sailed out of Vancouver before so this is a bit different and not on Celebrity.
  6. Okay so on the app I went into my calendar, toggled to the day, clicked the dining reservation and went to manage it and it gives the price (matches my email.) So now I know… 🙂
  7. Yes except I used OVC. I found an email receipt that I “think” might be it. lol. If so the price doesn’t match any standard pricing for dining but I might cancel get the OBC back and rebook. Fun little game…will it be worth it….yes or no…lol…
  8. Yes, that is my problem and I don’t have a narrowed down sense of when I made that change. Lol
  9. Where in the cruise planner? I poured over it (desktop version as the app seems to have “less” functionality but couldn’t find it.
  10. Is there an easy way (short of trying to find the correct invoice in my email in box) to see how much I paid for say a dining reservation or upgrades (out of OBC?). I want to cancel and rebook if it’s less expensive but I have no idea what I spent.
  11. You never know when people will feel compassionate and allow a change. I’d try to cancel with a refund or see if you can move the cruise (if they will do it I’d go o a year plus out under the circumstances.) A divorce with a child involved could very easily take that long to resolve. What a great mom! We sacrifice a lot but someday you can go on your cruise and relax knowing you helped.
  12. I am going to try it on a 4 night cruise that’s cheap in a prime veranda (3 ppl for $1300 including gratuities.) I’ve always done everything included/premium drink package, but I want to see. I’ll buy a two day WiFi plan when I see a good deal and pay for drinks as we go. I figure the “risk” is lower on a short cruise with only one sea day to rack up much. I’m usually in the camp of people liking that you don’t have to worry if it’s all paid for already but the prices are somewhat mind boggling…
  13. Do they have conditioner in the bathrooms as well? And, is the hand soap a bar or a pump dispenser variety?
  14. I am following this as I was wondering the same thing about Victoria timing.
  15. Would they charge us for that? For my own budgeting I’d want to know and pay my share if you will.
  16. I think we’ve decided it probably wouldn’t work. They were wondering if we could send the teenagers to eat elsewhere and join them in their suite. Understandably, part of the allure for them is in suite dining. It’s only a 4 night cruise so it comes down to spending time with them and if they are suite guests and we are not they’d have to give up all the benefits of their stateroom category to hang with us. Thank you for the input and I apologize for the unclear nature of my follow up question. They asked it, I jumped on super fast to ask and then didn’t come back….
  17. SI’m here’s a twist…can we swap kids for adult? We have very well behaved 16 year olds who have eaten solo on a cruise while parents were busy (Disney) .) Not a huge deal just want to know what to expect.
  18. We have booked a verandah on silhouette. Friends are contemplating a penthouse…what is the chance we could eat with them in their penthouse/luminae? Is it zero???? Of course, I know they can eat with us in the MDR…just trying to understand the full picture.
  19. Good idea. I’m now rethinking that just going to Miami and spending one night in key west might make sense. It’s insanely expensive so the cruise was way cheaper…lol
  20. I haven’t specifically asked about cruise line passengers but there refund policy is very clear and I’d need to know 48 hrs before which isn’t enough of a window for this particular scenario I’m wondering about.
  21. So I am toying with the idea of a cruise out of FLL next April with a stop in Key West. Taking the float plane to the Dry Tortugas is a bucket list experience. I’ve contacted the company and the times will work for the 1/2 day trip (the price for the full day isn’t something I would do.) My concern is if the ship doesn’t dock or dock on time, losing the money on the excursion. I have an email out to the last travel insurance company I used inquiring (I know I can include it in the cost of the trip but not whether I’d be able to make a specific claim for that amount should it not happen.) Anyone have experience with this sort of situation? I can’t see the key west excursions for celebrity anywhere so I don’t know if it’s offered through them or not, so I guess that’s a second question…
  22. I have not been on Edge yet but the one thing I have picked up about the ship is that in the veranda grooms the location of the bed can either be in the middle of the room or near the balcony. The deck plans have indentations to indicate bed placement. The layout may make a difference for you. Also, having cruised celebrity with kids that age, the itinerary may play into the feasibility of 1 v 2 cabins as well. My kids always did okay in one cabin with the adults (but sane is true for a hotel) and I was just cabin monster making sure everything was put away to ensure there was room. That being said, this is really a personal decision. I assume you’ve played with prices….depending on the promotion you might find the price will vary.
  23. Good to know. I’m not particularly sensitive to cold (I wear flip flops in the north east in the winter and almost never wear a jacket) but that cruise was so so so cold. They brought our kids tablecloths to wrap up in. Lol
  24. Sailing on Edge over the summer to Alaska. Last time I said in Alaska (on DCL) the indoor spaces were freezing…should I expect the dining rooms on Edge to be freezing? Figuring now would be a good time to shop…lol…
