What are the daily service charges for a balcony room on the Anthem and can you use your OBC to pay the charges?
-
I meant to say are the deposits non refundable.

Are reservations made with NCL non refundable if you cancel?

Right now I am cruising on Royal, but have also gone on other lines, Carnival the most.
I’m not solo on my next cruise, which is New Years on Navigator. Going with daughters and grandkids. Not sure how I will do sharing a cabin..😂
My next solo is B5B on Ovation next year from Sydney.
I'm going on the Anthem in January with my sister & brother-in-law. My husband passed away in April and we had this cruise already booked. We had cruised on the Anthem at least 5 other times but always together. It will be strange.

I have traveled solo for years, and it is my preferred way to cruise. I don’t normally attend the meetup, because it’s not really my thing, but I know others that do. I did meet a couple of solos on my recent Wonder TA, on the Roll Call, and would meet up for drinks and play trivia together.
I personally won’t book single cabins, since my goal is to get to 340 points, which then gets you a discount as a solo cruiser. They can add up pretty quickly when booking double occupancy cabins.
Also make sure to check out your Roll Call.
I am very new at traveling solo never really done it yet. I have gone with a girlfriend but never alone. When is your next cruise if I may ask? Do you always go on Royal?

Like any other cabin, it should come up when looking for solo - they book quickly so they may be hard to find.
Are they very much less expensive then a normal balcony?

Been on three 11 day cruises on Anthem. Solo travelers all over. All 12 Studio Balconies filled every trip, plus many more piling up the points in "normal" cabins or JS. Yes there were solo and singles meet-ups. After several trips as solo in an inside cabin, I'm now completely hooked on the Studio Balconies. The Cabin stewards are much more attentive to the Studio guests. Points don't matter, I'll never make it much past my current "Diamond".
I didn't know they had studio balconies. How do I get a price on them?

Thanks for your replies !

Just wondering if people have found many solo travelers on the Anthem especially on the 11 day cruise?
Do they have solo meet ups on this ship?
-
I think you are right I will ask for a 9 pickup
Thanks everyone for your input.

Do you think 10:00 is too late for the pickup?

We're going on the Anthem January 24th. for 11 days coming home Feb.4,2023. We are having a car service pick us up when we debark. What time does everyone have to be off the ship. We cannot walk off with our luggage so what would time do you think we should have the car meet us?
-
What time does the ship arrive back in NY from the cruise to Bermuda? What time can you get off the ship walking off with your luggage?

I am thinking about taking a solo cruise on the Meraviglia when it leaves out of New York and I am wondering how it would be for a solo.

Recent widow, DH died in March. I had to take him off 3 cruises. My sister is going with me on June 25th Infinity cruise and I will do my first solo on September17th on Celebrity Equinox. We had lots of FCC to use up and Celebrity has been great about transferring to me and let me use some for my sister. Has anyone organized a solo cruise? It would be nice to help all of recent solo’s get the courage to go it on our own. Some days I feel brave and others not so much.
I feel exactly the same way. I want to go solo and book a cruise so badly but then I hesitate.

One night = 1 point. For suites, it's 2 points per night. If you're sailing solo in a double occupancy cabin, and booked the cabin as a solo, it's double the points. (per the FAQ, if you booked with double occupancy and your companion does not sail, you still only get the 1 point per night)
Oddly enough, I've only sailed 7 nights on RC (solo in a double occupancy balcony) and have 22 points in my account.
Celebrity Summit sails out of Cape Liberty NJ, mainly to Bermuda with a couple itineraries for Bermuda & Charleston SC and one sailing to Greenland & Iceland next summer. I took a look at prices - no bargains to be found yet. The only Edge-class ship scheduled for Cape Liberty is Celebrity Beyond, which is repositioning this October from Cape Liberty to Ft Lauderdale via Bermuda/Aruba/Curacao.
Did you ever sail on the Summit? How is this ship?

Celebrity has Single Infinite Veranda cabins on the three Edge-class ships (Edge, Apex, and Beyond, category ES). There are 24 on Edge and Apex, 32 on Beyond. All these cabins are on deck 6 and many have obstructed views (lifeboat equipment).
Royal Caribbean includes Studio Balcony cabins (category 2F) on Quantum-class ships (Quantum, Ovation, Anthem, Spectrum, and Odyssey). There are only 12 per ship, with six on deck 6 and six on deck 7. I was supposed to be in one of these cabins next week but had to cancel due to job demands, ack. Oh well. As far as I can tell, Quantrum Ultra ships (Wonder of the Seas is the first) does not have these cabins.
MSC has Studio Balconies (category BS) on Grandiosa and Virtuosa. However, there are only 4 per ship, at the aft of the ship, connected to the adjacent cabin... and have bunk beds. They seem to be intended to be combined with the connecting deluxe balcony to create a family suite. Here's a tour of one such cabin:
Luckily MSC is so well-priced that you can just book a regular balcony.
As far as I know, that's it for mainstream lines with solo balconies. If you're a determined bargain hunter, you don't need to limit yourself to the few options. Five of my last six cruises were in regular balconies!
Does Celebrity go out of New York? Hate to fly.

Celebrity has them on the Edge series ships, and some of the Royal ships do as well. Look for specials throughout the year on all lines though.
Also Royal offers 150pcnt single supplement on all categories once you hit 340 loyalty points. Something to be aware of if you are at that level.

Thanks for your reply. How do I check my loyalty points?
