  1. Perhaps O has attracted some that are used to being on carnival or celebrity. We used to see people behaving badly on celeb, never on O.
  2. sent it to OceaniaClub@oceaniacruises.com the only email address I could find...
  3. Well good luck to me finding an actual email address for O and who to send it to.
  4. Yes to all that you say. Now that O is our cruise line of choice, we wish things were improved with the air that they offer. Need to start a campaign of petitioning them to do better but we are just a small group here, not sure we have any power. But will send the points you made here to their contact info.
  5. Please post any other Regatta reviews, so we can see if there is progress on the food front, since many of you said it needed improvement.
  6. Yes you are right. We were on the Riviera in January. It was amazing, food, ambiance, all of it.
  7. Maybe because they needed the best staff for Vista, many were transferred. New staff take a while to meet standards. On our Marina TA November 2022, 23 day, mid way, the dessert chef changed in the Terrace buffet and the desserts went from "not to be missed" to " don't bother, they are awful". We will be on the Regatta the whole of September. Will watch for reviews closer to that time. That may give me a clue as to what to expect. But I am very picky about food, what is good to others is just ok for me. We don't do room service so that's not an issue.
  8. Doing my good deed in telling others. Thank you for asking.
  9. Hopefully all good things from now on. Let us know.
  10. Excellent to hear. Enjoy all of it. We are booked on all other O ships. Regatta 27 days coming up in Sept, sadly the reviews are poor but hope by then, the staff are more experienced and the food improves.
  11. Yes will do it after final pay. But used the E sale, so probably will get nothing. I bought the shares for the benefit to help with gratuities.
  12. Very troubling to hear this. We are on the Regatta for 27 days in Sept. Food is the number one issue for us. Yes we are very picky. But after Viking Star in March/April, I could no longer be picky about O. Yes Viking food was that terrible. We dont do room service, we dont eat sea food. Im sure we will be fine.
  13. Im not a wine drinker, but an analogy comes to mind. Its like saying, the cost of this wine is low, I will buy it, doesnt matter that I have not tasted anything else. The cost is all that matters. Anyone else with an apt analogy?
  14. If you sail a line based on cost alone, you have no idea of what is value. And if you are comparing cost only, then you missed including all the things that are included on O. But of course if you have not sailed on O, you have no idea what those things are. You may be able to compare cost of a similar cabin to a similar cabin, but to disregard all else, does not give a true picture. I would not sail on C for free. We just came off the Viking Star, used up covid credits, so it was free but that is another line I would not sail for free. So comparing costs of just cabins and ignoring all else is a waste of time. Sail the line, take the cheapest cabin. Come back here and tell us how it compared.
  15. After 50 cruises with C, we could no longer tolerate the bad food, the kids and the class divisions. To get better food , we would have to book a suite and still put up with so much we no longer like about C. We now travel only on O, with a 6th cruise coming up. Whether in a balcony or an inside, we dine in the same venues as those in the penthouse and enjoy the classy atmosphere sans kids and sans crass. Take a look at their loyalty program and take that into account when price comparing. We will soon enjoy included gratuities and other obcs. Take that off the price, as well as a free cruise after 19. Being elite plus on C gets us things that are normally included on O. Bottom line, it's the ambience that brings us back to O and keeps us away from lines like C. If you have never tried O, you have no business making ANY comparisons, cost or anything else because you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
  16. And someone else chose to spend their time critiquing the choice to spend time querying Oceania. Each to their own.
  17. You do know that you don't have to read posts that don't interest you or annoy you, nor respond to them.
  18. ok...well now you can also see it in writing whereas before people were going on word of mouth... someone even asked if it may apply to 2024.... it applies to all going forward.... my first contact was the air department and they could not tell me where I could find this policy...thats not very reassuring....lol.... anyway now it is done...case closed.... but would still like to hear how others are doing with their O flights....
  19. So the poster that said they paid deviation, maybe they were at the 90 or later point. Be aware of that date.
  20. Ok rep #6 gave me the answer.... on page 4 of your invoice in fine print... as long as it is outside of the 90 days and you accept the flight given, O will NOT charge a deviation fee....it is there in writing....the important fact being the "outside of the 90 days and no more than 3 days earlier or later".
  21. still on hold for rep # 6.... outrageous... yes I know you will all tell me that my TA should be the one to find it... no way would I expect my TA to spend this kind of time on this... ok...will let you know ...
  22. I have been on the phone with O for almost an hour, being passed from one rep to another, all agree that there is no deviation fee going in a day or two earlier as long as you let them know 90 days before and accept the flights given...BUT no one can show me where this new policy is in writing...I am now on the 3 rep.... stay tuned...
