  1. We got on the Emerald Princess on June 24. We have only been on 3 other cruises, 2 Celebrity and 1 Disney. We mostly have been impressed with Princess but their internet is as bad as most of the comments say. We are on Plus and have found lots to choose from. One of my favorites reds is a Chilean Carmenere from Errazuriz. I have also enjoyed some wines that are more than Plus since you just pay the difference plus gratuity. We have 2 days to go. Da Vincini MDR reserve has been great. As you mentioned service great. I really wish the Plus wine list named the producers.
  2. We are currently on Emerald and internet is slow and inconsistent. We are on the June 24 trip to the Mexican Riviera. I am using an ipad.
  3. We boarded the Disney Magic in Galveston last Thursday RT to Cozumel. We are having a very good time with our son, his wife, and our almost 5 grand daughter. The food and service have mostly been very good. I was very amazed at their selections of wine by the glass. Two of my favorites are Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc and Te Kahu red blend. These are both out of NZ. Also everything listed so far has been in stock. Tonight is Pirate Night. Our grand daughter is very much enjoying the Disney characters.
  4. we had Willakenzie PG 2018, Gran Moraine Chard 2018, Ponzi Classico 2015, Penner Ash PN Estate Vyd 2017, and Gran Moraine PN 2014. It was really nice to pour one with a little age to it. It was also much fun as I know all these people.
  5. I am currently on a 15 night cruise from San Diego through the Panama Canal to San Juan, PR. This is day 12. On day 5 I noticed and Oregon tasting. I am from Oregon and have been selling their wines retail for 35+ years. We had Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and 3 Pinot Noirs. All the wines were very good examples. We are on Millenium and Cellar Master person is Marren. She has been great at finding wines. I hope they are doing Oregon tastings on other ships.
  6. I had verified with shoreside concierge twice but not in our room when we arrived. Talked to our room attendant when we got into our room. He immediately brought water and cord. There was not a standard outlet by the bed only a European. He then brought us and installed an adapter and made sure it worked. Absolute great service.
  7. We are on the Sept 30 sailing on Millenium from San Diego through the Panama Canal historic locks ending in San Juan, PR. We are around 800 passengers. Suites are full.
  8. Marren is in Cellar Masters. She seems very knowledgeable. She has been able to find me Freemark Abbey Napa cab in their stocks. I will say hi.
  9. So announcement tonight was that stop in Puerto Vallarta is cancelled and replaced with a sea day. When I looked at NOAA this afternoon that is what I expected.
  10. So this is 15 nights through the Panama Canal historic locks. This was on my wife’s bucket list for a long time. This is our 2nd cruise. The crew has been great and very helpful. What I am surprised about is only about 40% filled. We are certainly enjoying ourselves immensely. Of course we are just at the beginning of our cruise. Next stop is Puerto Vallarta as there is a possible tropical storm they are watching.
