  1. Thanks for this update. I've been hoping for a recent Panorama review. I recently booked a trip on her for February 2024. Our itinerary has 2 days in Cabo so I will plan ahead for the gauntlet and will tell my crew to be prepared! I'll be traveling with two teens who I'm pretty sure I will embarrass.
  2. Thank you. I realize the typo in my original post read that I was not "above" the galley when obviously deck 2 is BELOW deck 3. I was able to confirm that although we are "below" the dining areas, our room is situated more below the dining room and shore excursion desk. We are very excited to have confirmed the room! I will make sure to take plenty of photos and report back once we return.
  3. Seriously? Ugh. My PVP confirmed it was not. How can you tell?
  4. I just placed a Cove Balcony on hold for a February 2024 Panorama sailing. Am I correct in thinking that this will help shield me from the wind that I hear is common on the way down/back from Mexican Riviera? I'm really looking forward to seeing what these are all about. I do get motion sickness so maybe being lower will help? I did manage to make sure it is not above the galley. I think it's room 2294. I'm hoping I too am one who loves them 😉
  5. It's so hard to know this far in advance. Who knows what teen friend drama can happen between now and February! Thanks for the reply.
  6. Thank you! I had heard that recently too. That's why I wanted to check.
  7. Thank you. I hope that is the case. Seems like less to worry about if we can simply stick the boys in their own room from the start.
  8. Thank you! I will look into this.
  9. Thank you very much! This is very reassuring.
  10. Thank you! This may be a silly question... so if I put my husbands name on one room and mine on the other, do we then just swap room keys when we get on board? Any charges to either room will still ultimately be my responsibility. We both will want the Cheers package and that stays with the person, not the room, correct?
  11. We are considering a Carnival cruise next February on the Panorama. I have never cruised Carnival before. I plan to book 2 (connecting) inside staterooms. One for my husband and I and the other for our 17 year old son and a friend. Problem is... I don't know this far out which friend he plans to bring. I've read some threads that state I can put TBA for this friend but want to confirm. Other threads say this is no longer an option. I do not have a TA yet, I could get one I suppose. Would they be able to help me? I don't want to spend a ton later on change fees. I appreciate any guidance.
  12. Itinerary Update: My mom clarified reports that there were folks who did in fact get off the ship in Halifax but that town was basically closed. She just received a letter in her stateroom stating that they are: "no longer able to stop in Sydney, NS on 9/27 and will instead spend the day at sea. Additionally, we are unable to visit Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on Wednesday 9/28 due to damage from the storm, and will instead call to Baie Comeau, on 9/28. We have also added a visit to Saguenay on Thursday, 9/29. We will then continue to Quebec City for our scheduled call on Friday 9/30 and expect to arrive there one hour earlier than scheduled." I feel bad for her as the whole reason for the trip was her lifelong dream to visit Cape Breton Island. This is her 75th birthday gift to herself. I told her I will take her for her 76th birthday 🙂
  13. I really appreciate the Feet Report. My mother is currently on the HAL Zaandam which is docked in Halifax, Novia Scotia. They were not allowed off the ship today due to the power outages. They are required to stay onboard. I'm hoping to get an itinerary update from her once she knows what is happening. The one port she was really looking forward to is tomorrow in Sydney. I have a feeling she may be disappointed. So hoping for the safety of all in that neck of the woods.
  14. My mother is currently on the Zaandam which is docked in Halifax (9/26/22). They were not allowed off the ship due to the power outages. When asked if she knew what the plan was for the remaining ports, she said she has not received any updates. They originally left Boston on Saturday, stopped in Bar Harbor on Sunday and are now sitting on the ship in Halifax port on Monday. Supposed to go to Sydney, Nova Scotia on Tuesday....etc. Fingers crossed they find alternative stops.
  15. lol. I booked the second to the last Boardwalk balcony cabin on Allure deck 10 for the reasons you mentioned above. I haven't told my family about the walk yet... 😉
  16. When my husband and I cruised out of Miami we had a great time in South Beach. Stayed at The Palms Hotel and Spa before our cruise and then some low budget motel near the airport on the backend. Loved being able to walk around the beach and the food was fantastic!
  17. This information is very helpful. I recently took advantage of the prepurchase deal ($100 in credits for only $75) for my 15 year old. Now I think I may cancel it. Can anyone confirm that there are in fact gaming consoles in the teen hangout room on Allure? He'd much prefer to do that.
  18. Wonderful news! Thank you. We have no mobility issues and I will tell my family there is no dilly dallying allowed! Makes me feel much better. I'm really looking forward to a visit to the ruins.
  19. I recently booked our Costa Maya excursion with The Native Choice. Per our RCI itinerary, our ship arrives at 8:00 (ship time). Our tour with Native Choice leaves their office at 9:00 (ship time). From what I've read on CC, and the information that the company sent me, it is quite a walk once off the ship to their office. They also ask that we arrive at least 10 minutes early. The only time option we were given when we booked was this early 9:00am time. For those who have done this, will we make it to their office on time? I get really stressed thinking about the amount of time required to disembark and then walk there. Thank you!
  20. It makes me happy to read so many people do in fact decorate. I was all excited about the prospect of getting creative for our upcoming cruise on Allure. Then I realized that we are the second to the last cabin aft. No one will ever see it! Plus my husband and son would roll their eyes at me.... 😉
  21. Thank you! I stopped using that popular social media site almost a year ago (so refreshing!). Do you happen to have contact info for them that you could share that doesn't require me to use the site that shall remain nameless 😉
  22. My family of three (one teenager) are cruising out of Galveston in November on Allure. I looked and looked and found our best option to be an Airbnb. There were options for only 1 night but we too are coming in 2 days early since we've never been to Galveston before and want to check it out. I opted to stay somewhat centrally located versus on the beach just so it's easier to uber/lyft around but I noticed several beach condo's at a reasonable price on Airbnb ($90). The owner of our rental sent me this link: https://www.galvestontrolley.com as we will also not have a car. My biggest concern now is getting to the island from the airport but all I've read suggests we take an uber/lyft as it is the cheapest option. Good luck!
