Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have used Luggage forward UK to Malta .. Suitcases picked up 1 week before cruise . I was able to track the cases through DPD as they picked the cases up from the house. Was in Malta 3 days before we arrived and 1 case was in the suite when we arrived on the ship the second one arrived 30 minutes later. You do have to read what you can pack with these companies , no medications no electronics etc. To me it was worth it especially post COVID. We only used them one way going to Malta On the return trip from Istanbul via Frankfurt we checked them on to the plane but they never made it home …. 9 days later and lots of emails both suitcases showed up at the house. Must admit liked getting on the plane with just hand luggage.
  2. Found the post see below Looks like I gave it a new way to spell 🥴 Other posts on this thread stated some cabins had Bvglari and some A-d-P cardygans Posted September 4 #19 We just did 45 days on Riviera and we got the scoop from the hotel manager... Bulgari is being phased out on all ships, once the supply is gone it will be all Acqua di Parma. I understand there were some supply issues with Bulgari. While the Bulgari is nice (i will admit to a little stockpile of it....) I have to admit Acqua di Parma is a lovely, luxurious product.
  3. That makes me very happy 😃 Is it the green !! I will have to hunt down the thread on ? Aqua de Palma.
  4. Au vert which is the green. I have actually been able to get on eBay (shampoo, and conditioner ) Was also able to bid on a gift set and win for £45 Stayed in a Vista suite on Riviera last year and received a free gift set. The perfume is amazing and it’s available in certain UK stores. I have read on another thread ( maybe on Vista ship) they are using a different brand for toiletries I think 🤔 but not certain it was Aqua de Palma.
  5. I think it depends on where you are flying from and class of service. Mae are embarking in one country and disembarking in another. I decided to book our own flights from UK and saved about £600 instead of taking O air. I was also able to get a non stop flight (2 hours) from Manchester to Oslo economy with Scandinavian ( day before cruise ) price included fast track through security we have priority pass for the lounges Hotel stay in Oslo all transfers paid by TA Return Heathrow to Manchester business with BA ( TA included private transfer from Southampton to Heathrow ) Like most have said do a dummy run with the airlines and see what works and also factor in what the TA and Oceania will include related to transfers.
  6. BA and AA are code share partners. I usually find the code share partners will make the layovers sufficient for all to get to connecting flights. If you look at AA website I am sure you will find flights are operated by BA and vice versa Hopefully your bags will go straight through and you will just have to follow the transit sign. Enjoy the cruise
  7. We have done a similar itinerary in Sept 2022. We did not use Oceania for any of the excursions. We went through our TA who seemed to use Shore ex and or Viator. Excursions where similar to O excursions based on description. First excursion included only 12 people lots of room on coach , which was very different from the hoards who came off the O coaches. 2nd excursion was to Santorini. There were 4 of us in a car a little tight but fun. Taking the cable car early in the morning is a bonus going up .. long lines for the cable car coming down … although donkey and walking down are optional🥴 3rd tour Mykonos we had about 20 people on a large coach lots of room. Some places we stopped at we actually just took the shuttle from the cruise terminal to some of the towns and did some of our own independent exploring. Athens we did the hop on hop off bus . The last tour in Istanbul. It was just me and my husband in a lovely luxury minibus. Apparently the other couple canceled. It does get very (traffic) congested in Istanbul so getting from the cruise terminal to the old city takes time. Authentic Turkish delight this is the place to buy it … . Our guide told us the best store to obtain ( could he have been in commission sure ) it was outside the bazaar. Pistachio and or chocolate are my favs. I am sure it can be hit and miss when it comes to excursions. I did make sure our tours did not last any more than 4 hours as my attention span dwindles after a few hours. All our guides were locals and their knowledge amazing. All but one tour was in the morning … which was great because the heat and humidity was high even in September. Istanbul was the only afternoon excursion due to the time we docked. We embarked on Riviera in Malta and stayed in the old town overnight. So did our own independent tour. if you are still waiting to get on your cruise enjoy !! if you are on your cruise hope your having a marvelous time !! Will forward to seeing your feedback on the excursions your take and who with.
  8. We used luggage forward UK to Malta. we had connecting flights and the connection was tight. Reviews on the airline and baggage not good . Expensive but worth it. We had 2 large cases. on the return journey we took the bags on the plane. They arrived back in England 9 days after we did 🥴
  9. Thank you so much !!, I did a search through confuse.com on the Martin Lewis website and many of the above came up. I have quotes from Stay Sure and Avanti, All clear and Saga will not quote until July ( are cruise is July 2024.) I have not looked at the Post Office yet i will keep reviewing
  10. It’s part of the cruise total but TA has responded and said if we don’t take the flight there will be a reduction in overall price and it will become cruise only.
