Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. For us having sailed on Oceana Arcadia Ventura Britannia and Iona each one has its place and special memories there are good and not so good on each however my only critisism of Iona was the size of (in our case balcony) cabin the bed was almost against the window and hard to walk around also the wardrobe was tiny we were on it for a week heaven knows how you could cope for 2 weeks or more. Britannia however has great cabin space but lacks what Iona has in terms of eateries bars clubs and pools/hot tubs. Will try Arcadia again but can imagine that our heads have been turned by the young upstart ships!
  2. We do not have an issue with dress code personally I really like dressing up in a DJ its something that we dont do that offen and it makes me feel a million bucks, complimenting my good lady wife' evening attire makes me proud and if anything I think it makes others feel special about the cruise experience whether they 'comply' or not different folks different strokes as they say
  3. We had this issue on the 2nd Oct trains were late or cancelled due to strike day before we had to get a lift to a station nearer Southampton we arrived 2 hours pre time given but we went through no problem waited in the lounge area for 1/2 hour then on on the way back that was a different matter we were informed that due to rail engineering works it was best to make your own way home...£150 taxi later we were home! next time we would self disembark I assume there is no queue to speak of when the doors open?
  4. We have a very easy old school method, we work on £100 pppn for a cruise (balcony) normally saver fare, this is what we believe is resonable. Currently booked on B223 HF 14 nights at £1450 each now £2299 if it goes up or down we dont really stress about it any OBC would be a bonus not that you get that with saver. Just my musings!
  5. Can anyone kindly explain the value if any of booking a future cruise whilst on board thanks
  6. We too enjoy a beer/wine or two however we could not justify £80 a day however it does set some a challenge to max it out! on the other hand we do take a bottle of gin on board for cabin pre dinner drinks and balcony relax time!
  7. Casino was in full mode on Iona in May (much to the chagrin of the good lady wife)! no masks for passengers only croupiers and waiting staff
