That would be so infuriating, and the thought of eating spit or something worse would be anxiety-inducing. We will definitively steer clear of the MDR

Hi. We are doing our first RCCL from Civitavecchia in Aug. We have done 7 DCLs with our son who has been diagnosed with ASD. Can I ask, what letter are you referring to? We have his logged his special needs with RCCL and it appears on the reservation. Our little one does not do well with waiting in lines, and eats a limited menu which we plan to address at the specialty restaurants as we have purchased the UDP

We are sailing on the Odyssey on Aug 6 from Civitavecchia (first time on RCCL after 7 DCLs), and have opted for the the UDP after reading (and seeing on YT) all the negative comments on the MDR food. We are by no means food snobs, but it would be pretty upsetting to get awful or cold food after looking forward to a nice meal together as a family. So question for the knowledge base: - As MDR food quality has gone down, has specialty restaurant food quality also suffered? Thanks

We have connecting rooms on the Odyssey coming up in Aug. Does anyone know if there is a "step" in the door between rooms? and if the door can be left open. I ask because our toddler will wander out half asleep to our bed in the middle of the night.

I apologize if this has been asked before. I've searched and could not find a definitive answer. Can I 'cast' from an android tablet to the TVs on the Odyssey? If the movies are preloaded on my tablet (ie not a streaming service), do I need the internet package? Thanks to all for your replies and knowledge.

No idea if RCCL will let you, but there are plenty of private luggage drop sites near, in fact there is one in Piazzale Roma, really close to the terminal, just search 'Radical Storage'

Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience, it is definitively the response you would expect in a 'family centered' cruise. I will make requests when I make reservations upon boarding and will also do so each day in the mid afternoon at each restaurant. Worse case scenario, I'll make a run to WJ's to bring a planet for our little one. Again, thanks to all for their experiences, responses and advice.

Hello. Hoping to tap into the knowledge base. We are sailing on the Odyssey out of Rome in August and have purchased the unlimited dining plan, so plan to have dinner at one the restaurants every night. Our youngest has been diagnosed with Autism and eats a very limited menu (chicken tenders or nuggets, fries, bacon, carrot cake and Jell-o). I know theses are very common items on cruise ships, but has anyone had any experience requesting 'special' meals for their kids (or themselves) at specialty restaurants? Thank you so very much! Jeff
