  1. I am planning to visit the castle but I don't want to kiss the stone. Will I still be able to explore inside the castle without joining the line?
  2. The military hospital would require a different bus (71) or a long walk from the 91/92 bus. It sounds like it is worth the visit though.
  3. Thanks for posting as you go. I will be doing this cruise in July and doing many of the stops on my own like you. I am really looking forward to your reports.
  4. I bring along cash for tips but tend to use cards for everything else when traveling. If you have time before you leave you can order the currency you need from your bank.
  5. Loved seeing how easy it was to get the HOHO in Liverpool since that is what I am planning to do. Thanks for letting me plan a bit through your experiences!
  6. I have seen you like many of us don’t appreciate the medallion app. It is clunky. There is a website you can use instead to plan your activities. I forget how to get to it but if you go to the medallion app desk or the Internet cafe and ask they can set it up for you. It is much better than the app.
  7. If you pull the bed away from the wall there is usually an outlet back there. As long as you don't need don't worry about it but i prefer to plug things in beside the bed.
  8. I bring an adaptor and use the international plug behind the bed along with a strip that has both usb and regular plug outlets.
  9. Sounds like an awesome pre boarding day. Have fun starting your cruise!
  10. Thank you so much for reporting as you go. My parents and I will be taking this cruise in July and I plan to venture out on my own as well. I've done a lot of online research but I hope to learn from you as well. I had the chance to wander around Southampton last time we cruised and enjoyed it. If you have time check out the titanic museum (and make sure you go to the bathroom). I have a strange request. My mother uses a wheelchair. On this cruise some of the excursions are listed as handicap accessible. I am hoping this means there will be buses she can access without steps (most of the time an excursion means steps). If you by chance see excursion busses that appear to have wheelchair access I would love to know they exist. Thanks and have a great cruise!
  11. Last year my taxi kicked me out because the traffic was so bad. The walk has lots of uneven pavement and dragging our bags was difficult. We made it but it wasn't a great start to our trip.
  12. I will be taking this cruise with my parents in July. My mother uses a wheelchair and she has signed up for several excursions listed as wheelchair accessible. Most of the time the easy excursions still require climbing up steps in a bus but since these are listed as wheelchair accessible I am hoping there are busses with lifts. If you see any busses with lifts as you head out on your excursions I'd love to know they exist.
