  1. We stayed in Brickell area and we loved the cultural vibe in the area . It so happened that sitting across from us was Julio iglesias jr being interviewed and his entourage. The food was great sevice as well
  2. In Miami i highly reccomend the restaurant My Name is Dolores but you can call me Lolita. 1st saw it on CC then went on recent cruise out of Miami big fun and excellent
  3. I was disappointed but ultimately not surprised when i tried to book a January 5 sailing at 35% off only to be told the sail ended the day before and now there was only a 15 % discount and they would not extend even though i was a past passenger
  4. We loved EJ just sailed on Oceania Vista which was much more crowded and it did of course have more people. I wrote an extensively comparison on the EJ board
  5. Im.home now sitting in my favorite chair. Thats great however no live band no multiple food venue choices no bar service nor ice cream choices. Dang
  6. Thank you. No Such sailings in 2025.we did Celebrity Vancouver to Hawaii a few years back and loved all the nights at sea. E J will be a beautiful experience Happy cruising
  7. Yup oh well i missed it January 5. One day late but that's fine just gives me more opportunity to explore. Thanks and happy cruising
  8. Sakura on EJ and Red Ginger on Vista are both similar in concept. Sakura is a bit broader in approach and menu. Wagu beef on EJ is extraordinary as was the sushi and a bit more smoky lamb. Red Ginger offers superb service in a 1st class setting with excellent food as well and a follow up visit is planned. Have had some issues with EJ back of the house at EJ with paperwork et al and miscommunication. Have not had that issue with Oceania. Tried to book EJ 2 for next year which was on sale 2 days ago at 35 % off which was just reduced to 15 % discount. I missed it by 1 day and they will not extend the 35% discount.. Oh well that will be one cruise missed. Everything is going well here on Vista with enjoyable food, nuce service and excellent entertainment I have fully expressed overall thoughts and experiences on both ships. Have truly loved both experiences and both are radically different. Both are incredibly beautiful ships with lovely capable talented crews with excellent service. In the end it comes down to doing the research making choices and both cruise experiences will provide exceptional cruise experiences. Tastes differ so check it out. Have fun Be well all. Cruise well. Stay safe All the best Waltershipman
  9. Vista has been really great so far Red Ginger very enjoyable tonight
  10. More to come for those interested as lovely cruise continues
  11. Fil Rouge on EJ excellent as was Sakura. More 2 top tables on EJ. Showrooms on both the Vista and EJ appear size comparable and both may be a bit small for pax loads. Acoustics on Vista lounge are far superior to EJ. We found vocalists on EJ appearing to strain and performances from both crew performers and an invited Broadway performer were just barely ok as performers seemed to screech except for the Billy Joel singer and the wonderful guest Steinway artists who were superb. Vista entertainment has been very excellent. David Shannon a well known Boardway and West end singer and actor delivered shows that rank among the best. An Irish comic George Casey was also fun and very enjoyable. Crew ensembles on Vista are typical and enjoyable. No ensembles on EJ. The singing duo on our EJ cruise were not so great while ancillary entertainers on Vista are excellent. Cabin attendants on both ships excellent.
  12. I am sorting out travel now for early 2025 to sail Explora journeys 2 or return to vista The shows on Vista are excellent All the best to you
  13. You would have loved our EJ cruise with multiple Steinway piano professionals doing most shows
  14. Sometime ago someone provided the resource for finding available cabins on ships. Might be ok or no ok to do but im curious
  15. While i board my wife expressed an alergy she had and Sulvestri in the lobby bar recommended a drink that we later researched and discovered it was a cure for that alergy. For me i was having some indigestion while at Mediterranean yatch club and our server proposed a remedy from her childhood in the Phillipines that worked well
  16. Loved Barbie as it makes very important statement
  17. Someone tonight reccomended Lobster alive for Lobster
  18. Great response and thank you. I did find the elevators on EJ much better more roomy and easier to navigate. Entry to Vista elevators on one set of elevators have very small entry point. Good to hear your experiences as well because we certainly would love to cruise EJ again and their current specials run until the end of February. Thanks
  19. There are certainly outdoor dining areas on Vista however we were in colder weather on EJ so we never ate outside. There are some very seasoned cruisers that comment on EJ board so they might have better info. I do plan to post more after 2nd part of Vista cruise. Thanks much
