It would appear that that is the situation these days; 50 days out for debarkation tours.

I would agree. get a print out from Guest Services.   It is easy to follow and you have a hard copy you can write on and also take back to Ouest Services if you need to discus something.

How many days is the cruise?

My guess is the £600 is most likely the Daily Service Charge for the two of you in the Suite.   (I don't know the Suite DSC in £.)

However if the Suite DSC for the two of you is less than £600 the rest may well be the Service Charges for the "Free" Specialty Dining Package and the Premium Beverage Package.  (Again I don't know the SCs for those in £)

In New Zealand, we book through Australia, our Confirmation Email has the following

The two Service Charges are both $0.00 as they are built into the fare we pay.

Basically anything that you want to buy for yourself but you cannot use Non-refundable to defer a cost that you are required to pay to NCL, like the Daily Service Charge.

The following might help

Non-Refundable OBC can be used for:

• Dining (ala carte meals, dining up charges)
• Beverages (beverages not included in a package and beverage up charges)
• Other food - Starbucks, Cocos, etc
• Attractions - GoKarts, Galaxy Pavilion, Arcades
• Internet, Internet upgrades
• Ship's Stores
• Excursions bought on board
• Spa services

Refundable OBC can be used for:

• Everything in the Non-Refundable OBC list
• Daily service Charge (DSC)
• Bingo and other paid for games of chance
• Casino
• Cruise Next (CN) Certificates
• Additional gratuities for staff

Personally as late as possible in the season.   Especially if you collect souvenirs or want presents for people, the shops will  be having BIG sales!!!   VBG

Find a cruise with both!!   Glacier Bay for the glaciers and Icy Strait Point to sit with some long drinks looking for whales.

What are your thoughts on "going cheap"?  

That is the only way to go!!   How else can a retired teacher and retired pharmacist afford 100+ days a year cruising?   Inside cabin and nothing put on the ship account!!   Just take what is available "free".

You will see something like this on your Confirmation email.

We live in New Zealand and there are almost NO Auckland to Auckland cruises and so when we cruise it is usually TWO LONG international flights.   AND Expensive!!   We put up with that and cruise twice a year in the Northern Hemisphere; 50+ days every time to spread the air costs.

We have boarded two different ships in Reykjavik.   They were both at Skarfabakki.   It cost about USD30 for a taxi from downtown.

If you are B2B2B on the same ship you will not have to.   Go and talk to the Gust Services desk, they will sort it out for you.

If not and you are changing ships go to the free NCL site on board and do it there.

We have done both with no difficulty.

Entertainment can be pre-booked 26 days prior to sailing for Platinum and above members. For Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire members, dining can be pre-booked 125 days prior to sailing and for Ambassadors, dining can be pre-booked 130 days prior to sailing. Shore excursions can be pre-booked typically 1 year prior to sailing for Platinum and above members.

120 days for those lower to book dining.

The only way is to take another cruise.

What happens when someone "leaves" during a voyage?

Debarkation Port

Port where passenger left the ship.

Then who did the passenger see to get permission to leave early  AND  what specific information did that person require?

I hope that her leaving didn't upset the ship's manifest because if it did, and NCL were heavily fined for having an incorrect manifest, then they will seek recompense from her for the fine.
