  1. @Russiamomm

The Hawaii to Papette on the Sun in October is very tempting.

Could I suggest that you consider Hawai'i all the way to Sydney if you can afford the pennies and the time.   We did it a few years ago when there were even more ports visited.

I believe getting out of Papeete is a pain.   I have heard of people having to travel home from Papeete to the USA via Sydney!! depending on the airline you favour.

  2. ncl isnt fooling anyone with their alleged sales.

NCL has NEVER had a "SALE"!!!   They just change the wording to appear that they are.

There is a logical reason for this!!   If there is a price drop BEFORE final payment you can get a re-fare/cancel & rebook.   (The cynic in me says they will soon alter that.)   BUT after final payment you now can only get something if the T&Cs are EXACTLY the same as they were when you booked.   That is why they change them every few weeks!!!   (What me a cynic; NO!!!!!!!)

  3. A true TransPacific would be the northern route; Yokohama/Tokyo to Seward or reverse.   I don't know if they are offering a single cruise Yokohama/Tokyo to Vancouver.

The central TransPacific route is usually offered as part cruises; I don't think a full TransPacific is offered.   Parts are Vancouver or Los Angeles to Hawai'i;  Hawai'i to Papeete; Papeete to Sydney or Auckland.   With the reverse as well.

  4. Last year we did Reykjavik to Tromsø to Reykjavik.   First part via Svalbard and the second via Faroes.   So a number of different Norwegian ports BUT some Icelandic ones were repeated.

A warning ship tours on these itineraries were expensive as is Iceland if you have days there before and/or after.

    We would recommend those B2B.

  5. We have done LOTS of cruises and have never had a problem.   We do the small underwear in the sink and send the rest to be done on board.   Always excellent service, at most 2 full days.

Be careful with the bag you pot it in ;easy to rip.   If you are using the free service from the Latitudes system get as much as you can by rolling all clothes tightly.

If you are on a longer cruise and there are two of you and you are both in the free regime put one name and "Latitudes" on the outside of the bag in Bold letters and then use the other name on teh second lot.

Eden & Burnie were dropped earlier this year (May?).   It was also changed so that the ship was to remain in Sydney overnight after embarkation day for the whole next day.

There are two cruises in January that had Akaroa changed to Lyttleton and then changed to Timaru during the year too.

It is interesting, and annoying, that the 9th February cruise is the only cruise that is going to Akaroa.

  7. From the Latitude Rewards information

    • IMPORTANT: Rewards points are applied to your account after you return from your cruise. Points will be applied within 48 hours after you have completed a sailing. Effective 1-February 2016, missing cruises must be claimed within 12 months from the day the cruise ends, in order to receive Latitudes points. We are unable to respond to requests submitted after the 12 month deadline has expired.

    So I'm afraid not.
