  1. I noticed that! Funnily enough I have been getting cruise guru ads advertising a one night cruise from Cairns for something over $600p/p 😁 I thought it was a joke. I went to Norwegian and sure enough it's real! I can't think of an afternoon Embarkation for a 6am disembarkation the proceding morning as being attractive!
  2. I knew it would be too easy! 🤣 Next time I am going to be more challenging! Yes correct! Lanarch Castle Dunedin, New Zealand. Your Turn!
  3. I would go as far to say Princess is a bit like what P&O Au was back before water slides and add on gimmicks (But at a higher standard) Or should I say the old P&O Au was a bit like Princess!! As I have said before, travelling with kids I preferred P&O so will probably transition to Carnival however travelling without Kids - It's Princess without hesitation. And I think that could be a good thing for Princess to collect more past P&O Au passengers looking for a similar feel and not just think Carnival is the only option. Who knows, maybe we will see an increase in Princess voyages on offer?! 🤞
  4. Just for interests sake when you book on P&O Au now they have the little Operated by Carnival logo much like when you search flights on Qantas and they offer Jetstar flights.
  5. No idea but am going to guess the country is Australia
  6. Yep it's not like airport customs. You're only visiting NZ and not required to take all your luggage off the ship and get it inspected etc If you have doubts and don't actually need the supplements during the day just leave them in your cabin. Dose up in the morning and top up when back on board.
  7. My we are impatient 🤣 The internet has really given a lot of us an instant always on mindset. I think 24 hours is too short but I do agree some kind of time limit would be good. I'll go the longer end for my suggestion - 3 days We are cruisers afterall and sometimes we just have no internet acess for whatever reason.
  8. This is probably the biggest worry for a lot of friends and family: "The decision marks the end of seasonal departures from Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland, all of which operated on Pacific Explorer, which will ‘exit’ the company in March, presumably to be sold to another cruise line." You missed Cairns in the list. I know the locals up there are upset.
  9. And I would struggle to drink 15 schooners in a day especially on port days.
  10. I Love it! Why not?! I mean it's a last bit of history. I am glad we just got off as they made the announcement, it made our last cruise ever with P&O Au feel just a little more special. P&O Au will eventually be remembered as the good old days nostalgia of the Fairstar Funships I predict more cut backs are coming to Carnival Au - it won't be long before it becomes the cheapened Ground Hog day line with eggs benny considered a luxury extra.
  11. Yes @arxcards not having a go at their business models just observing that sometimes that's the only downside for us. (Pretty good for that to be the only negetive I'd say)
  12. Sometimes my bank balance is not able and willing to though 🤣
  13. The only thing I have found with TA's are their payment cutoffs, refund times etc can be different to direct with the cruise line.
  14. I have noticed P&O Au have turned off all comments on their instagram page. I don't use Facebook but I am assuming they've done the same?
  15. The Carnival Media release says "P&O Cruises Australia guests will also be invited to participate in Carnival’s loyalty program and promotional offerings specific to Carnival ships sailing in the region.” I am going to guess (hope) that it means past P&O cruises will count towards VIFP once P&O ceases in 2025 rather than just being invited to start again!
  16. And then they pulled the plug on P&O Cruises Australia completely! Must of been a pretty big number 3! 😆
  17. I don't understand their system all I know is I was allocated a VIFP number and previous cruise recognition and can book on cheaper VIFP fares however I have never followed through with a booking. Do they offer tiers like Princess Captain's Circle?
  18. These corporations just don't care because they don't have to. The way of the current world. Apathy is the new corporate philosophy.
  19. So I already get this anyway. I forgot how I did it but there is a way to link past P&O passenger to Carnival Not as good as the P&O to Princess but still it is available.
  20. I don't think the support will change, it just seems to be a business move. Carnival owned the brand anyway. I think we will see a reduction in some services at Carnival to bring it down a little (a merge of P&O cost cuttings under the better brand reputation of Carnival) Carnival will now equal Jeststar Princess = Qantas Their profits will increase and their customer services will decline but they know we will still book cruises because what better way is there to holiday?! From what I have read the 2 P&O ships are being added to Carnival anyway so I am going to assume there will be the similar itineraries etc just under the Carnival flag What I am most interested in is the seasonal ports like Cairns,Perth etc Will they keep following what P&O did with the short home port seasons in regional locations. I have Carnival, P&O and Princess past cruise numbers all linked - hopefully that means I will still keep my Platinum status with Princess.
  21. This is how i am reading it. The p&o au brand has really gone down hill so this is a way for Carnival to regroup and focus on profits.
