I'm still not sure why they can't let priority and FTTF passengers do their online check in one day before the rest of the passengers.  That way the priority people would be able to choose earlier appointment times since that benefit is temporarily being taken away.

we are platnium and our check in date was just updated to 2 days earlier for our Sept cruise.

My conclusion is many people are canceling just before final payment. As I did. They are trying to keep the bookings they have. The longer the uncertainty the more people will cancel and avoid new bookings... so these actions are meant to retain bookings and provide some safety net on new ones.

I hope they extend final payment deadlines if November and/or December sailings get canceled. I am booked for Feb. 28 and not sure I will send final payment end of October if the restart is not happening.

Agree, we are booked for beginning of March and will cancel right before final payment if they do not extend final payment. We really want to do the cruise but can't invest that kind of money on possibility they might cruise....ours is a 12 day with a lot of perks. To much money to risk.

I feel the same. Our cruise is the beginning of March. I wrote them a letter concerning the fact they did not change our final payment and if they are not sailing by then I will cancel.

I am a tipper, but I am also pleasant and friendly to the servers. They thoroughly appreciate both. A few years ago I spent a decent amount of time sitting at the bar at Gatsby's on the Dawn. The bartenders gave everyone great service, but they had an extra touch for the people who were "nice" to them or regulars for the week.

My drink was made with a different liquor than the standard drink and two bartenders made sure they were always the ones to take care of me. When I sailed on the same ship 16 months later, one of the bartenders was there and remembered me.

Tipping extra is nice if you are inclined to do so (like BirdTravels I make sure I have a supply of $1s and $5s for any vacation), but being friendly and respectful goes a long way as well.

We tip but not every time. When we find a bar & bartender we like we will tip every 3-4 days (we tend to take longer cruises). I do think it pays off a little but that is not why we do it. We do it because we feel these people have gone above & beyond the level of service to be expected.

Has anyone received their full refunds yet? Our cruise was canceled about a month ago and still nothing...

My cruise was just cancelled today. I requested the refund and was told it will take 45-60 days to hit my credit card.

So does this mean no cruising for 100 days from the March order date?  So we are looking at June for the earliest sail?

the way I read it was an additional 100 days starting April 15 which would put 1st sailings in July.

Just my opinion, but I never thought it was the CDCs right to order cruises to stop for 100 days. Above their pay grade. Yes, they can recommend... idk about order.

They might not be able to stop them from sailing entirely but they can stop them from sailing from US ports which is what the notice says....we shall see. Do not see them sailing again until end of July or something in Aug......

Yes, I posted the CDC link earlier.

    https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/index.html?fbclid=IwAR34iirrBIz7_fiuCS6xlR72CYG7r-2CAcjM6tpOv3ebMeUw1tFXwLQxxnw

I read it as 100 days from the original date though, not 100 additional days.

I read something tonight that said 100 days from April 15th...I will try & find link but I believe it was from the CDC??? That would mean soonest they could cruise would be in July. They also have to meet a bunch of other requirements.

    Is Diamond International reputable?

I got a ring from Diamonds International that appraised at home for almost $1,000 more than I paid'

Also, we were on a cruise in Jan. (not RCCL) They actually announced several times to be aware that St. Kitts have NO laws regarding selling fake jewelry.   Did not even look at any there.

The theatre shows are fun.  If I am not mistake the two major production shows are  "Island Gateway" and "88 Keys"  both have wonderful music and fun dancing.  They have eliminated the live orchestra a while back but still nice.  Each of these are shown twice in the course of the evening to accommodate both the early and late dinner seating

On the first night they have a fun little show  hosted the the Cruise Director with songs and dancing BUT there is only one show time that first night and it's rather late (maybe 10:30PM)

All of the above are in the Taj Mahal

When we pull out of port there is also a Sail Away Party on the upper Lido deck to wave out of Baltimore

what time are shows on regular nights

Did you ever get your questions answered.  Going in March and would like to go to Eagle Beach on our own as well.  Have you already been on your cruise and perhaps be able to provide some direction.  Thanks in advance.

there is a beach bar & you can rent chairs  & umbrellas. Not sure if they will call a taxi for you but we took a taxi out & back and don't remember having a problem getting the taxi.

Iguana Joe's is a people watching place.....you must get a table along the street. We are also there all day until late into the night and plan on spending a few hours people watching & having a drink.,

We have reservations at the Renaissance Aruba so we can go to Flamingo Island. I am so excited to go to the private island and see the flamingos!

How did you book this. I have looked on line and can't find anything. I do not see anything thru my ship. This is exactly what we want to do.

  14. How did you book this.....thru ship or hotel. We actually stayed there for a week and had hoped to go out to private beach. I have looked on line at their web site and can't find anything. Our ship does not offer this as an excursion. Would love to have info but we leave this Sunday.....

I would like to make a reservation for the steakhouse on the Miracle, I understand we now need to prepay this reservation. Can anyone tell me if we have to cancel this cruise (we will have insurance) or decide to cancel the reservation, is it refundable.

They asked for my credit card but did not charge it. I did get a confirmation of my reservation. My guess is they will charge your card if you are a no show. Seems they are having a problem with people just not showing up & not bothering to call and cancel reservation.....leaving them with a half empty venue.

    Euros are preferable.

Bars will take Cards, but they'll fix the rate of exchange in their favour.

Best to use a First Class Bank in Fort de France for currency transactions.

Plenty in the town, or buy before you depart your place of residence.

The ship could serve you a 15% skim.

Exchanging at home does not make sense for small amount I will need for this one place. I don't understand how they adjust on a credit card. I have a credit card I have used all over Europe and the exchange is what it is on the date I made the charge....I have had them adjust in their favor with cash which is why I usually use a card.

    Fort de France

Like Le Cloud, a funky place with a roof terrace, but shuts after lunch.  But still have a soft spot for Lili's beach bar, although not in town, it's a short taxi ride away. It has a great selection of Rhums at all price points, with a bar food standard well above what one would expect for a beach bar.  Very popular with discerning locals, and generous with pours.

Do I need Euros? if don't take US how about credit cards
