  1. Don't keep us hanging:) What was RCCL's explanation??

Mystery has been solved. Our RFS is okay! So what happened is my brother and his wife were moved out of our suite and into an inside cabin several months ago. For some reason, it took the system this long to "trash" their old reservation number. Have no clue why the statement RCI sent early Sunday morning mentioned an $8,000 deposit but it did. RCI group agent joked that their system likes to randomly send customers email so they call customer service so he has a job :D Anyway, we confirmed that both RFS were okay and that my brother and his wife were still in their inside stateroom.

  2. Logged into my account and it looks like my suite is okay. I'll check with my uncle and see if his suite is okay. He may have reduced the number of people in his cabin. Some family members were going to share his RFS and they cancelled. He may have dropped some people from that room from 8 down to 5. I'll call the group's department though in the morning and report back what I learned.

  3. Maybe if the OP would post the cabin numbers, someone could look to see if the cabin in question is showing available or not. It won't guarantee that someone else hasn't booked the cabin, but it might help the OP sleep tonight.

Both RFS are 8714 & 8414. I tried calling and group reservations are closed and regular agent said C&A can't help. Only the groups dept can answer.

  4. Most likely they were holding an extra "seat" for the 6th person that was never named in the cabin and that is what was released.

Just to relieve your fears, can you view the bookings in the Cruise Planner to see that all is ok?

Also, you should be able to get someone in Groups today. Let us know what happens.

I'll log in when I get home and check. We already got rid of a 6th person almost 4 months ago and had a receipt for that so I don't know why they randomly sent me that. I'm the group's leader/contact so I get notification any time something happens within the group.

  5. I would start with emailing the person listed today and attach your orginal invoice with the date you have, maybe they will respond. Since the RFS has more than 4 people they always have to have an additional reservation number, maybe they updated their system and it kicked it out.

We had that but that 2nd booking id has my daughter on it and it was paid in full two months ago. It's just strange why the system just randomly sent the email.

  6. For group bookings do you not have to have names confirmed and additional deposit in before final payment or the cruise line reclaims the cabins.

Whatever the case I would call ASAP. I would even try calling C&A today to see if they can help.

We had names and everything. My daughter was person #5 in a separate booking number in our RFS and her portion paid in full.

What's also weird is they list a $8,000 deposit [emoji15] that's double the cost of our suite!

  7. Have a group reservation we booked over a year ago that has two royal family suites reserved with final payment not due until August 30. I got this email this morning with an invoice (see pic) and freaking out a little since RCI's group department is not open on Sunday's and non-group agents can't help me. What's weird is it says the FS is single occupancy but both suites we have have at least 5 people in them. What do you think happened? Did they release one of our suites?

  8. I feel your pain. I too am self-conscious about the spider veins on my legs. I'll definitely need a product that is waterproof as I'll be hanging by the pool and going to the beach a lot next Feb. when I'll be in Cancun for my niece's wedding. I'm going to visit our new Sephora store and see what ideas the staff there has for me. I'm also going to see if there is an Ultra store near me and check them out too. I'll share my results when I get the info together and use the product.

    Awesome! Thanks! [emoji4][emoji106]

  9. Alaska resident here. May is start of whale migration here but it's not as warm as June or July. We did have an usually warm May in Anchorage, low 80s which is hot when no one has A/C. Prices before June are probably cheaper though; Princess has a great program if you decide to add on a land tour to explore via train and visit other parts of the state, like Denali or Seward.

  10. I forget the brand but Ulta now carries it. I use it on business casual trips. These are 3-4 day gigs with ungodly early wake up calls. It comes in the same basic shades as hair: blond, brown, black, red and gray. I have very dark brown hair that now has a few greys here and there that I get colored every few months. This one you lightly spray a bit near the scalp as you hold locks up or away. Let dry completely (like 3 minutes) and then brush lightly and style. It adds nice lift. Only down side is you'll want to drape a towel over your shoulders for the fine mist that goes past any hair. Very water soluble so no wrecked towels. It does not smudge once dry. A friend said they now have a clear not white formula so I may try that when this can runs out. It is not a substitute for getting a root touch up.

Do you know how much per bottle, just curious?

  11. Thank you! That's what I would be using it for too since my hair comes down to my butt :D Always been afraid that it would look terrible just because of how it's applied. I will have to try some out sometime.

My hair just gets oily at the roots, so I only apply dry shampoo there. You brush starting at the roots and can style it if you need to but typically when I use it I straightened my hair the day prior so it keeps pretty well so all my hair needs is a good brushing. There are lots of different brands at Walgreens in the $5-$12 range and some more expensive ones you can find in salons (usually $20+).

  12. I use my Batiste on cruises same as I do at home. Why would it be different in the Caribbean?

Curious how the heat and humidity would affect hair after using dry shampoo. I live in a state that can get hot but fairly dry so was wondering if a sweaty head from humid weather would just be pointless to use it.

  13. I've always wondered if it actually works. Does it build up or cake on your scalp? Does it make it look like you have dandruff?

No it's just like hairspray, only not sticky, with like fine powder that you brush into your hair and it soaks up oil. Never had flakes or dandruff being an issue. You're spraying it on your roots but I guess if you sprayed way too much it could cake up. I typically use it every other shower to get an extra day of a hairstyle with out having to wash my hair since it is long.

  14. $3500 for an inside cabin...Yikes!. I would watch and wait a bit longer. You have plenty of time. You can always book now with a deposit to secure your cabin and get adjustments when/if the price drops. If it is still to high you can cancel following the schedule to avoid any penalties.

I was thinking yikes too! We only paid $4k for a Royal Family Suite on a 7 night on Liberty for five people. We booked it last year and our sailing is in November. Kind of puts things in perspective. I think the high cost is due to spring break season.

  15. When we cruised out of Quebec this past Oct, we had to plan for 40's & 50's the first half of the cruise up to 80 so that was challenging. We wore levies during the day, short sleeve blouse and was prepared with a sweatshirt and medium weight jacket, not bulky and did fine as long as it had a hood. Next year we will be doing a TA from Copenhagen through Iceland and plan to layer. Since we come from a warmer climate I am not buying heavy winter clothes we will never wear again.

What are levies? Do you mean Levis as in jeans?

  16. Hi, an Alaskan here [emoji4] for southeast Alaska cruises I highly suggest wearing layers, you can always take things off should the clouds part and you have sunny skies. Last week in Anchorage we had 78 to 85 degree weather so It can get warm. Hooded sweatshirts and a light rain jacket work great and jeans with leggings underneath are practical. If you're doing an excursion around water or wooded areas, a pair of rain boots will help but they are a pain/bulky to pack. Tshirts are good for the mild/warmer days. Alaskans are very casual so no need to impress people especially on land [emoji16]

  17. Love the idea of an exit ramp instead of the escalator, if I understood the article correctly. One of the really scary parts of self-debarkation for me, at any port, is using the escalator with my bags, which were usually top-heavy and always awkward for me to control on the escalator. Always had visions of losing control of my luggage and causing an accident.

This happened to me in Ft. Lauderdale. My dad broke my fall but still was an extremely embarrassing situation. My bags tumbled to the bottom of the escalator [emoji15]

  18. Ladies! I am with each and every one of you!

I have had great success finishing Longitude, Rose Marie Reed and Miracle suits at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Ross. I buy multiple different pieces at Lands End and try them on, return the rest for no shipping charge at Sears. I do not buy the suits with max control at Lands End because see I ended up in the same predicament as the OP. I think the pressure from the suit made my eyes bug out.

If any of you have resources to find a suit for my daughter who is a curvy size 20 with a 40G bra size, please share.

Here's to hoping each of us find suits we love. I tend to buy the same style in multiple colors...

Did your daughter find one? I'm an 18 and I saw suits at Torrid dot com and ModCloth dot com. Now my ta tas aren't as big, but I know they carry plus sizes that fit me so she many have some luck and the styles are really cute.
