Embarkation Day! We're leaving Houston and on our way to Galveston! We got a private charter to fit all 25 of us. Crossing fingers the traffic isn't too bad.
-
I'm doing a live review with my toddler right now. We sail tomorrow and we have a different itinerary but there may be helpful things for you. Follow my posts here:

Nice weather for your pre-cruise and taking those nice pictures.
Exactly! Not too hot we're melting but warm enough for tshirts, shorts and flip flops! [emoji41]
-
Sorry to hear that :( Hope she gets over it quickly so she can enjoy all that the cruise has in store! My daughter was and is the opposite when she's not feeling well. I swear we don't over-medicate her but she asks for medication more often than we think she should. DW and I sometimes give her a placebo like a Tic Tac
Thank you for the sympathy. She's pretty congested but at age 2 there's not a lot we can give her to help with symptoms anyway. That's hilarious about the Tic Tac trick. Smart parenting!!

Tonight we celebrated my hubby's birthday at the hotel with Texas BBQ (catered by Hickory Hollow) and mini cupcakes. The surprise was a Frickin' Chicken singing telegram and birthday comedy appearance. My hubby had no idea this was going to happen and it was fun surprising him.
Embarkation is tomorrow morning! Our group has a chartered private shuttle to Galveston. With 25 of us, it's going to be a bit crazy but a lot of fun!

One of our boys lost my hubbys nice DSLR camera, waiting to hear if it got left at Kemah or Saltgrass. We didn't realize until this morning. On my hubby's birthday. Oy. Looks like hubby will be getting a new camera.
We ran out of time to find it since our rental car had to be back at the airport by 5:00. Life happens even when on vacation! Hubby is being a good sport although I know he's just cringing inside since the lens and camera is about $2k. Ugh.
The pool at our hotel has maintenance issues so across the parking lot is the Courtyard by Marriott. They our letting us use their pool. Kids are happy!
Yes, that is a donut inner tube [emoji16][emoji106]

I left my phone in the backpack but I got these from hubby's phone. This is a small aquarium and it was crowded. We didn't pay extra to do rides or games. Our plan to have lunch there didn't work; there was a 45 minute wait for a table and the kids were hungry. We left and went to a food court at a mall near our hotel.
-
Now on to get lunch and to the aquarium. My daughter loves fish. Despite her cold she is doing well. Can't say the same for potty training.
Today is also my hubby's birthday so we will have fun as the other 20 people in our group arrive at the Residence Inn. More good stuff to come!"

It's 78 here and for us Alaskans we're roasting, ha ha. But it's good. Sunshine in the middle of winter is good.
The "bubble" to view prairie animals.
We fed giraffes lettuce!

Good morning! It's already 73 degrees and we're headed to the Houston Zoo! Can't wait to see the kids enjoy a big city zoo. The zoo in Anchorage is really small and can be done in about 45 minutes so it should be a blast. Daughter caught a cold and she was so congested last night [emoji20] Really hope she starts feeling better so tomorrow's embarkation on Liberty is more enjoyable for her and us. We have meds but it's hard to get a toddler to cooperate taking anything.
-
It's between Liberty and Harmony! Harmony has no solarium pool, but can drive there. Both have slides. Have to fly to Liberty! We are on Oasis in March and will probably book on board! Have a wonderful trip. We went to Alaska 10 years ago, land only and loved it. Just too cold for me! Lol

We'd like to try Oasis or Allure, maybe next year. Yes, Alaska can get quite chilly in the winter ⛄️❄️

So enjoying your review and especially the pics! Love your sweet little girl. Thinking about the Liberty for next year. Thanks for letting me follow along!

She's a handful, but thank you [emoji4][emoji106] You should just go ahead and book Liberty. Just do it! [emoji51]

We had a great meal at the Saltgrass. I would certainly recomend this restaurant to anyone
Yes, it was nice -- hubby had a ribeye steak and a side of the mac n cheese. He thought it was pretty good and he's a foodie and it's hard to impress him. Today they were doing 10% off for veterans, so helped a little on the bill.
Which reminds me, thank you to all CC'ers who have served in the armed forces!

Enjoy your adventure.
Thank you so much! We will! It's always an adventure with a toddler [emoji4][emoji106] wherever you are!

We will be on the same cruise as you this Sunday. Can't wait!!!
Yay!!! We can't wait! [emoji924][emoji175] two more sleeps [emoji16]

I'll help you finish it next time ;) I've been "training" for my upcoming cruise :D
Ha ha! Bring those elastic waist pants! [emoji23]

Last photo before we go...
Well, one more. She's done.

After the surf and terf, no room left for dessert [emoji51]
It's dark and the rides are lit up!

Saltgrass Steakhouse on the Kemah Boardwalk.
Course #1: mojito and Caesar salad [emoji899]
Kids menu:
Forgot to take a pic of the adult menu. Oops. I'm pretty sure they have it online.
-
I am along for the virtual ride. Great pics!
Thank you! Nothing special but an iPhone 7 [emoji16]
-
More of Kemah. Perfect temps for us Alaskans today too!

It's pretty quiet here, this place doesn't start getting busy until about 5:00.
