  1. Yes, Helen and husband are lovely and helpful. He told us that they are extending as they own the block next door so more rooms and are building a new pool as well. Everyone we spoke to was saying how great the boarding process was. We live halfway between Brisbane and Sydney so don't mind where we embark, but surprisingly we really enjoyed sailing from the new terminal, cruising past Moreton Island and Bribie on the way out. For those interested, taxi from the domestic airport to Kingsford Smith Motel at Hamilton was $40 and from the BICT to the domestic Airport was $49. We thought it would be cheaper as we shared with another couple in a van, but he charged us $49 each couple!!! Didn't realise until I checked our account. Probably should have been taking more notice and not chatting haha!!
  2. Home now😁 Couldn't say how late it stayed open till, the Oasis area was always packed so we stayed clear. Would like to spend more time out there and upstairs on a longer cruise. We took our coffee up there yesterday about 7am, nice spot!
  3. Yes it was and it does. I called the motel once we had our check-in time of 11.30am and they had us on the first transfer at about 10.30am. We were the only ones so got scenic back road tour! We have no special loyalty with Carnival or were in a suite and were on board at 11.15am. They called anyone waiting at 11am. Some boarding had 2pm on their passes.
  4. Happy to answer any questions for those cruising on Luminosa soon. We stayed the night before at Kings Ford Smith motel who provide a free transfer to the cruise terminal. Great renovated rooms, nice little pool, free bottle of wine if you book direct $185 queen room renovated recently super clean. Easy walk to ghost town Portside Wharf area for Woolies, IGA and cafes. Loved the Luminosa, plenty of happy helpful staff. We had a balcony on deck 4, larger balcony. Great location too. Ask away if you have questions, we have a 2 hour wait for our propeller plane home haha!
  5. OK going there in a couple of hours will check it out. Love this ship so far. Not too big... Bit of Spirit bit of Splendour. Staff on Carnival are so great.
  6. Yes. Comparing to the Princess list and our recent Adventure cruise. Carnival is less. Bucket of beer 6 $45 on Luminosa now.
  7. Just bought a bottle of Sav blanc Ruffled Feather $34. It will do for balcony sail away.
  8. Still $39. On Luminosa now sailing out.... Losing internet
  9. That's disgusting. Our cabin on Explorer three years ago had leftover toiletries, socks under bed. Adventure recently had torn carpet and holes in the floor. Leaking roof....
  10. Poor guys, I understand a lot are not happy. Our recent P&O Adventure cruise bar staff asked us to complain on the survey as they might listen to paying cruisers, they were doing longer hours as well. One making drinks and one serving tables is not enough.
  11. $24 for a cocktail.....is that the standard price now? P&O was $16
  12. Haha, those desserts sound🤮 If we were to cruise Princess again we would take the basic fare, take our wine onboard and buy a couple of standard spirits pre and post dinner. We don't drink juices, creamy cocktails, soft drinks etc, have never purchased internet, been to the gym to have a look haha! and if we want a specialty restaurant we will purchase it. At least there is still a choice to go basic.
  13. The only thing of value to us on Princess now as Elite is the mini bar setup and priority tendering. No internet and no "cheaper" drinks at the Elite/Platinum lounge.....if they still have it. Is that right Geoff? Haven't cruised Princess since 2020. We are not Elite/Diamond or what ever on any other line, we don't need dress up's, or special dinners/drink party's, couldn't think of anything worse than sitting with Officers for a lunch. Just a nice mid size ship, good dining choices included, an aft deck pool, nice free adults only area and some bloody reasonably priced drinks, don't want much!!
  14. Hey Les, hope you are doing ok🥰 I am not on Majestic anytime soon, been there done that twice!! No future Princess cruises booked. Short ones for us ATM in this climate of cruising, just to get away. Hope you can get back on soon!
  15. Yeah, I get that Geoff, especially when Princess have upped their fares and their drinks! You would at least want decent service and knowledgeable staff.
  16. 🤣🤣 Ok, back on topic, the Majestic.......I'm gonna jinx myself for rude people in a couple of days. Geoff, is the Hollywood Sanctuary area still free?
  17. Funny Cheryle, sorry TommyH this has really gone off topic, but once on a cruise on the Emerald Princess, Andy and I had just come from the pool area, shorts, tshirts thongs etc. Thought we would wander past the aft restaurant to see what was on the menu tonight before we got back to our cabin. All the 5pm diners were lined up on the stairs as they do at 4.30pm, one elderly gent pushed his way through to tell us in a loud voice that we won't get into the dining room dressed like that, we would have to go to the buffet haha!! Too funny, some people just can't help themselves.
  18. I went to Lelepa on a day sail back in the early 90's. It was on a tall ship and I remember some caves and lunch on the beach and the most amazing snorkelling. I used to fly to Vanuatu back then and spend a week.
  19. Love Singapore too and we are always on the lookout for around 14/16 days from Singapore. We love cruising through Indonesia, top of Australia and down the coast. Those Oceanviews on deck 1 and 2 are the size of a balcony cabin including the balcony.
  20. Great OBC and price for Solo! we did 15 nights on Splendour bringing it to OZ, had an Oceanview and loved it, they are huge. We loved Splendour, once you find your way around. We have 4 nights in June and then just booked the Singapore to Sydney August 2024, both the cruises to and from Singapore are going for around $1300AUD inside with $100 OBC.
  21. Us too for Fung Kuei....have to wait till December to go back there, been ages
  22. Hope all the cranky's are off when we get on on Thursday, I am over cranky, impatient, pushy and rude....haha probably shouldn't be cruising😅 And re the older frail, the next generation will be worse, so many over weight younger people on our last cruise, very large girls in g string bikinis🤮...we don't need to see that thanks. Saw about 3 young people in wheel chairs, obese, huge swollen legs, still stuffing their face with crap. Very sad.......hey i sound like those cranky people!!
  23. No need to apologise, easily mixed up as P&O take on Princess ships and rename them, it was more confusing when when there was Pacific Sun, Sun Princess, Pacific Dawn and Dawn Princess all sailing here, only two the same were Sun and Dawn Princess.
  24. As above, Adventure is ex Golden. Larger inside cabins, walk in robe etc standard Grand class layout I agree for a romantic quiet couple cruise, go for a balcony.
  25. Pacific Adventure is ex Golden Princess, Grand class, Pacific Explorer is ex Dawn Princess Sun Class, very different ships.
