As long as they don't get rid of the carpet in the elevators telling me what day it is:D
That is still there. [emoji2]

I’ve heard many say they no longer got a Cruise Log. Maybe this is only for short cruises, but we got a Voyage Log last night.

The never-used area...
The shops in the evening when there are usually lots of people there.

They have the new shops here on NA. We can’t stand them and apparently the feeling is very mutual throughout this cruise because there are hardly ever many people in them. There are basically no sales...No watch events... No jewelry events...No deck sales. The desk area in the passageway between the shops was NEVER used (they used to do “gold by the inch”, liquor tastings, etc there).
When we first boarded we realized that the sunscreen that we brought with us wasn’t what we thought it was, so we went to the shops to buy some and there was none to be found. We asked and they told us it was still below decks in the warehouse. We said that perhaps sunscreen should be a priority on a Caribbean cruise.
I asked to sample a cologne and were told that they didn’t have a sample. I said that I’m not going to buy something if I can’t sample it. Then they opened one to let me try.
I know ships are an ongoing thing and they would never do this, but it would just have been better if they would have closed them completely for a week so they could all get their acts together rather than doing a half-a**ed job throughout the cruise.
We usually spend a good amount on colognes and watches, but we refuse to spend a dollar in these shops on this cruise

I don’t know about longer cruises, but we were told here on NA (7-day) that since they have Rudi’s SDM, they no longer do the Chef’s Table.

Yes...no Atrium Bar and no Atrium staircases at all.

Yes, the buildings at the end of that pier were torn down in the Fall, incl. Burt Reynolds' former restaurant. Something new and improved is coming there
What I’m talking about is still in the process of being torn down.

We were at Pier 26 today and it looked like they are tearing down the pier next to it. I’m guess that is for a redo??

If you are ever disoriented when departing a HAL elevator on the stateroom floors, look for the furniture or the stairs. Furniture is always at the aft direction and the stairways on the forward side.
I never knew this but great information!! Thanks!!

There must be a conspiracy. I have tried to post my other NA photos and keep getting an error message from
CC.
They are all posted on Facebook on the Holland America Line Fans page.

At 5 weeks out, I would probably wait as well...sorry, I didn’t realize you were that far out. It will get better if the Neptunes are not selling.
Isn’t that a little soon to be getting upsell offers? They must really want your category...and if they want it bad enough they’ll give a better offer.
You can counter-offer to them on the phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t...depends how badly they want your existing stateroom.

That road from 3-Star to 4-Star is LONG. [emoji2] We’re making our way as well.

Actually Fruits De Mer at Sel is not served in an iron skillet and consists only of fresh shrimp, crab, oysters, and other fresh sea food piled high, so unless I’m missing one of your pictures I don’t see it.
That photo is Fruits De Mer that we were served on Koningsdam last year.

It’s been years since we’ve been to either of these ports and we have no recollection of the shopping at these ports. Which would be the best for shopping...colognes, leather goods, linens, etc?
Thank you!!

Is the second photo of Fruits de Mer? It looks to be a surcharge of $25 and is meant for two. I wonder if you must give up two appetizers as well? Looks beautiful.

It is. We did not have it at the pop-up, so not sure how that works.

We are taking my husbands 80 yr. old parents on HAL from Seward to Vancouver and are SO overwhelmed by all this cruise talk! Excited though. What is the Thermal Suite Pass you speak of?
On which ship are you sailing?

Truly, the updates are very nice and the ship is GORGEOUS. Maybe some things were changed and not everyone is going to like everything, but if you look at the entire product...the ship is GORGEOUS.
